  1. I think I know the answer to my question (yes), but my situation is a little different. My fiancee will come to the U.S. and travel within the U.S. before we get married. Since this would be before the 90 days of entry, her I-94 would not have expired (right?) and she can travel freely by showing it and her passport at the airport.

    Does this sound correct?

Yep, that is correct! :-) You can fly inside of the U.S. freely with passport and unexpired I-94, however if the I-94 is expired they might question you that is why it is worth bringing your NOAs and marriage certificate just in case.

I now have my EAD and soon my State ID and Driver's License which can be used for flying internally without the need of showing your passport.

Hope this helps and good luck!

  2. Congratulations everybody who got good news today.

I checked my mail and there it was my EAD card! FINALLY, it arrived on the day of my Bday so thanks USCIS for the wonderful present!

I managed to just make the Social security office and applied for my SSN on the spot and they told me I can go on Monday to collect it! HECK YEAH! Things are really moving.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! :star:

  6. Thank you so much for the warm congratulations. Anyway, just got my AP in the mail today. I already went to get my SSN ID change to my married name with no problem and also applied for my state ID. Now, I just have to wait for all of it to come in the mail the next few weeks. Lastly. congratulations to you all who got their EADs and APs and all. Good luck to us all!

    Rhosie (F)

EXCELLENT!!! I can't wait to do the same when i get the EAD in my hands! :)

Im going crazy! Congrats for everyone who has had some good news, but i want some too!!

I feel just like you and thought I was the only one of the March filers who hadn't gotten anything. I'm really very happy for everyone, but it's getting depressing, too...seeing so many who filed after me already approved or at least getting emails and touches. I'm trying to remain positive, but it's getting harder and harder

Don't you worry!! I'm sure you are gonna get something very very soon! :)

  7. so when i file and im asking this because of how we got married and stuff , we were told to have proof and i wasnt sure if this included a letter from us saying what our situation is .

I am in the same situation like you and I only send a letter stating what the package contained as well as documents showing our bona-fide relationship. They will know what your situation is (adjusting from VWP) by looking at your forms.

The questions about your personal situation will come up at the interview (if they do at all).

    Good luck with it!!!

Mind the typos... I meant that I sent a covering letter stating all the contents of the package, alongside the relevant forms as well as documents verifying our bona-fine relationship. This is not really necessary but I thought it would not hurt.

  9. I am in the USCIS blackhole & need some advice.

I originally filed my AOS/EAD/Advance Parole applications on 3/3/08. The applications were returned to me 2 weeks later as I had put a signature in the incorrect box (as a preparer instead of as the applicant...rats!) I promptly sent back my application with a new (correct) form on 3/17/08. I called 7 days later only to find out that they were again returning my application - but they would not tell me why. I have yet to receive my rejected application in the mail!!!

I have called multiple times only to hear the same robotic answer: please wait 30 days and an inquiry will be placed. So I did that & now they are telling me to wait another 30-45 days from April 28th until I call back. This is ridiculous! I sent in my corrected application nearly 8 weeks ago & they can't even tell me if they know where it is.

I asked today if I could just refile using a copy of my NOA2 - at first the guy said NO NO NO....then when I asked what I was supposed to do & if I could talk to his supervisor he said "Do whatever you want & No you can't talk to my supervisor because he won't tell you anything different than me".

I am ultimately frustrated. I don't even know what was wrong with my corrected application...I completed it using VJ & a book on Fiance Visas.....

Does anyone have any advice? I am getting desperate!

I'm so sorry you are going through so much hassle. Have you tried making an infopass appointment, that might be able to shed some light.

Hope everything gets resolved soon! Good luck!

  10. Done with my Biometrics appointment. Went at the El Monte Center around 12 PM (my appointment was set at 1 PM) and not much people though. Not much hassle and was asked to fill out a form upon entering and was given a number. Process was pretty straightforward and was out there in about 20 to 30 mins.

Anyways, so what's next in the process?

    Thanks!

Congrats on having the Biometrics completed.

The next step in the ladder is "wait, wait and wait"... If everything goes well you shall be getting the EAD and AP (if you applied for the latter). You can get a RFE at any time in the process. You can also get transferred or called to go to an interview... Just take it easy because this process is long and tedious. However i have found this forum very helpful and seeing how others are doing it does give one hope and encouragement.

All the best and good luck in your journey!

  11. I just saw this post and could not help but reply...

I would like to take my husband's last name, however since I have a Spanish passport (even though I'm UK resident) it will be more hassle than it is worth. I just wish Spain would let you do whatever you want with your surname. We feel obliged to keep our last name when some of us would actually like to take our husband's one... I believe this is a matter of personal choice not a country's personal agenda nor stupid bureaucracy.

  12. I went to interview to Disney. applied for position called -telephone operator-sales agent... when they offered me $8 per hour -minus taxes I thought - it is ok.. i need to start from something while I am applying for the best jobs... but after interview she said that I am not proper one I thought I will fall down on the floor... master degree, certification of a military interpreter from school in London, credentials from British Government and this... ha.... oh well.. I guess i need to wait for my green card and go to work with Army as my qualification is military interpreter, and anyway they invited me... but i am ok, and still applying for different jobs...

Don't you worry Elmira, about the job at Disney I'm pretty sure you were over-qualified and that was the reason they didn't hire you. But things will be ok :) I have experienced the same problem when applying for some jobs and got the same response. I also have a Masters degree from London and excellent credentials.

The search goes on... Don't give up and best of luck to you!

  13. Hi there same here. Entry is B2 then applied for AOS. I-130 was approved on Nov 2007. What are you gonna say if you were asked about what did you tell the immigration officer at the point of entry? might lead to a fraud? because b2 is for pleasure only. Dunno been thinkin about this.

I did not enter on B2 but VWP. Had a return ticket, letter from my employer, my lease back home in the UK and to top things up I was in the middle of getting divorced. Long story but to cut things short there was no intention at the port of entry. It was later on when in a spur of the moment decision we decided to married. An immigration paralegal advised me to adjust status in the U.S. since it is legal for immediate relatives of U.S citizens to do so.

    This time its:

    Receipt Number: MSCXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On May 8, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION.

Last time: WAS JUST CARD PRODUCTION????!

I also got the same e-mail. How many e-mails are they gonna send us before we get the EAD in our hands????

Don't worry it probably means they have posted it already, but sheesh! They do like keeping the suspense right?

  14. Just checked the mailbox and finally got my EAD card!   I am so happy and tomorrow we'll be going to get my state ID and go to SSA to get my name change to my married name. So, excited to see all the good things coming! Being positive is indeed great! Just posted a while back that the EAD card might be waiting for me in the mailbox and it was really there. How wonderful! :star:

    Rhosie (F)

That is fantastic! Congratulations! I hope my EAD comes soon, I already received my AP in the mail :)

  15. No way girl!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! This is great!!!! You are kind of guiding start for us!!!! So now we know we gonna be soon :) Good luck with interview tomorrow!!! I have been qualified as a military interpreter for US Army, so they told me to call them as soon as I have green card so i can start working with them!!! Congratulations again!

    Hi Elmira,

You mean they require you to have the Green Card to work? or just EAD is enough? Congratulations anyways. Hope to get our EAD's in mailbox today.

Yeah... i need to have a green card or be a citizen.. it is government job.. but they are very keen, I guess, and asked me to call them as soon as i have green card.. but for now I am applying everywhere.. i am interpreter but same time I even applied for Disney administration position (I live in orlando)...

I love my job (as a military interpreter), so hopefully I will stick with Army...

Good luck Elmira, your determination will definitely help you achieve all your goals! You'll go far! All the best!!

Hi there I just replied to your post on the March Filers forum and I forgot to mention that it'll be easier if you ad your timeline to your signature, that way you don't have to type it everytime you post on here and we can all see how you are getting along with your application.

The way to do this is:

Go to "My Controls" and on the left hand side you will see the "Personal Profile" section. Click on the "Edit Signature" and voilá!

    Hope this helps!
