  1. Hello

I am sorry for asking u this one stupid question but I am not so sure of the answer so could u guys let me know if i need my SSN to apply for the AOS?

And could u tell me how to get the vaccination card transferred by the civil surgeon? I do not think I will have to enclose DS 3025 since it's already in the brown envelope. FYI, I got 5 vaccinations, influenza, hepa, polio, Tetanus, and MMR.

Any response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  2. If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693A IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693a.

Hello everyone, I arrived in the States a few days ago under K1 and getting married this weekend so I am pretty much almost there to file the AOS. My panel physician didn't give me copy of form DS-3025. Will my application be ok without me enclosing it?

Any response will be much appreciated!

We never got a DS-3025 either. But you do need to enclose one of the two forms. If you didn't yet a DS-3025, take what vaccination records you do have, and get it transfered to the I-693a by a civil surgeon. Its may be possible that you havent received all the vaccinations required yet (It was for us, the indonesian clinic would not do MMR), and you may need to get them done at the same time.

I got five vaccinations including MMR, so I think I should be ok and will not be required to take any more vaccinations for the AOS.

I have vaccination card with me, so do you think it will be ok for me just to copy this card?

I don't know how to get the vaccination card transferred to the I-693a. Anyways I contacted the clinic and they said they were not allowed by the US embassy to give the DS form copy to anyone including the visa applicant.

    Thanks

    Hi Ranie,

It could depend on the state I guess, so have your fiance double-check, but we flew in on 13-January-2008, 14-January-2008 we applied for marriage lisence, 15-January-2008 we were married :) My husband is from Ohio originally.

BTW, I had my K-1 visa interview in U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. My husband (fiance at the time) and I were living and working there for 15 months.

"Selamat datang di Amerika" - did I get it right? :innocent:

  5. Ok, i have a bit of a delimea and not sure which would be best for my situation.

I have been in love and part of my Anna's life for more then 3 or more years now. We had applied and were with in about 45 days of approval on the K1 last year. We had some problem and decided to cancel the application. So that application is closed now. We have decided that our lives are best together as we cannot be without one another. Anna feels as if the K3 would be best since we had already applied for the K1. She is affraid that the authorities would feel that if one application would be cancelled then another would be too and they would not approve it.

Any thoughts or experiences as to what would be best for us.

    Thanks

    Craig

I am wondering why you cancelled the application since you could have gotten he visa by now if you had not cancelled it anyway..

Somehow I don't think it wil be big deal in the future to start k3 process

  6. Hi everyone, I'm down in Costa Rica. I don't know if this is in the right area or not but I'll try. My girlfriend, at the time, has been entering the U.S. under her B/1-B/2 VISA for several years now. She is a Colombian citizen with a Costa Rican residency. I am a gringo living in C.R. most of the time but return to the U.S. every summer. I am not a resident of C.R. We were recently merried in Costa Rica.

My question is would there be a problem for her to continue visiting the U.S. under her still valid VISA as my wife? And if we flew in together would I just need to fill out one customs form and enter together or do what I've always done in the past? Enter seperatly in different lines.

    Thanks in advance

    Wayno

Did she overstay at one of her visits? As far as I know one can only enter for max 6 months under B1/B2 visa. If she violated that term, she probably would find a problem with the K3 approval. Since I am not really sure of what you said pls help explain, thanks :)

  7. I look at my passport and they put my last name as 'surname'

Really? Are you sure? Where did you get your passport? It never happens to me and all my family, Indonesian friends. Indonesian passport only have 1 column for name ( REAL NAME ).

    Oops sorry , you're rite.

I looked again, and I was mistaken.

Yet, my last name is written as surname in my US tourist visa. So I guess Dan + Gemvita is right, this is how they see this care.

    Thanks all :)

    I mean this case

  8. What does it say on your passport? Birth Certificate?

I find this sort of thing very interesting so the answer has been bugging me.

A US Passport, other Western passport and even passports from Japan and China has a place for "surname" and then on the line below, a space for "given names" but I see the image of an Indonesian passport (see link below) just has one place for "Name/Full Name".

    http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~stevenha/me/images/passport.png

So, if this is correct, I think you have a first and middle name, for the purposes of US Immigration. If you had only one name or a one word name, it would be your "first name".

    Hello

Many thanks for the response, I really appreciate that.

I look at my passport and they put my last name as 'surname', so to avoid any problem I will just put my last name in the family name column, if the embassy asks about this I am sure I will be able to explain to them.

    What do u think guys?

  9. I had a touch on my case today, so decided to call CSC. Was told that my petition had been sent out to NVC a few days ago.....so just for the heck of it I just called NVC and they received it today! Finally out of the hands of CSC...I feel so relieved! Has anyone else received good news today?

I called NVC yesterday, our case was forwarded to the US embassy on April 30th!

    YAY!!!!

  10. Are you sure guys! I thought you have to get another type of visa on top of the one you already have to go to school. Isn't that why they ask you if you are going to go to school. I could be wrong but that is what i was told.

Before my fiance got US citizenship, he held his green card (LPR), and he went to school in States without no problem (got permanent resident / local fee too), if you check out the tuition fee list in some university it will state the categorisation anyways, whether you are international student (coming under F1 visa), or permanent resident.

    Good luck!

    I mean 'without any problem'

  12. i know the answer..first of all after u get the greencard u can apply for Financial aid or TAP whatever. only with a greencard and 2nd u wont get citizenship after THREE YEARS it will take FIVE years after u get ur greencard unless u r married to an AMERICAN CITIZEN..thats the answer and yes its a correct one no one can top it cuz i know it its a fact.
Well I couldn't find the answers I was looking for... so I'm gona ask you guys.

So, my k1 visa is approved and I'm going to get my visa by mail soon.

Anyways, I wanted to go to school when I enter in the States, but I'm concerned that my school fees are going to be expensive (because I am not a citizen...yet)! It takes 1year-ish to become a permanent resident, then it takes another 3 years to become a citizen... Right? Does that mean that during all those years, if I wanted to go to school, I would have to be an international student?

Then I won't be able to apply for a FAFSA (student aid)?

Hope somebody can answer me! Thanks a bunch!

umm she will be able to in 3 years.. she is coming in on a k1 visa which means she is going to get married to a US citizen...

Anyways, once you become a permanent resident you will get local tuition fee (you dont hv to be citizen). I don't think one yr is a long wait. I plan to go to grad school too and I'mwilling to wait, we can just take it easy while waiting, maybe you can go to community college before attending real college just like what I plan to do, just to fill your time. Cheers

  13. Good Morning my name is Chuck and my Fiancee name is Teresa ! We are right now in Ciudad Juarez waiting for an appeal for our K1 Visa ! We had an open appointment and went to that on April 16th. After waiting for about 7 months to get to this point we were denied of our Visa becasue the Consulate officer stated he believe that my fiancee and I were already married ! The consulate officer did invite us back a second time and asked that we provide him proof that we was not married and we did that with a certified letter form our goverments office ! After showing him the certified letter and providing him with emails and contacts of the person we talked to in the goverments office. THe consulate officer then stated the letter was worded wrong and that he was not going to review any other eveidence we had. The consulate officer said it was his job to approve or deny our visa and we were denied becasue he continues to believe we are married despite our evidence ! The consulate officer has no prrof to back up resaon for denial because there is no proof. Do you know how long an appeal can take ? Do you have any suggestions where we can go for help ! What can we do from here. Thank you for any insight that you have ! Sincerly Chuck and Teresa.

I am sorry, I do not understand what you mean that the officer said your letter was worded wrong. Why would he think u were married? Did u have non legal ceremony or something that was suspected by the consulate?

Pls help us a lil more to help you on that

Thanks and pls try to prevent your case from being sent back to the service center

  14. It will go to the embassy in the next couple of days . Call back Friday and they should tell you it has already shipped. K1's fly through NVC after they get a number

Silvia n Joseph thanks for your time to reply my posts! Your answer has really made me feel a lot better! I already requested day off from work on the 7th and plan to use the time to go to the US embassy in Jakarta hope it will work.

Others, thanks too for your replies :)

  15. Ok. I got a touch on my approval on April 24th. On April 25th the NVC received it, and today it was shipped to the embassy! Yeah things are finally moving along!

Now I get to wait in the long que at the Bangkok Embassy.

    Hello!

I got touch on the 22th, and then when I called NVC on the 30th, I was told my case number. Operator said case'd be forwarded in 2 until 4 weeks to the embassy. Man I hope my case will be fast forwarded to the US embassy just like Shawndoc's!

Shawndoc, did the NVC tell u when the case left it? I didn't like the answer that it'd be forwarded in 2 until 4 weeks, to the embassy, seems a lil bit too long! What do you think Folks??

  16. Dear all,

I just called NVC, after mentioning my receipt number they were matching the information about both of our names and dob's. Unfortunately line went bad and I had to disconnect since it didn't go any better. ARghhhh, kinda pissed since it took effort to get connected with operator!

This has not happened before since usually operator would answer right away that they didn't have any record of that receipt number.

So, does it mean NVC already had our case there???

What did ur experience tell? Pls let us know people!

    Thanks a lot :)

  17. Dear VJ members,

I can't talk to NVC operator for how many times I try to ring NVC, automated message comes up, and each time I hit 5 to speak to operator, it always says that all operators are busy, then its transferred back to the automated system, and then it leads back to 'please call back later,.... goodbye"

Did any of you suceed in reaching NVC yesterday or today?

Dunno what's goin on! Pls let me know
