  1. still waiting no update since bio done, still no updates for our month? that sucks!

:( want to get it finished :)

Oh how I wish I could accommodate your request for an update for our month........... :( but I can't :crying:

still no touches here either. they seem to be so sporadic. the odd random approval from ours or last or the month before.....not what i expected...I expected to see a fair few of each month done then they cross over to the next...its almost like they have slowed down to not much of any month.:bonk:

Was hoping that they would have maintained their speed and have my green card in hand before I had to change address. makes me feel nervous about it when its still pending. not had good experiences with uscis updating my info correctly on the computer in the past :help: hope it comes before the 12th of next month because if they send it to this address we wont get it :( will have to send the new address in next week. :help:

  2. still no updates for our month? that sucks!

we get the keys to the new house today.....guess that means we have to register change of address soon. what is it ten days?

is that ten days from possession or habitation because we wont be moving in for at least another week and half if that due to plumbing and electrics to be fixed plus tenting the dam thing. I think Friday after next might be the first day we move.

I know i can register my change of address online using a form but what about hubby. he was also my sponsor at the beginning. Is it true i have to mail in a separate form for him and cant do it electronically? Also worried about my green card being pending still. I don't know how long we will have access to this address if there is a mess up. :help: I don't trust the current influx of neighbors and the manager is a bit oblivious difficult to get hold of and MIA most of the time.

Im worried even though we will register change of address with the post office and do the forms for uscis as they require that it will end up here after we have given the keys over and it will get stolen or lost. uggh i wish we had found the house earlier so we could have filed with the new address from the start. :bonk:

  3. just been looking up the esta process for my parents when they come over in a few weeks.

tried looking up the new "fee" and it states its in two parts one for processing and if approved there's an additional $10.00. but it doesn't state what the processing fee before the $10.00 dollars is? :bonk:

anybody know what the current fee is? aside from the additional $10.00

  4. As far as this state should be rolling in money? lol don't get my hubby started on that, its pretty dismal isn't it....they find every way and option possible to get money off the locals and still they don't have enough for everything, the roads are awful I don't need to run out to find a bumpy road to set off labor when the time comes every road is bumpy.. but then they put trees in some streets when the residents don't want the trees in the first place :bonk: ...

I've been here since early 09...still not got many friends...not anyone I can call round for coffee anyhow..always too busy.

but what doesn't help my case is I'm not working yet and I haven't had the guts to past my driving test...I had three months to learn and pass the physical exam and I freaked out...I'm used to the countryside of Kent and finding quiet roads to practice and these ones were just too scary and I gave up. but after I've had the baby I'm going to try again and maybe make another attempt at starting my own business..something else I stopped because I couldn't get my head around the multitude of permits and licenses. :help: I think if you can at least get your driving license it will help you be more mobile while your hubby is at work and will help you find work too. or you could try to go to groups or meetings? or find a local Brit bar with your hubby and make some friends with the regulars? I'm going to try and find a mommy and me class after October but not sure if I will find one in walking distance. the not driving is a real hindrance.

As for the whats better at home thing..I agree with you there are some silly things over here but try not to let it consume your opinion of over here or distance yourself from potentially enjoying the other aspects of life here. if you concentrate on all the bad you wont see any of the good. plus people don't want to hear only whats rubbish about their country when making friends.

I'm in Los Angeles near Santa Monica area where are you?

  5. Hi guys! Said I'd look this up for some friends who are due to move back to France soon.

They came with just their suit cases but now they have some furnishings/furniture, child's toys and books etc that they need to take back with them and obviously can stick them in their suit cases. And as they didn't need one when they came they haven't heard of them.

I haven't brought anything over from the uk yet either as still haven't needed too. but I remember there was some mentioned in the uk forum when I came over? maybe with monkey in the name?

So if anyone has any recommendations? they are going from the USA to France.

    thanks in advance.

  6. if you see in USCIS Processing they are doing it till 30 June.( Processing Dates for California Service Center as of: June 30, 2011 ) so most probably they will touch next month ...... or beginning of the month  let see.....

OOOOH  thanks for sharing that....I really hope so because after sept I don't expect to have access to this address. and I'm worried they will send it to here instead of what our new address will be (fingers crossed we get a new address  )

  7. Congrats tarjeta on getting your card

Not been on for a few days.....house buying to going to pot and it's seems like it's all falling appart which we cannot afford time wise and money wise. :crying: the sellers a Charlton and a complete and utter prat...I would not wish my worst enemy to have to deal with this #######, so I came on to look for some good news to cheer me up! seems someone else from june has ben approved but they are not on the list so can't tell when they filed.

Pah I hope everyone else is having a better summer!

  8. hannah,

if you can handle all that, you can do anything! sometimes i am proud of myself for being able to do all of this. (although i have gained weight from the take-out food i consume as i pore over documents and the forums. and probably from the stress of it all! :l )

    cheers!

thanks, that is true......I was hoping things were going to start running a bit smoothly for a week or two, but we got a counter offer on the house this morning  oh well I sort of expected it, So we are still negotiating bah..

On a more positive note :innocent: and I'm not saying this to cause a riot in this thread from excitement or anything but I was nosing around the June thread and at least 3 of the csc filers have been approved already. perhaps there's still a chance my card will get delivered to me before we have to move....I'm just so paranoid they won't update change of address and send it to this one when we haven't got access anymore.

  9. Guys,

I have an off topic question.

One of our road trip destinations next month is Victoria BC, Canada. I've already googled about the "crossing the boarder" rule and policy. And it clearly states that an LPR traveler only need yo bring/ present the GC and a valid identification upon entering the Canada boarder. Well, that's great to know and I believe what I read on the web is correct. :P

But guys, I'll be more relax if anyone (LPR) who's been able to cross the boarder can affirm that what I found on the web is accurate.

Any reply will be much appreciated.

    Thank you! :star:

I had my brand new green card in married name, my British passport in maiden name, handed both i think over all he did was ask the obligatory questions on the way into Canada an didn't stamp my passport. guy on way out definitely had both all he did was peer in the car to see i was in there and asked us how much booze we had to declare and did we have any fruits or veggies...totally ignoring the pumpkin on the dashboard and let in... gave me no hassles in or out....don't know if the way in was lax because I had a UK passport or what. but on the way back surprised me much to my relief.

  10. Oh boy, I have been checking our status online as well and I see nothing but the last update which was on the 20th. I had my early walk in bio done on July 25 and nothing has changed since.

    So frustrating...

oh well perhaps soon it will get allocated to an officer to be worked on....I must admit im not as pent up about it this time... last time i was checking every day. but that's probably because i have so much going on to stress about this time....im such a plonker I have decided to not only roc this july but also be 7 months pregnant and buy a house too :bonk: what was i thinking???? ugghhh and I have decided I hate house buying... though uscis was frustrating to get answers from and to get them to do things right hah! you should meet our realtor

  11. Hi guys!

I was preparing for my vacation trip, so didn't have time to post my new information, on July 26 I got bio appointment for 8/23 which is next day after our trip!! I'm glad that I don't have to change the date of appointment with them. I've noticed you updated the list of dates and I never posted my check cashed date which is 7/15.

Now I have questions)) What should I bring to the appointment, do they need any photos or anything besides the invitation?

    Thanks!

Biometrics? just leave your phone and electronics at home and bring your green card and notice of appointment....I was worried i would need to remember my ssn this time too but I didn't  when you get there they will make you fill out a form when they see you photo id (green card) and bio notice. you give it back to the secretary or guard and they give it back with a number and you go wait to be called.

  12. Did biometrics on Thursday (day it was scheduled not walk in)just logged in to see if it's been touched to show bio done and our case hasn't even been touched in anyway since the 9th of July :crying: was hoping it would show some acknowledgment that I had done my biometrics and they had been synced. or something...I thought the last time at aos that ours was touched the day of biometrics...I assumed that was just because the computer was syncing them together?

did anyone who has already done their biometrics this time check their case and see a touch for biometrics?

maybe last time it was because biometrics was over due for me? we had to phone and ask for them to set one up last time as it was beyond the 30 day window. :bonk:

  13. This is a question for the csc july filers.... Really, no one else has gotten a biometrics appt after their july 20th noa date.... this makes me nervous, I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that vsc is so backed up or there is not much evidence...?:whistle:

With my AOS its was past 30 days ( we were missing one piece of evidence but I don't think they would delay finger printing and id check for that) and I had to remind them I existed to get my bio..this time I got it after two weeks and its scheduled for this Thursday. I was watching the list for bios because I am ubber paranoid after last time and it seemed all of vsc guys and gals were getting theirs pretty promptly but csc were being really slow even at the beginning.. there was about five or six bio appointments scheduled for vsc and only two had been put up for csc  i think csc is fast on processing the packets but slow on the up take of the bios.......perhaps because of demographics...maybe there's more demand on the bio offices in the places were are at than those of us at vsc and perhaps there's more of a wait?

  14. hannah,

i think the date updates when the case is 'touched'. if you read the fine print below the cases in your portfolio (when you are signed in on the USCIS), it says the following:

    * Note on "Last Updated" date:

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email and/or text message notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

'touches' are when the date changes on the case status page.

    xx.

thanks  i'll have to go nose around now and look for that message

  15. Haven't received NOA yet (though it may be in the mailbox)

HOWEVER! My bank is showing the check was cashed as of today 7/27/2011.

Yay Jason and Sarah....Forgot how close our timeline was...interview same day and roc same month lol.

its prob on its way over now i sent mine confirmed tracking on the 7th it got there on the 8th and that's the date of my noa1...check was cashed the next week and i received my noa1 that same week too and I live in Los Angeles so its not like it had that far to travel and still post form them takes a few days... :bonk:

  16. I can't remember where but, I read this instruction; "Write your Alien Number at the upper side of ALL documents"...somewhere when I was studying the ROC guide?

So, I did. Hope yours will be fine even without it. :star:

me too hopefully they don't loose anything we have copies but still #######

because most of my evidences were photo copies of things

    damit

too much for my pregnant #### to be worried about....trying to buy a house and move being pregnant, preparing for baby and green card at same time is too much for my brain :(

how do i check if its been touched yet cant rmemeber the website i go on

  17. Please let me know after ur early bio try, since we are all at El monte office. Thanks!

we are to go to the pico and robertson biometrics office......

we were going to attempt it yesterday but as is life other stuff got in the way....mil needed hubby to take her to her old bosses memorial service in Pasadena as she hates driving up to there on her own...they didn't realise that the service would be huge and two hours long and a wake after......so they didn't get home till well after 3 pm....

the last time we did early walk in we had an excuse as it was scheduled on hubby's work day.... this time its open and on his day off so I don't know if they will let us get away with it.....So if we get it done we will see...I just hope if we end up waiting till august that they still adjudicate our packet while we are waiting?? or do they wait till its done before they start? it's just we might be putting an offer on a house soon and if it works out we might close before august is up and move.......I know that the green card can take 30 days from approval to be sent and received..I just don't trust anyone whole is left in this building anymore if it arrives here instead of the new place..
