  1. Hi @MonB. You mentioned 2 years wait time, and here you mentioned 1 full year. Can you please let us know if it was 1 or 2 years under administrative processing? From the interview time to receiving communication that AP was completed?
  2. Thank you for writing about this. Although my case is not Family Based (Employment Based), I hope that administrative processing will take around the same for us. I am entering the 10th month of wait in AP, after interview. BTW, not asking for myself, but I don't think you can have it handled by the embassy in Ottawa, can you? Montreal Consulate is the only center handling Immigrant Visas, right? Anyhow, congrats, and all the best!
  3. WTH! 4 years in AP??? Sorry, I am still in AP for 9 months, so have no input to help you...
  4. So, on Friday Aug 15, I checked my status and it showed "At NVC" (after showing "refused") for the past 7 months, being in AP. I got excited and thought something is moving in my AP process. But 2 hours later, checked again, and it showed "refused" again. Nothing changed. It must have been a system glitch. Sharing this here for people who may face the same thing. Don't get excited!
  5. Congrats! Can you please share a bit more? - What visa category were you in? - why do you think you were put in AP? Country of birth? the type of work you do? - how long did the AP process take for you? Thank you!
  6. Nice!!! Congrats! Do you mind sharing a bit more about your timeline? You said 4 years, but how much of that was AP? From interview (being put in AP) to email requesting your passports?
  7. I haven't lost hope yet, but looks like it will take a long time. I am also in a field listed in TAL and born in Iran. Been in AP since Jan 2025. I am preparing to wait for another year at least ...
  8. Hello all, Has anyone recently seen any movement in their cases? Any Administrative Processing finished recently?
  9. BTW, what does your case status say? Any change? Any last update date?
  10. Sorry to hear this. Although I have not seen such a case before, I have seen many odd scenarios here in this forum. So, I am not surprised. It's a very inconsistence practice there. I suggest you keep bugging them and pointing out that it was them who told you it was over. Ask them to check with the Visa Officer...
  11. Oh wow! Congratulations for finally getting over the finish line...
  12. Hi, sorry, I am not answering your question, but have a question for you. Where you put in AP? If yes, how long after you submitted DS-5535 did you receive your request for passport (i.e., how long did the AP take)?
  13. Hi, can you please share more? What category? Were you put in AP? Do you know why you were put in AP? How long after the interview did you status change to Issued? Thanks!
  14. Got it, I am sure you have done that, but definitely keep sending the consulate emails and request for the file to be sent to the doctor.
  15. I think that's a good update. Why do you doubt the legitimacy of the response? Wasn't it in response to your request? Maybe follow up with them and tell them the Medical Doctor doesn't have your file yet. Did the consulate ask you to do another medical? If not, why do you wanna do another one? I understand that after all this time it's expired now, but if consulate os not asking, why do you bother? What Visa Category are you and your spouse in?
  16. Adding to this, I just got an email, in response to my email from Jan 20th, where the office confirms that they have received my documentation and DS5535 form and that they have initiated the AP process. There is now another update on the case, Jan 30 2025.
  17. Hi all, I was refused and put in Administrative Processing. Here is the timeline after the interview. My question is if all these updates to my case during a short period of time seem normal, or could indicate anything (positive or negative): Jan 10, 2025: Interview - refused and put in AP Jan 11, 2025: I sent the documents requested in the AP letter (resume, etc.) Jan 13, 2025: case updated Jan 20, 2025: I sent an email asking them if they could confirm that they had sent my AP documents to relevant departments - I received no response Jan 24, 2025: case updated (maybe as a result of my email , someone looked at my case? Jan 27, 2025: case updated (unsolicited - why?) Jan 29, 2025: case updated (unsolicited - why?) If it was a few months after my interview, I would say maybe my AP is done. But in just 2 weeks after the interview, I am not sure why there are few updates to my case. Thoughts?
  18. Congratulations! So it more than 1 year for your AP to clear? And then 3 months after that to receive your passport?
  19. The newest Executive Order from the US administration, mentions: identify all resources that may be used to ensure that all aliens seeking admission to the United States, or who are already in the United States, are vetted and screened to the maximum degree possible; This to me means possible longer AP times...
  20. Congratulations. Where you put in AP? How long did the AP take after completing DS5535?
  21. Where do you see this type of information? I haven't ever seen this page with this information and background... Anyway, it probably means someone is working on your case and as soon as they touch it, something changes in the system...
