What time was your interview? If it is after a certain hour I understand you can't do same day oath, correct? Also, what field office?

It was at 11 am, but the systems were down and everyone who interviewed that day couldn't do oath.  The office had come to a standstill.  Field Office: San Fernando (SFO)

Basically if the office was up and running, I could have had same day oath as well.  The officer told me they do oath ceremonies 4 times a day in that office.

  2. Hi all, has anyone not had the oath ceremony on the same day?  Unfortunately, the systems were severely down the day of the interview so I got approved online a few days later and am now waiting to hear back the date and details of the oath ceremony.  Had all been up and running, I would have had the oath ceremony the same day and be done.  My question is - how long was it between the interview and the oath ceremony?  I'm hoping it's soon.  I had my interview on Dec 1st.  Thanks.

    Office: Tampa, Fl

    Submitted online: 05/25 (NYC office)

    Change address: 06/28

    Interview notice: 08/09

    Interview date: 09/13

    Oath Ceremony; 10/12

I went to my interview on Sept 13 and checked in at 720 but didnt get called until 8:25am. I got a very nice officer for my case. She made me feel like it was just any other conversation with a workmate. She placed me under oath and did the civics test first. I got 6 questions correctly and moved to all the yes or no questions.

I was so nervous when it came to the travel part because of all the travels I had the last 3 years. Luckily, all went well during the interview.

I had pending i751 and she said she couldnt approve my n400 without the i751's approval. She said it should only take a day or 2 to finish it.

I was so happy how the interview went but was still nervous because i didnt get approved on the spot. To my surprise my n400 status change to Oath will be scheduled the following day.

    I'm done with USCIS now🥳🥳🥳

I wish everyone goodluck on their citizenship journey!

    Congrats!!

I called for an appointment in the Passport office on the 25th Sept, got a date for the 4th October as I had booked a flight to Greece for the 6th and got my passport the same day (4th Oct). Now off to file for my mother to join me here.

Congrats!!  Did you need to show your travel itinerary in order to get the 1 day passport service?

I had my citizenship interview today.

    1. Arrived at 9:10 for a 9:30 appointment (big mistake as it was extremely busy)

    2. Got through security at 9:25.

    3. Was called into the interview room around 9:50

      - Civic Test (my officer stopped after I answered 6 questions correctly).

      - I was asked to read a sentence.

      - I was asked to write a sentence.

      - Officer went through my application and added trips I made since my application.

      - Officer asked about Yes & No questions

      - She asked me if I had any questions and I used that opportunity to ask for a same day Oath which she granted.

    4. I was escorted back  to the waiting area at 10:06 to wait for my Oath ceremony at 11:30.

    5. I was checked in for Oath Ceremony at 11:15 and my green card was taken away for good.

    6. Oath Ceremony was completed and I got my certificate of citizenship.

I will be applying for my passport and going to the social security office on Monday. Good luck to you all.

Congrats!!  Also thanks so much for the details. The interview didn't last long at all.

My husband and I got our interview for October 6, we filed on May 29, ou4 local office is Sacramento, CA.  We tried to reschedule our interview since we have an international trip coming up mid November.  We were told that we need a compelling reason to reschedule the interview,  so we kept the appointment.  My question is: do you uys think we can reschedule the oath ceremony ( assuming we get approved) if it gets scheduled too close or during our trip?

Yes that's much easier to request for a future date than the actual interview.

I filed my application May 23 in San Jose,CA. My status says case is being reviewed 😣.. I called USCIS about 1 week and a half and they said they have requested an interview appt to my field office but one is not available yet. Maybe  SJ field office is super busy 🤷‍♀️.. good luck to all and hopefully we get that interview appt soon !

Hi, how can you speak to someone at USCIS?  Especially those that would specifically refer to your case?  I'd love to do it if that is an option.

I filed my application with the San Jose Field Office in early May, and my current case status is "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS." I'm curious if anyone else in the same boat?

Mine is the same. Also, I feel like because my biometrics was reused I'm in the back of the pile. I've noticed those that have a biometrics appointment made more progress and got notifications for an interview date. Maybe I'm over thinking this 🤷🏽‍♂️

Today, I finally had my oath ceremony. Here is my info.
    Office: Irving, Tx
I applied under the 3 year rule because I’m married to an American citizen. Been a resident for almost 11 years.
    Application submitted: May 19th 2023
    Biometrics Reused
Interview: July 28th 2023 (passed) . Interview took 12 minutes, did not ask for any more documents.
    Oath ceremony: August 23rd 2023

My passport appointment is in 2 weeks!

    Good luck everyone!

Congrats!! Were you asked about why you didn't apply for citizenship before?  I have had GC since 2010 as well so am wondering if I need to prepare for these kinds of questions as well.

anybody here in california field office is santa ana that are still waiting for their interview? I notice mostly in here got approved in just 4months or had interview scheduled already. looks like california state is the slowest to move

Hi, my FO would be San Fernando Valley (Chatsworth).  I've noticed the same slowness. I'd have thought that a big state like Cali would have the resources to get things going but it seems so much slower than the other states!!    I've not heard back at all. Filed May 22nd and it's still actively reviewing.

Filed May 27th 2023, based on 3 year rule.

    Bio Reused.
Notice of Interview July 12th 2023
    Interview August 25th 2023

    Office is Chatsworth, CA

We live in LA county, thought it would take us forever, since the application said it could take 9 months.

This is going to sound stupid, but how were the reading, writing and speaking English part go? I know my hubs is afraid of that part.

hi!  I was wondering if you can tell me if you uploaded any documents apart from the required ones?  I also filed under 3 year rule.  Did you upload your tax transcripts?  I didn't do that but am thinking whether I should upload them now under additional evidence.   Thanks.

    Hi

I just filed online yesterday and got the NOA and biometric reuse in the uscis account.Do we get a physical mail of these two as well? or just the message in the account.

Do we get the interview letter in mail or that will come in uscis account as well?

yes you will receive a physical mail as well.  It will be just a paper form of what you see online.

update based on my lawfully cohort data

    - 247 in the cohort now

    - 6 with confirmed decisions (all naturalizing)

    - 88 with interview invites

    - 94/247 = 38 % have gotten either a decision or an interview invite.

We're well on place for the majority(50 - 55 %) of all May filers to have gotten an interview invite by the end of July. And I will say 75 - 80 % should get one by the end of August.

    Thank you -

I really hope that processing remains so at this predicted speed, if not faster!

I’m on lawfully premium so I have access to certain analytics which shows how cases are progressing along for month based cohorts.

for May N 400 filers, these are the current stats

    2/229 - already received citizenship

    60/229 - Received Interview dates

167/229 - Waiting for Interview dates

So roughly 27 % of all May filers have gotten an interview request at this point.

Not a bad pace. I likely expect we’ll cross the majority with interview requests by the end of July.

Thank you, this was so insightful.  If it's not too much, can you post stats every now and then?

Are you guys also submitting a lot of evidence to prove bonafide marriage with your N400 application or just the necassary documentation?

I submitted birth certificates of my children + marriage certificate only because we've been married for over 10 years.  So every case is different. If you think you need to provide a lot more proof then go for it, it never hurts.  In my case the duration of marriage and the fact that we've had kids over the years is sufficient.

I just checked my case status this morning and saw this update: "On June 19, 2023, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400".

I checked the documents tab and downloaded the Interview Scheduled.pdf which has the interview date as July 25.

I honestly wasn't expecting it to be this soon judging from Charlotte NC timelines I see here.

Time to start practicing for civic test... :)

    Congratulations, that is amazing!
