  1. I also received last month a letter from USCIS about my eligibility to apply for citizenship… that’s why I’m confused
  2. Thank you for your response! And your help!! I didn’t know the i751 needed to be finalized in order to start the n400. Grrr I’m not sure why it’s taking so long… I moved from MA to CO which took forever for them to transfer my case ( from what I could see via the online tracking ) then they asked for more evidence which I submitted… but moved back to MA few years later . I believe my case and evidences weren’t strong / enough… I was younger and did everything by myself…. Stayed married for like 2 years with a very bad ending… maybe the whole story wasn’t enough lol I’m not sure… Right now the last online update is from Octobre 2022 - « Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken ». Whatever that means. not sure what’s next then.. im hopeless… This is my 3rd year getting those 1 year visa … such a hassle And I’ve been living in the states for almost 10years!!!! Arghhhh Thanks everyone!!
  3. Hello Everyone. I’m planning on applying for citizenship by filing the N-400. I initially obtained a 2yearsGreen Card from a first marriage but got divorce and filed a i-751 as divorcee ( provided the divorce decree in the i751 and currently still pending…since 2019 🥵) I’m now eligible for citizenship. However, since I got married last year, I’m not sure if there is a different form « to update my marital status » or should I simply include that new marriage certificate in the n-400 with the old one + divorce papers, or shouldn’t I provide any of that…? I’m a bit/big confused! I appreciate your help. Thank you!
  4. Well for the ones that find themselves in the same situation, here is the end of the story. After multiple phone calls where no one was able to help. I went in person to the American Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. Once at the gate, they refused to let me in as I’m not a American citizen but let my husband go in for me (which was kinda weird because he isn’t the petitioner. But whatever. ) he talked to many people there, they looked at my passport / visa / emails etc, all this to let him know 2hrs later they can’t help. Useless embassy, waste of time. I ended up canceling my return flight to the US and went back to my home country and stayed there awhile until I received the new visa.
  5. Hello, I’ve been waiting for my green card since 2019. And gotten the i551 / ADIT stamps few time already. When it got closer to the expiration date I contacted the USCIS to book an info pass appointment and was told it would be directly mail to me. I’ve been waiting but I still haven’t received it. Called them many times about it and had they apparently sent twice since I didn’t get the first one. Now they believe the issue comes from my mailing address even though I have the confirmation number of the address change. When I first called them I specifically told them that I was planning on leaving the country at the end of the year which would give them over 1month to proceed my request. i gotten confirmation by mail that my extension was approved and granted and should get to me whitin the next 10days. Unfortunately I had no choice but to leave the country for an emergency. Now, I find myself abroad with an expired stamp… does anyone know what would be the next step to cross the border back? Sorry for the confusion! And thank you for your help.
