Hi, I received my approval letter NOA2 2/23/23 and still waiting for the USCIS to send this to the NVC. There is an expiration date on the approval letter 6/21/23. Should I be concerned about this expiring before my case number is generating and interviewing at the embassy? Is there auto extensions during these times of delay?

No, don't worry about the expiration date. The Immigration office can extend that. So once you are able to get to the interview, let them know. They already expect this with the limited amount of interview dates each embassy has.

So when I initially filled mine, I didn't get a response for a week so I was wondering what happened, then I got something in the mail that was a rejection because I filled incorrectly. The only issue was " I added the credit card" Payment authorization form along with a money order check. It was an honest mistake and they could have just taken that paper out and proceed but they rejected it. So I resent it, then within two days I get a text message saying it was received and then couple days later I got the NOA1 in the mail. So there could be something in your application that might be delaying the process and you are awaiting something from them? How did you file it? Lockbox?

1st touch is when the case is entered into computer so,  yes , any case sent in and assigned a case # is touched

Aha! So doesn't necessarily mean they are processing that case? Maybe I thought they had divided their teams and assigned each team different years to work on. Thank you!

In what way does this make sense?  The lockbox that receives and unbundles the packets, and processes payments is in no way looking at any detail about the packet, such as beneficiary's country or whether you're eligible.  That comes like 15 months later, when the petition is adjudicated.

The lockbox is simply making sure that the forms used are current and that the payment is correct.

Okay it was an innocent question so I appreciate a normal response. Again, had to ask.

Did you include form G-1145 e-notification?

Hopefully you paid with a personal check to see if they cashed your check yet?  My NOA1 came in 2 days and I saw my personal check was cashed immediately as well. But that was months ago.

For the photos to prove you met within 2 years, did you write the names, location and date on each photo?

Yes, I did include the form. Unfortunately, I did Money order 😕 I checked with the bank yesterday and saw it hasn't been cashed.  For photos, I did everything you listed on each one. I am just thinking maybe it could be because of country?

Just curious if there was anything that you can think of that would make it difficult for them to scan your package in?

For example, did you have a lot of staples, did you include binders, folders, or laminated items, or a lot of odd size paperwork other than standard 8x11 size paper plus passport size photos? How many pages was your package?

Nope. None of that. I actually had them all with paper clips. It was the form + All the initial evidence documentation. I had about 20 photos. Not sure if that caused any issues.

  7. Hello all,

New to this forum, but I have a question, does the beneficiary's current country effect how quickly submitted I-129F forms are put in the system and sent NOA1s? I am seeing others that sent the form after me and gotten their NOA1 in 2 days and mine been already a week. I know the estimated time is 1-3 weeks to receive NOA1 but curious to see if this is a factor.

    Thank you!
