  1. I want to call my parents very often. They are living in Mexico. I already have tried call with cards, the 5 dlls card provide 5 hours wich isn't true. If you din't spend the 5 hours in the first call, the next time you call there is less money (time) in the card. There Is a stole of time!! Why?

If I call from my cell phone, it is more expensive even having the discount of long distance (7 cents per minute, 4.2 dlls per hour). And if I want to send a SMS message to Mexico there is extracharge for it... If I receive international phone calls in my cell phone there is extracharge per minute!! Why??

So I've been thinking for decide which option is better (cheaper) phone cards or cell phone?

I think any option conduce me to I have to pay or pay if I want to continue calling my parents very often :crying:

I get my call card from comfi.com with $5 you get about 40mins of talk time. Some people have also said bingo or pingo i don't which it is , you might wanna google it .

    Good luck

  2. Hi All.

  3. Then who opressed Jamaicans and began calling them the N word....cause I don't know that history. This whole thing started with you saying your husband doesn't really get the negative meaning of the N word....so what exactly are you stating cause I'm confused by your comments now.

Yout stated that he didn't know the negative connotations of the word cause Jamaica does not have a history of oppression and racism. I am arguing that point.

In a way Marlita is right about your husband not knowing the negative connotation of the N word like the original black Americans. Me being from south Africa i truly don't see nothing wrong for someone calling me the N word. Like a friend of mine was asking me if i called you the N word would you be mad at me, i said NO, he said yea you shouldn't be mad because you are not originally from here...... These days i see little kids use N word among themselves it's real not a big deal, I think it just depends on the individual weather or not to take the N word in a offensive manner.

  4. Ha Ha! This is funny. Its an old article that came out YEARS ago. Well as a Black woman, I can say that I have dated the whole United Nations of races and ethnicities so I never saw the issue of Black women not being in cross-racial relationships.

I think the guy in the article was being as crude as the original woman was...so in that case he made his point. Both points were a tad extreme but I gotta say that the comments and reasons he made about why Black men choose to date white women.....I've heard that alot...from Black men. Now nothing is ever 100% final so I am sure there are just as many cases of Black men dating outside there race for legitimate and loving realtionships, but the comment he made is also a reason why Black men date other races. Truth hurts, yes, but it still doesn't take away that its the truth.

And sometimes "the truth" is just a bunch of regurgitated stereotypical rumors that fly because no one can come up with a genuine idea of their own. Don't perpetuate this stuff by spreading the hate.

Ain't nobody hating it's the fact.

  5. Perhaps one of the most interesting words in the English language today is the word 'f**k'. Out of all the English words that begin with the letter F, 'f**k' is the only word that is referred to as "the f word". It's the one magical word. Just by its sound can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love. 'F**k', as most words in the English language, is derived from German. The word fleichen which means to strike. In English, 'f**k' falls into many grammatical categories: As a transitive verb for instance: "John ###### Shirley". As an intransitive verb: "Shirley f**ks". It's meaning's not always sexual: It can be used as an adjective, such as "John's doing all the f**king work". As part of an adverb: "Shirley talks too f**king much". As an adverb enhancing an adjective: "Shirley is f**king beautiful". As a noun: "I don't give a f**k". As part of a word: "Absof**kinglutely", or: "Inf**kingcredible", and, as almost every word in the sentence: "F**k the f**king f**kers". As you must realize, there aren't too many words with the versatility of 'f**k'. As in these examples describing situations such as: Fraud: "I got f**ked at the used car lot". Dismay: "Aww f**k it!" Trouble: "I guess I'm really f**ked now". Aggression: "Don't f**k with me buddy!" Difficulty: "I don't understand this f**king question". Inquiry: "Who the f**k was that?" Dissatisfaction: "I don't like what the f**k is going on here". Incompetence: "He's a f**k off". Dismissal: "Why don't you go outside and play hide and go f**k yourself?" I'm sure you can think of many more examples. With all of of these multi-purpose applications, how can anyone be offended when you use the word? We say, use this unique flexible word more often in your daily speech. It will identify the quality of your character immediately. Say it loudly and proudly: "F**K YOU!"

If you think i wrote this then you are dumb

People are meant to have different opinions about this particular "F word" that's why i had to put it here.... It's a word we use in our daily life that's why i posted it here on VJ.Please do not take offense for this thread

    Truth hurts for real

  7. IMO the entire article was offensive, and filled with silly stereotyping.

The white lady started it all... And i believe she got what she wanted even more than she asked for

So, it's okay to spew racist bull$#it if someone else did it first? I just want to be sure I understand the rules

I didn't think the black man meant it in a racial manner, he was only trying to make a point which he did regardless.

  8. IMO the entire article was offensive, and filled with silly stereotyping.

The white lady started it all... And i believe she got what she wanted even more than she asked for

    what does that even mean?

What does what even mean...Can you be specific?

  9. I think the white woman got burnt LOL

    Exactly.

So it's ok to throw around offensive stereotypes as long as you're teaching someone a lesson?

It's my impression that he was just being coy to make a point....stereotypes suck all around.

I don't think it takes that much cleverness to stoop to the level of the person you're debating. The whole thing was offensive and not funny in the least to me. I understand what he was trying to do, but it fell flat IMO.

With no offense, I think the black man had a good point

  10. It seems that an article was written to Sister 2 Sister magazine by a Caucasian woman who requested a response from black men. glad she got what she asked for (and more)!!!

    REQUEST:

Dear Jamie: I'm sorry but I would like to

challenge some of your Black male readers.I am a White female who is engaged to a Black male-good-looking, educated and loving. I just don't understand a lot of Black female's attitudes about our relationship. My man decided he wanted me because the pickings amongst Black women were slim to none.

As he said they were too fat, too loud, too mean, too argumentative, too needy, too materialistic or carrying too much excess baggage. Before I became engaged, whenever I went out I was constantly approached by Black men, willing to wine and dine me and give me the world. If Black women are so up in arms about us being with their men, why don't they look at themselves and make some changes.

I am tired of the dirty looks I get and snide remarks when we're out in public. I would like to hear from some Black men about why we are so appealing and coveted by them. Bryant Gumbel

just left his wife of 26years for one of us Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, the model Tyson

Beckford, Montell Williams, Quincy Jones, James Earl Jones, Harry Belafonte, Sydney Poitier, Kofi Anan, Cuba Gooding Jr., Don Cornelius, Berry Gordy, Billy Blanks, Larry Fishburne, Wesley Snipes...

I could go on and on. But, right now, I'm a little angry and that is why I wrote this so hurriedly. Don't be mad with us White women because so many of your men want us. Get your acts together and learn from us and we may lead you to treat your men better. If I'm wrong, Black men, let me know.

Disgusted White Girl, Somewhere in VA.

    RESPONSE:

Dear Jamie: I would like to respond to the letter written by A Disgusted White Girl. Let me start by saying that I am a 28-year old black man. I graduated from one of the most prestigious universities in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management. I have a good job at a major corporation and have recently purchased a house.

So, I consider myself to be among the ranks of successful black men. I will not use my precious time to slander white people. I just want to set the record straight of why black men date white women. Back in the day, one of the biggest reasons why black men dated white women was

    because they were considered easy.

The black girls in my neighborhood were raised in the church. They were very strict about when

they lost their virginity and who they lost it to. Because of our impatience to wait, brothers would look for someone who would give it up easy without too much hassle. So, they turned to the white girls.

Nowadays, in my opinion, a lot of brothers date white women because they are docile and easy to control. A lot of black men, because of insecurities, fears, and overall weaknesses, have become intimidated by the strength of our black women. We are afraid that our woman will be more successful than us, make more money than us, drive nicer cars and own bigger houses.

Because of this fear, many black men look for a more docile woman. Someone we can control. I

have talked to numerous black men and they continuously comment on how easy it is to control and walk over their white women. I just want to set the record straight. I want A Disgusted White Girl to know that not all successful black men date white women. Brothers like Ahmad Rashad, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Michael Jordan, Morris Chestnut, Will Smith, Blair Underwood Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Chris Rock all married strong black women.

And, to flip the script, there are numerous white men, in and out of the spot light, who openly or secretly desire black women over white women. Ted Danson, Robert DeNiro, and David

Bowie to name a few. I just don't want a disgusted white girl to be misinformed. Stop thinking that because you are white that you are some type of goddess. Remember, when black Egyptian Queens like Hatsepshut and Nitorcris were ruling Dynasties and armies of men in Egypt, you were over in the caves of Europe eating raw meat and beating each other over the head with clubs.

Read your history! It was the black woman that taught you how to cook and season your food. > It was the black woman that taught you how to raise your children. It was black women who were breast feeding and raising your babies during slavery.

It is the black woman that had to endure watching their fathers, husbands, and children beaten, killed, and thrown in jail. Black women were born with two strikes against them: being black and being a woman. And,through all this, Still They Rise! It is because of the black women's strength, elegance, power, love and beauty that I could never date anyone except my black Queen.

It is not just the outer beauty that captivates and draws me to them. It is not the fact that they come in all shapes, sizes, colours and shades that I love them. Their inner beauty is what I find most appealing about black women. Their strong spirit, loving and nurturing souls, their integrity, their ability to overcome great obstacles, their willingness to stand for what they believe in, and their determination to succeed and reach their highest potential while enduring great pain and suffering is why I have fallen in love with black women. I honestly believe that your anger is geared more toward jealousy and envy more so than snotty looks.

If this were not so, then why do you continuously go to tanning salons to darken your skin? If you are so proud to be white, then why don't you just be happy with your pale skin? Why do you continue to inject your lips, hips, and breasts with unnatural and dangerous substances so you can look fuller and more voluptuous? I think that your anger is really a result of you wanting to have what the black woman has. If I were looking for a docile woman, someone I can walk over and control, I would give you a call.

But, unfortunately, I am looking for a Virtuous Woman. Someone that can be a good wife and mother to my children. Someone who can be my best friend and understands my struggles. I am looking for a soul mate. I am looking for a sister and; unfortunately, you do not and CANNOT

fit the bill. No offense taken, none given. Signed, Black Royalty ;-)
