It can take up to 30 days to receive Noa1 in the mail from when the shipment is received not sent until you are eligible to place an email enquiry with the lockbox. The website states that.

One person, who is a current AOS filer and has posted less than 300 comments in his time on VJ. Other places, please link them so it can be corrected so your problem doesn't become one for many.

Following the official website for timelines and protocol imperative.

I'll go as far as to say that your error came from the online chat agent (whom you didn't need to contact) providing info for a different immigrant and mistakenly connecting it to you.

    Keyword.

Which is the correct protocol as outlined by USCIS.

How would you know that for sure if you haven't received the biometrics notice in thy mail?

How would it mistakenly connect to us? Using the code requires you to input the I-485 case number we got on the receipt notice.

All the scanned documents we can access are documents which we have prepared and signed. The PDF notices that show biometrics appointment notice and the document with the access code show our address and my spouse's name.

    This part confuses me.

    You contacted USCIS for ?

You needed an online access code for what?

Biometrics noticed are mailed to the patient.

    Which biometrics notice?

One that was mailed to you or one that you printed after creating an online account and finding your bio notice online?

    It = mailed or downloaded?

The receipt notice took its sweet time making its way to my home, nearly three weeks. On the advice of people on this forum and other places, I reached out to USCIS via online chat to obtain the online access code that would have been mailed to us to link the IOE case number to my partner's USCIS account.

We were able to see a copy of the letter USCIS sent us (and we'll receive eventually) with that access code along with the appointment notice.

My partner has an A# that was assigned to them and shows on the I129F approval notice. We used that number to fill out AOS forms, and that number showed on the AOS receipt notices. The online account notice and the appointment notice have a different number than the first number.

  3. Just wondering if this is common or a discrepancy that I should have corrected.

On the I-129F approval, USCIS assigned an A# to my partner. I used that number to fill out the AOS forms and that showed up on the receipt notices.

I messaged a USCIS representative to get the online access code, and on the biometric appointment notice, it says my spouse's married name and address correctly, but the A# is completely different.

Ours was received same day and we got NOA1 the same day by text only.

If you haven't received it, make sure when you get the NOA1 by mail to go to USCIS and chat with a live agent to get your biometrics appointment as mine was scheduled already.

If the date is past (it happens if you dont receive the mail on time) you can ask to reschedule

Good to know. Our NOA1 was dated 3/12, but we just received the paper notices yesterday (3/19)

    Hello everyone,

If there is anyone who can guide me on this this next part of my journey - I'd be forever grateful!! My status has changed to "READY" for scheduling the interview but I want to do everything the right way.  According to the travel.state.gov website, I have to now pay my fees, and it says exactly this on the website:

The first thing you need to do after receiving your NVC Welcome Letter is pay your processing fees. There are two processing fees:

    -Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee
    -Affidavit of Support Fee.
You will need a bank routing number and a checking or savings account number from a U.S. based bank.

To pay your fee, log into your case in CEAC and click the ‘PAY NOW’ button under Affidavit of Support Fee or IV Fee on your summary page.

Here's where my issue comes into play...…. when I attempt to log into my case at CEAC, it asks me for a case number AND an invoice ID? I received one letter from NVC telling me that my case was being sent to the embassy. All it gave me was my new case number, and my old USCIS receipt number.  I have no idea where to find the invoice ID? And without this invoice ID number, I can't figure out how to get in to my account and pay my fees.

    Any ideas?! Thank you!!!

Hopefully you got answers before, but.

You're looking at the wrong place. You want to file for a DS-160 on ceac.state.gov. You're looking at instructions for the immigrant CR1/IR1/IR2/IR5 visa. Then you'll need to go to ustraveldocs for your appropriate country where you'll be interviewing, then make an account and follow the process to file the form and pay the visa fee.

USCIS.gov is the best source of info on petition processing times.  I-129F is the petition, not the visa.  The petition is adjudicated at the California Service Center, and approved petitions are sent to NVC, where it is eventually dispatched to the appropriate consulate.  There is much more variation in this second part, driven by consular workloads.  Some consulates are so backlogged that that phase of the process (NVC to interview date) can take up to a year, some are much faster. Best source of consulate-specific processing times is probably the VJ portal for your country.

Current petition processing time according to USCIS is 16 months.

OP may want to take the USCIS estimate with a grain of salt as it’s being quite generous. Fair amount of people from November 2022 all the way to February 2023 are getting approvals this month.

  7. I'm not familiar with US consulate in Indonesia's procedures, but usually the consulate will accept documents in the dominant local language or English. If only English, translation by anyone who certifies that they are competent in translating between both languages is acceptable.

Birth certificate is not required to submit to USCIS with I-129F. I'm aware of a few attorneys and document preparation services that want beneficiary documents like their passport and birth certificate with the packet to front load the application.

What is the price for the medical exam?

Is the visa fee different from the DS-160?

Which other fees need to be paid.

Guys we need to prepare for the next stepts because all of you will be receiving the NOA2 soon

Medical exam cost is variable, and only other people from the same consulate as the beneficiary is going through can provide a clear answer

Visa fee is $265. This is the last fee for immigration you'll be paying until beneficiary is in the US, married and applying for I-485.

The way it is going approving 1500 every week we can expect news by Oct 20.

USCIS is not approving 1500 per week. They're approving on average 220/day which means that we should NOT expect anything until late November. Holiday call outs and the holiday slow down means that we should be expecting RFEs/NOA2s to trickle in starting Thanksgiving to beyond the New Year. Additionally, if the government does have a shut down, it will slow down the process even more with DOJ potentially not performing background checks on petitioners.

I know this is the holiday week and all, and there will be more of those from now on until the end of the year. It will keep delaying, which is really frustrating.

On the other hand, I-130 seems to be going well, which adds more frustrating for I-129f filers.

I-130 is a more important document in USCIS’s eyes no? IIRC I remember reading that fiancée visas are lower priority over immediate relative and employment based visas

  11. Petition was filed in January 2023. Partner filed to change her name just a few weeks back in her local jurisdiction, and will take a few months to go through.

We're not sure on what do to once said name change finishes, as a few months from now, we may have NOA2.

If we're still waiting for USCIS, should we reach out to them or send unsolicited documents to the CSC?

If we already have NOA2, should we just let it proceed and correct it at interview date with the proper evidence on hand?
