  1. I don't think ssn is a nessersary requirement for aos or I-693, but someone please correct mr if I am wrong. If you have one already you can write it down. If not you don't write it down. I could be wrong but the security guard for my biometrics was even fussed that I couldn't remember what mine was and he said it wasn't nessersary for this process. I can't imagine a dr being more snooty about it?

  2. Hannah, what was explained to Sarah (bare in mind this is for Ohio, not California) is that she can get her Driver's License but it will expire date of the EAD (so like June for us). They told her once she gets her Green Card in hand, that she can go into the BMV and they can switch it over to a full license.

Dunno if the rules are the same in CA, but that's what we were told for Ohio!

I believe it's similar here but what I was worried about is how long is ead good for and if they take the ead at the interview does that void the ead early and then also the licence? In short does one have to go update their dl the minute they get the gc? Or can you wait a few weeks as long as it is before the original expiry date of ead?

  3. I wonder if anyone has any further insight into this, as I don't think it really covered this on the CA DMV website that I could see.

I know that I needed to produce a document of at lease 60 validity left on it for proof of residency, to get my provisional drivers permit in CA. and that after my i-94 expired i needed either EAD card or Green card as proof of residency to get it (same for state ID)

I also know that the License or DL will only be valid for the same amount of time the proof i used is valid for.

Now my issue and confusion is now this, yesterday I received a notice for my AOS Interview which will be on the 09-09-09

So in 4 weeks i may possibly be approved for my Green card!! :star:

Ok so I checked my case status online today and found it was updated to day saying that AP and EAD card production was ordered yesterday. (again i reiterate 4 weeks time i have my interview for GC)

Now if the ead comes soon as in a week or week and a half, is it worth me going and applying for my Learners permit or even state id with ead if they are probably going to be taking them (ead and ap) off me at the interview? will it make the dl or id invalid once its (ead) taken off me or does it stll run till when the ead card was originally valid?

Am I required to go back and update the dl or id as soon as i have green card? Because that could be in a matter of weeks.

alternatively is it feasible to apply for learners permit on ead and get the full license (hoping i pass soon) once i have greencard and before the ead card would have run out?

  4. I DON'T BLOODY BELEIVE THIS!!! Just checked my cases online right and bearing in mind my great news yesterday and how i said online nothing had changed or updated and i asked about where this leaves the ead and ap???

Both touched today!! no change of last touch or anything on aos but i got interview letter so who cares.

OK so I have these things for what a grand total of three weeks max? I am assuming it will take a week no lest or more to get here which is prob expecting too much and then they will take them off me at interview if not approved? these people make my mind boggle!

ok so if i go get my provisional dl with ead i know the licence runs out when ead does but do i have to go and change it as soon as i am approved? i mean is there a point of me trying to start learning as soon as i get my ead if interview isnt too far off?

  5. I make cheese and onion pasties, and I use pepperidge farm pre-made puff pastry. They come in sheets and shells. I believe the shells would work well for you as you cook them then take the lid off and fill them and put the lid back on. I find that it's easiest to cook the shells and the filling separately and then fill the shells. I've also found microwaving them make them puff even more!

thanks for that i used an aussie brand of ready made puff pastry and it didn't work so well being cooked on the pie, i was thinking trying things from scratch.

  6. Well unless you can identify something you may have left out of the packet that you should have sent, i.e. marriage certificate, copy birthcertificate translation of official document in another language etc. its gunna be hard to guess what until you get the letter.

can you think of anything you may have forgot to send? it could just be for extra evidence of relationship as most don't send more than whats in the guides initially. your guess is as good as mine

  7. Sigh.

    Another week and nothing!!

Congrats to everyone on the approvals - I'm sure us "forgotten ones" will hear something soon

Well we can be the three musketeers until we do! Congrats to everyone with good news..and sorry to hear about the RFE Subguy.

I believe there's four of us already. Les Miserables!

We're working on a broadway cast

how quirky :) you married the day before us and did biometrics day before me too! Only difference is I file aos a week or two before. I think they are taking their time on mine :( late biometrics and while everyone else has ead and ap from filing near June 18 th I am still waiting :( . Did you file ap too? Has it been touched at all? Mine hasn't yet just the obligatory ead and i485 the day after biometrics.

We filed for AP, and so far that hasn't been touched, just the EAD and the I485. I wonder if that's the usual?

I filed for ap too and when they touched ead and aos after biometrics they left out the ap. i beleive ap is not connected to the biometrics like the other two applications. because its the only na1 that doesn't refer to biometrics appointments.

However i got my interview letter for the 9th of sept in the mail yesterday i am so happy!!  So don't think that the online case status is accurate they never touched me again or updated me. why am i not surprised.

  8. Has anyone got an request to attend interview yet? I got mine yesterday for the 9th of sep, but my cases online still show received and pending at the national benefits center. not touches or emails. Not even to say its been transferred to local office. (should they have sent me one?)

I filed (noa1) on the 18th June. to this date no word or movement on the ead or ap which hopefully i wont be needing now.

  9. Ok I have some big news on my case!!  not quite THE big news but its extremely close!

Yesterday my lovely Husband brought up the post and there was a letter from uscis for me!

bearing in mind i have not had a touch on ap since the 23rd of June, and 31st of July (day after i completed my biometrics) on ead and aos.

I have had no emails or updates or changes of status/transfer notices on my cases online. its still says received and pending and that they are at the national benefits center on all three on my cases. (What a surprise <_< )

So guess what this was? I HAVE AN INTERVIEW FOR ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS!!   its on the 9th of sept (our 5 month anni  )at a very early time of the morning,

Now we have to prepare all our documents. I haven't had an rfe for the missing noa2 yet. Do you think that means they won't be turning around at the interview and demanding it? they still have not resolved or contacted us again on the service request hubby got for said missing noa2 hardcopy. I am not sure if we can get them to sort it out before Sept 09th.

Oh well i am so excited the end of this part of the journey may be in sight. :star: just hope its not too much more bumpy fingers crossed

  10. Congrats Hannah+Vito on the interview date! Sounds good to me but since I'm clueless about questions you've asked, I'll leave the comments for some more knowledgeable people than I am. You are almost there!!!

I have a question about biometrics - can anybody do an early walk-in or do only certain USCIS offices offer that service? I just got my notice for the appointment on the 2nd September but since I have nothing better to do, I was wondering if I can just walk in (heck of a long walk but it might be worth it ;-))?

it depends there are some offices that are know to turn away walkins like atlanta for instance and some that are set up for such instances at certain times, however its not guaranteed and also there have prob been accounts of successful walkins at almost all offices, if its close enough to not be way out of your way then try it, but be prepared for either outcome. i went and it happened to be really quiet that day so they said they could help me. pehaps try and workout a time and day that will have least traffic.

if there are specific hours it should state so on your notice in same place it tell you how to reschedule if you need to.
