  1. It is embassy specific, but for what it's worth, I reached out to the Lusaka, Zambia embassy through their email contact info. I was was told not submit the DS-160 yet until she receives an email with dropoff date and interview date. They did confirm that the case was received. We were told that she will submit the DS-160 on a specified date. I see you have been waiting over a year now; we submitted in August and our case was last updated 3/28/24, so I can definitely relate to the frustration of waiting! Hang in there! From what I understand, the receipt number for payment should be the Invoice ID# you need to schedule an appointment.
  2. I received the NOA1 and NOA2 in the mail. Everything else has been through inquiries. No text messages, no proactive emails. Just keep on them!
  3. Great. I don't really know and I don't know your financial situation so I can't recommend either for you. Look at the options and see what works best for you. Good luck!
  4. I know it can get frustrating. I looks like 60% of the similar cases have received NOA2 now. Not quite everyone, but it sure gets frustrating when most cases have processed. Looking at https://***removed due to spam***/i129f I see that 9.1% of July filers (278 cases) are still stuck in RFE and USCIS processed 15 July RFE cases in the last week. It's slow, but it's moving. They are mostly processing new cases received in December 2023 and January, and your RFE lines up with when they "should have" processed your case. My guess is as they continue processing new cases received in December and January, yours will be coming up very soon. I subscribed to Trackmyvisa for the last month or two of my case and got more info than I could find on the free site I linked above. Once your cases moves on, they automatically cancel your subscription. Purchasing a subscription and getting better data may help you feel like you have a better understanding of things, or at least allow you to distract yourself with data! Hang in there! The waiting is the hardest part, especially when it seems everyone else is getting their stuff done and you're being left behind.
  5. Sure, no problem! You can just click on "Timeline" under my info on the left side of this message and follow the instructions from there. You have your dates all in order, so it should be pretty simple. Then it will give you options to views similar timelines to give you a better idea of what has happened historically (and possibly concurrently) with similar cases.
  6. Hey, It will simplify things if you complete your timeline through the system. Did you receive a NOA1 yet? Do you have a receipt number? NOA2? Was the January 26th letter a Request for Evidence (RFE)? It looks like your case is going through the UK, so there should be plenty of people who can help you since that is a pretty popular embassy for this kind of thing. Hopefully you can get that filled out and start getting some answers soon!
  7. Hey, this thread seems pretty much dead, but we are waiting for the email from the Lusaka consulate. It showed READY on the CEAC site 30 days ago. Through emails with the embassy, they have confirmed that the case was received, and that they will email her and let her know dates to drop off paperwork and have indicated that she will submit the DS-160 when she drops off her other paperwork. I have not found much about Zambia on here, but this process doesn't seem to match what I've read about most of what other locations. Any ideas if we should continue waiting to submit the DS-160 online?
  8. Oh no! I looks like you've followed the process https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center/immigrant-visas-processing-general-faqs.html#ivp13 and that the Nairobi embassy is hesitant to accept. Would it be possible to maybe try to get an appointment in a nearby visa free embassy like Kampala, Dar es Salaam, Lusaka, Harare, etc. or even try Johannesburg (I know flights from most of southern Africa to J'Burg are usually pretty affordable, but it looks like a Ugandan citizen requires an eVisa)?
  9. Sounds like maybe it's time for another public inquiry. Also I have had quicker responses with the embassy who has confirmed that it was received there and she will receive an email with further instructions, but she still doesn't have an email. So we're still just waiting to submit the DS-160 and working on getting all of the documents lined up.
  10. Hey, from what I understand, it is different with each embassy. Forms are generally sent in batches once an embassy tells the NVC they are ready for more petitions. Have you done an NVC public inquiry or emailed the embassy yet? Those would be my next steps. And just wait and see. 😒 Mine shows it was received at the embassy but after an email exchange, it seems we are just in a wait and see pattern too until she receives her email with further instructions.
  11. Thanks. Yeah, so far no packet, no email. CEAC shows it was received in Lusaka on March 28. I emailed the consulate this week to ask if it was okay to submit the DS-160 without having received the letter and was simply told that they will reach out to her to let her know the drop-off date (for documents) and interview date. So I guess we just hang out with the fully prepared DS-160 and she doesn't submit it yet...
  12. Hey all, I have submitted an inquiry to NVC and got my case number and using that it looks like it was received at the embassy. Just waiting on the packet to be sent to my fianceé now. Anyway, I found a set of message threads that you may find useful for K1 filers who have received their NOA2s. Mine was mistitled as February 2023, but the March 2024 one is also up if you're in that group. Here's the link to the February 2024 thread if you're interested in following along there.
  13. Now K-1 our case is showing READY on the CEAC website with a received date two days after sent from NVC. Zambia seems to have a very low-traffic embassy (at least based on the lack of members on this site), so timelines are hard to come by. My understanding is that the next move is to continue waiting on the packet from the embassy and the Invoice ID while also working through the I-134 and DS-160. Is this pretty much where we should be?
  14. Yes! I requested it last week and received a response yesterday with the case number! Thanks
  15. I know it's an older thread, but if you're still looking for places to travel, my fianceé is Zambian and we visited Dubai in January. Her flight was on Emirates and they have a simple UAE visa application process you can use. Also I know you mentioned you don't want to go to the countries that are visa-free for her, but South Africa doesn't require visas for either of you and Delta has direct flights from Atlanta to Johannesburg (daily) and Cape Town (2-3 times a week) that you can generally find for under $1,000 if your scheduled is somewhat flexible.
  16. I think this group is for February 2024 but it is named February 2023. I received my NOA2 on February 23, 2024 but have not received an NVC case number yet. Is anyone else in this same position? If I am posting in the wrong group, please direct me to the right place because I can't seem to find it!
  17. If it's any consolation, I received my NOA2 dated February 23rd and almost 5 weeks later have heard nothing. Just waiting, waiting, waiting. 😕
  18. Also keep in mind that your date was the 23rd, which is well over 50% of the way through the month. Mine was the 4th. They'll get there!
  19. Congratulations! I didn't even receive an SMS, just an email from TrackMyVisa and when I checked on the USCIS website it confirmed.
  20. NOA1 dated 8/4/23. Form I-129f approved this evening 2/23/24. Now to wait on the mail. Hang in there, August people!
  21. From what I can tell, they process urgent needs pretty quickly (e.g., Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Palestine, Sudan). It looks like they are focused on May and June with some outliers from September and October. At the rate things have been going, it looks like Tim's mid-March prediction seems like a good estimate still!
