  1. Hannah--

The actual application asks for your former names used including maiden name. They will get it without you explaining. Yes use your trips. Boarding passes on the same plane with seat numbers beside each other shows you traveled together. Add a photo together on the trip.

I read your other list. Just look at your things and choose what has both names/same address on it.

    The joint credit card- Yes

A credit card only in your name - No since you have a joint one for evidence.

His driver's license - No since you don't have a matching one with the same address. He doesn't have to prove where he lives.

Baby - any bills/papers with both you names - Yes

Ultrasound photo - not unless both your names appear on it

Photos - Vito and pregnant Hannah together -Yes

Mail - Anything with both your names/address on it like bills, Christmas cards, wedding invitations to establish you live at the same address.

    And everything else joint.

We only have the joint bank account statements coming in both our names.....I'm on his credit card bill and all baby bills come in my name only....we may have one or two dentist bills if they didn't get thrown out that came to him and are bills for both of us so my name is on the bill too. however his insurance sends these statements each month to him only and it lists the different claims they have processed for each of us...so the baby bills from said dr would come up under my name on the statement addressed to Vito....the phone bill we used last time and it comes to my hubby and mil but I'm on the bill part again....that's about all we have in terms of both names.. :bonk: I'd rather overkill i guess because i'm not too fond of going downtown for along wait in a line this half of my pregnancy...as for cards didn't save that many envelopes. man i feel stupid. :crying:

  2. Absolutely. They show trips that you've taken together as fiancees or as husband and wife. They are evidence that you are traveling and vacationing as a couple. Better to have too much evidence than not enough. Make sure it's obvious that *both* of you traveled together.

My wife saved all of our ticket stubs for her "scrapbook" that she'll take to the interview. I'll need a hand truck to carry it.

    Care,

    Bill

 thanks we have photos but wasn't sure if it would look odd or confusing that the evidence was in the wrong name lol perhaps if i right a addendum to accompany them explaining that the tickets while bought and used after marriage and name change are in a different name due to the requirement that all tickets be as the passport is and we havent got round to changing the name yet?

  3. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/314304-evidence-of-bonafide-relationship/

the above link is what I can think of as what we can provide so far as evidence for our packet..in case that makes a difference as to the answer..

I don't think we have many financially commingled assets to provide as proof other than health insurance and joint bank account and I am an authorized user on his credit card and he pays for mine but i'm not sure how to prove the last bit.

I don't drive (no car or insurance to share) and we don't own a home and the old manager although she made a comment as if she was going to add me to the rental agreement, doesn't seem to have after all and we wish to move soon so don't want to tie ourselves down to another 18 month lease for another bit of evidence unless i have to.

I was thinking of adding any ticket stubs and paperwork form our holidays together that I can find....however because of the cost of the pasport renewal and constantly bad timing (dad sick in uk, holiday coming up, thought we were going to move sooner) we haven't changed the name on my passport yet....so all the tickets etc are in my maiden name and my green card and the rest of my life is conducted in my married name............

So my question is...should I include the ticket stubs or boarding passes that are in maiden name as evidence even though green card is different or not bother?

  4. Hannah, it's not about proving income like before. This is now proving "jointness." His Affidavit of support didn't even have to be joint. The W2 only has his name on it. A Turbotax joint filing with only his W2 would be easy to fake. A transcript comes from IRS records. And I've seen a number of RFEs asking specifically for transcripts. I only submitted page 1 of our transcripts because that showed both our names filing jointly, which was all they needed to see, not our whole income.

If you call 1-800-908-9946 (the transcript line), there is an automated system for ordering transcripts. You'll have to enter Vito's Social Security number and the numbers of your street address. It will generate an automated request to mail your transcripts.

Thanks Nich-Nick I am guessing then by just using his ssn and our street address the tax transcript will have us both on it automatically because we filed jointly? reading that back that sounds like the most obviously stupid question ever :unsure:

  5. I'm making a list of things as evidence I need to get together this week to send off as evidence with my packet.

But I'm not sure if what I think I can get together will be enough or good enough. :crying: Also I am not too sure as to how much of each evidence I should send (i.e. how many bank statements or bills over a two year period? 4? 6? 12?)

If you guys could peruse over my shopping list and let me know if you think somethings missing or if you think that something doesn't hold enough weight without something or is too much. thanks

    this is my list..

the form and fee (obviously  )plus cover letter.

copy of my green card front and back

copy of husbands driving license with this address. (I don't have one of my own nor do I have the state ID)

Copies of Joint tax transcripts for years 09 and 10.

Copies of joint bank account (just one account) statements since Sept 09. (Not sure how many to provide)

Copies of husbands health insurance statements since Sept 09 showing coverage of and usage by both of us.

Copies of some of my dr bills relating to current pregnancy and also joint dentist bills. (thought they could match them up to the health insurance statement and shows same address)

copies of my husbands credit card bills (of which I am an authorized user and show up under my name on the bill) since Sept 09.

Copies of my credit card bills (not as long standing as other evidences I've listed) with proof of payment using my husbands bank account if I can work out how

Copies of family plan phone bill in Mother in laws name but with both my husband and I on it as listed family/phone lines.

other than that I may be able to find (if i can work out where it went) a copy of myself being a beneficiary of one of my husbands savings accounts. but all other utilities come in Mother in laws name.....and I have very little other than junk mail coming to me...though hubby doe have one or two other things coming in his name if i need more proof of address?

I doesn't seem I was ever added to this lease agreement and we will be moving soon so pointless to go through the rigmarole of finally getting me added I can't think of any other primary evidence. We commingle everything we have and every aspect but we don't really have much that gets put on paper. :bonk:

other things I thought might be worth sending as secondary evidence but I'm not sure about are

wedding photos from 09 (had our interview after wedding but she never took any wedding photos as her copies just every day dating photos that they had already seen at k1 interview)

photos from three separate holidays in 09 10 and just recently 11(family were present in all)

can provide some other pictures two from the past two years and also some copies of our baby's scans.

I could probably provide a little bit of proof in terms of ticket stubs etc and entry stamps for two of the holidays but my green card is in my married name as is every other aspect of my life now...but my passport is still in my maiden name because I haven't got round to changing it yet. and so therefore all the tickets/paperwork for me is in my old name.

can also provide a small scattering of copies of anniversary/xmas/baby cards if its worth including?

Thanks for your in put

  6. first off.....I was told by a friend that the IRS joint tax transcripts would be better than out turbotax print outs and w2 copies?

aside from a comment I just saw on here, is there any other reason other than turbo tax copies maybe doctored that they are better than and is the turbo tax paper work really worthless? that along with our w2s is what we sent last time but we did get an interview but they said nothing about our taxes

secondly if we send the joint IRS tax transcripts should we also send the w2s? (will only be hubby's as i am a house wife therefore no income of my own or w2) and do we just post the photocopies or the originals of the tax transcripts?

thirdly.....is the how do we get them...I was told automated phone number..does anyone have this number? and what information do we need at hand when ordering them? is it just our ssns or will we need some special code off of something?

    thanks in advance

  7. Before I was assuming we'd be approved, but now can say for sure we got approved

    1. No babies
    2. No joint mortgage
    3. Not beneficiary on health or life insurance or pension
    4. Different last names
    5. No joint utilities
    6. No affidavits

    We did have

    1. Joint checking account
    2. Joint tax transcripts (2 yrs)
    3. Joint car insurance
    4. Joint credit card
    5. Joint trip to UK
    6. Drivers licenses at same address
    7. Joint cat Ozzy :luv:
    8. Many photos covering 2 years of everyday life

Say what you will about photos, but I think my photo essay said alot about our life together. No way did we look like fraudsters, despite the lack of some of the more traditional evidence. The adjudicator probably looked at us and said, "Awwwwww what a sweet old couple." :P

I forgot about our trips together  only problem is the tickets are in my maiden name as i'm too stingy to pay the money twce in two years to update it and my greencard is in married name. hope that doesn't matter much.

  8. 1. Joint Tax return transcript

    2. Joint lease signed by both party

    3. Children born to the marriage

    4. Life insurance policy

    5. Joint health insurance

    6. Driver's License showing common residence

this is an interesting list  I'm a little late on the uptake as I could have sent it all off on the 9th but I've been feeling crappy and we were away for two weeks right before. I'm trying to get everything done this week and hopefully get tax trascripts by the end of the week or beginning of next so we can send off. problem i have is we do lots of evidence of bonafide relationship but we don't really have the paper trail to back it up...

    for example...

    1. we can do this as we have filed joint both years we were married.

    2. we don't have house of our own yet so no mortgage although I may or may not be apart of a pre-approval process in a few weeks but I doubt it as I am a housewife with no income of my own. we co rent with my Mum in law and the place we were in hubby and mum in law rented just before (a couple of months) we met. as a result I was not on the original lease agreement and they never renewed just went to month to month (if we have to live here for much longer one of us is going to snap, its badly managed recently) the old manager made out like she was going to put me on the rental agreement when she found out we were getting married but it doesn't look like she has..and the new manger is difficult to get hold of for even basic maintenance. so by the time I get this packet off no paperwork showing me and him on the same rental agreement either.

    3. I'm 5 months pregnant right now and she wont finish baking till after my conditional runs out... the best I can do to prove pregnancy is show that my hubby's health insurance is paying my medical bills for the pregnancy, the copy of the scan pics, maybe a pic of me and him with bump. and to cover it it the cover letter though I'm not sure how to word that?

    4. if either of us have one of those its probably in his health insurance.

    5. I'm on his so we can do that. :)

    6. can show his.......I'm still too chicken ###### to go get one. :(

other than that most of our financial commingling is mostly done through credit cards...I'm on his and he also pays for mine (don't worry guys I can't drive so rarely spend money unsupervised..lol) and I'm on the family plan for the mobile phones (my name is one there for my number but its his mums bill she pays it all and we pay her in turn) we have the usual joint bank account and I may be the beneficiary of one other of his savings accounts which is the only one he opened after we married but I'm not sure how to prove that if I am. the other bills come to mils name, and otherwise sometimes the dentist bills us both on same bill as we go together. I don't really have any bills of my own other than the credit card because I don't earn on my own so whats the point? I hope we have enough evidence because I really don't want to be in an hour or more long wait in downtown LA and my waters break or something... :bonk:

  9. I asked this in the removal of conditions forum a couple of weeks ago but I still as of yet to get a response.

First off I have to say I have had a bit of a bad experience in the past with getting USCIS to match up the right info, send us the right info/forms/certificates and just generally update our info correctly...and trying to fix it was a gauntlet. It took them over a year to accept they messed up and send us the noa2 from our k1 that were were meant to send to my hubby in the first place. we finally got it two weeks before my aos interview. they forgot to send my biometrics appointment for my aos and when I came to updating my ssn card for the right surname after green card was received they forgot to update my married name even in the computer system even though it was on my green card and all correspondence. :bonk: so you can understand my weariness at asking for complications or confusion. :crying: I just don't want the stress and arguing with a call center rep trying to fix it as they never accept anything is wrong.

but my conditional runs out early Sept, so we will be filing or removal of conditions around mid to late June. However we must move before October but we have yet to find a new place therefore its unlikely we will know and have moved before we can file.

So its most probable that while my removal of conditions is waiting on a desk to be adjudicated and while I'm waiting for my biometrics to be sent, that we will move and I will have to send of the form to notify them of my new change of address. I'm worried that something wont be matched up properly and the biometrics or new green card will be sent to the old address or something. :bonk:

Has anyone had experience with having to file for paperwork and then move and have to notify while its pending? did go smoothly or did it mess it all up?

    Thanks in Advance.

  10. Hi all,

My conditional G/C expires the beginning of Sept this year. So I will most likely be sending the paper work of this mid June at the earlier part of the 90 day period. :innocent:

However we will have to be (hopefully  ) moving by October this year and I know you are obligated to report the change of address within 10 days of moving.

but my concern is...it's very unlikely we will even know where we will be moving to let alone move by late June, I even question whether we will make our October deadline at this rate. Will there be complications form filing our removal of conditions and then while its in limbo (waiting to be processed) report a change of address?

I'm worried they wont match up my records properly and send the new card to this address. I'm not even sure they have even changed my surname properly on all their systems and I have had the worst luck with them updating my systems and send the right notifications properly so far in our progress. it was a real headache and very stressful.

    Thanks in advance :star:

  11. Medical records listing your husband as an emergency contact, medical insurance covering both of you, etc. A pregnancy as opposed to a child, does not create much "evidence" in itself, and a pregnancy proves you had sex (with someone anyway) not that you have a legitimate marriage and life together. The medical records prove that, so do insurance records. It is certainly not necessary to have children together (or even dependent children from one or the other) in order to remove conditions.

No Not necessary to remove conditions  that's not what we were thinking about when this baby was conceived

thanks for the suggestions everyone...I'll start looking for the things you suggested....

  12. I know or rather remember from AOS, that there considered two types of supporting evidence. Primary and secondary. the first being things that had dates and info etc from legitimate third parties that were less likely to be doctored or altered. and then things like affidavits from friends and photos etc.

At my AOS interview, my interviewing officer made a point to tell us that if when we remove conditions we have children that we must or rather need to send the certified copies of the birth certificates.

I forgot to ask though :bonk: "what if we are pregnant at time of filing and the baby is not due till after we file/conditional green card expires?"

obviously there will not be a birth certificate yet............ I'm not sure what would be considered "good" or "primary" evidence to send to show of the pregnancy. I mean aside from the fact that my married name is on the scan pictures, and my medical bills are being sent to our address plus being processed by my husbands insurance, there's not really anything "official" in documentation yet to show that the USC (my husband) is the father. and there's no way in hell I am risking an amino or cvs unless its medically necessary, let alone to "bump up" the thickness of my evidence folder.

:help: what did everyone send in from their pregnancies as evidence?

    Thanks in advance

  13. The 2nd attempt would probably sound better. Not bad though. The first attempt is what everyone tries first time, at least until she puts them straight.

    A.

yay well I do try...I wish I could speak welsh. but my dad couldn't rememebr a word and the fluent welshie in the family (grandad passed on before I was born :( )

So back to afanen. I have two online English to welsh dictionary's that are translating raspberry into either afanen (afan) or mafonen [mafon, f.] So I am assuming it literally is the word for raspberry and may not be a real name...that said Seren is a real name and that translated too but Hedref didn't.

there is a welsh girl online and shes never heard of afanen as namae or even for raspberry but she say's it could be a regional descrepancy. but she also said that girls names don't end with just en they usually have wen and it doesn't sound welsh to her. that said seren has no w and my welsh friend suggested it.

  14. And I forgot to mention that my mum's name is Eleri, which no-one can ever pronounce on first attempt

    A.

Elle ree or elle er ee? i saw it on line but i can't remember how it's meant to go.......al the names in my dads family theres two female names Katharine my half aunt and a great aunt called Olwyn or Olwen..THE REST ARE BOYS :/ SO Brynlys Williams and Daniels and terry's lol :bonk:

  15. How aboit Sian? I had a huge crush on Sian Williams when I was in high school (F). I never got very good at Welsh, I do remember language lessons were compulsory until 3rd form in high school. Mind you I grew up in Mynydd Isa which, if you look on a map, is almost England.

It's not a unique girls name but very Welsh.

    Good luck!

    Alex.

Thanks :) making a list of them we have months to choose one if it's a girl  . I was really hooked on afanen though so i'm desperate to find out about it a little more. :)

  16. This might be of interest to you: http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/forum/topic113811.html because it lists more welsh names. There's some really pretty ones!

Though this one: http://www.behindthename.com/name/afanen/comments explains that the F is pronounced as a V.

I'm Scottish/Australian, not Welsh but thought I'd try and help anyway.

i saw that pronunciation explanation but i took it with a pinch of salt as i know ffrog = dress is pronounced like frog as we would say it so don't know if that f is like a v or an f or not.. *edit i just asked my friend and he said it would be like the v sound...

thanks for the links believe it or not those are two of them i found it on lol

  17. Unfortunately even though I'm part welsh I never got the chance to learn the language :bonk: and was brought up in England so I'm not up on all names or the language myself even though I wish I was, but I want to find a girls name that is unique and blatantly welsh.

I've found one on line that's come up on a lot of sites when I Google welsh girls names but there's not much info in it or history and I want to check that it's real name and not tantra-mount to naming a child sandwich  "cos it sounds cool" lol.

I've asked my one and only welsh speaking welsh friend and he's never heard of it himself but I'm wondering if it's a modern name and that's why he's never heard of it (he's my dads age).

this is the name and what I have found :help:

Afanen - (no given pronunciation) described as rare in usage, some sites it's described as a modern welsh girls name, history UN-known, meaning behind it raspberry.

If anyone has heard of it before and knows if its new or a real name or even the correct pronunciation that would e appreciated thanks in advance :luv:

  18. The financial; support requirement exists going to the UK too and I couldn't financially sponsor him like he could me going to the USA.

He liked his job and also loves where he lives and didn't want to move. I on the other hand was in a job I intended to quit, and always expected to move away to London or even to another country (although America never crossed my mind to be honest) if I could find a job in the fashion industry which was my training. So emotionally I was already set up for the possibility of emigrating for other reasons just wasn't prepared to move this far away.......So finances and also I was more open to moving than him so it was the more logical option for me to move than him.

  19. Wow it's been a while since I've been on here, hope you all are well.

my 90 days for removal of conditions is fast approaching and I thought I would start refreshing myself with what I need, what I have to do e.t.c. and I have a few questions I was hoping someone out there might know.

First off I'm wondering about the likely-hood of interview. Now I'm not from what was classed as from a high fraud rate country and I don't think personally I had many red flags (I'd say I had zero red flags as our relationship is genuine but I'm not an uscis officer so I don't know what they think is a "red flag")the only thing I can think of either maybe it was because maybe our noa2 from k1 was not in the packet when we filed (uscis's original fault not ours)or perhaps we don't have the gold standard evidence like a rental agreement with my name on it? (had plenty of other commingling assets/bills but if I'm not working therefore not paying I'm not going to be on everything am I?)But never the less after finally getting them to belatedly give me my biometrics appointment, they called me for an interview. I don't mind going for an interview, the last one was pleasant enough and not a hassle, but I'd like to minimize the likely hood of being called for one this time as my GC ends in sept and sept/oct will not be convenient time for us this year  . So if they interviewed us once does that mean they will want to do one again this time? :help: or is it about evidence in the packet when you post off each time?

O.K. Second question, Passport of Green card holder, is it needed at time of filing or interview? we still haven't got round to changing my last name on mine :bonk: , due to cost and timing. I was thinking of doing it after our next holiday so wont be able to get it sent off till july maybe. of course it probably wont be back by Sept. Would that be a problem or would it be a problem that I still have my passport in my maiden name when it comes to removing conditions?

I think those are the main ones for now that I'm worried about, the rest is mostly about evidence. but I will go searching for those before I post, as I'm sure others have asked before.

    Thanks In Advance :)

  20. Once the license expires, do you just renew when you get the GC? or do you have to go through the licensing process and testing again??

And it is 10 days until you can no longer drive.

I'm not sure exactly.....in that case I thought it would be a transfer because when hubby's license expired (he's the USC and I noticed cos we dont have to do this in uk ) he didn't have to take a test, I think he just updated his picture and eye exam. But it could be different for residents. I have to take my theory and all again I think because I didn't actualy take and pass the practical before the temp licence expired......I think they gave me the wrong one cos online the learners permit is described as 12 months mine was only good for 60 days :(. Oh well.

If you share which city in cally you will be living in perhaps others can come forward with more specific suggestions and advice...... Such as this is a good place to visit in walking distance or take this bus and that bus to get to etc....plus there are quite a few expat communities in Cali perhaps you can add to your support network.

  21. Maybe i missed something...but why can't you drive in Cali with ur Canadian license? I have cousins who visit all the time here in VA/NC and they drive their vehicles and mine all the time! Just apply for ur CALI DL and keep driving on ur Canadian DL till you get ur CA DL! B-)

I'm not sure if I'm remembering this right, but I thought I remembered there being only a certain amount of time you can drive on your foreign license or out of state license before you have to change it to a ca one if you are now a resident. I.e. Visiting for three months you can drive on the international license the entire time, but move to live here and you can only use it for............somebody help me out here, how long was it? I want to say 10 days for some reason, but I can't remember. I have seen it posted on vj looong ago. :/

  22. I tried to get my driving license in Los Angeles last year but I let it drop. Unlike you I couldn't drive already in my own country and I had 60 days after passing the theory to learn and pass the practical. It's just too busy here for me to have the confidence to move the car and not freak out. I need a big open space to practice and hubby and I havent found it yet. From memory you need Photo ID in the correct name you wish the license to be in, ssn in that same name(first attempt they couldn't process my learners permit cos it was under my maiden name still) , plus proof of .......not sure residency is the right word for it, but ead will work. There must be at least 60? days (my memory is bad i think it was 60) left of validity on your proof I think it was too so it you go with your k1 and there's less than 60 days left on it when you pass your test they won't give you the license till you come in with a renewed proof on residency. License will only be valid for the same amount of time as the proof you use too so if you use ead the license will void the same day as ead.

My FILs wife is quite a dependant person and she used tO take the bus a lot to places. I haven't yet as it confussed the he'll outa me. It's not like the London tube :( I rely on hubby and MIL To take me places

but hoping next year i'll have the guts to try again for my licence. As far as not being safe to walk. In LA some are safer than others. I would walk to albersons on my own from FILs place easily and if I wasn't so lazy I would prob walk to cvs from our place and not feel too freaked out. But our areas are not that bad and area
