Uganda doesn’t process immigrant K1s we had to contact the Ugandan embassy to transfer our case..( our case was just laying there in the Ugandan embassy ..) we realized late ,we thought they would automatically transfer the case turns out we had to communicate between both consulates and finally we got the packet 3 instructions today (12th Feb) the case was electronically transferred to Nairobi on November 3rd… my fellow advise to my fellow Ugandans …please be careful when selecting the location for these immigrant visas.. we’ve been delayed soooo much (1year) but at least we caught it before it was extremely too late… also .. you can change the case at nvc stage it’s much easier .. good luck to everyone and Thankyou all XOXO 

Hi, am glad you transferred your case. I also had stated Kampala for a K1 visa but requested to expedite the case when it was at NVC, NVC automatically sent my case to Qatar since my fiancé was over there. It took 2 months for Qatar Embassy to process and now he is here, submitted greencard paperwork. Good luck everyone.

Rather frustrating when others that sent theirs the same time to Chicago box already have biometrics scheduled.

I can’t guarantee, it depends on the person who receives your case, have they cashed the check? If so then they have accepted the case. I don’t think they can send the whole package back for that. Good luck

Sent 2 passport photos I765, I 485 2 passport photos. I think you will be fine. If they need anything, they will let you know. My husband never sent in i131 since he won’t be traveling soon. Good luck.

That’s good. You will get feedback. I requested to expedite due to some circumstances but not sure if that was the reason for quick response. But I see some people from Chicago got quick feedback. Finger crossed.

Request UPS to give you the track number and then see if someone signed for it. I did request FEDEX to get signature when I was mailing and requested to put fragile and I took a picture to confirm incase something went wrong. Good luck. 

Filed AOS with FEDEX on Friday 1/26/24,In between weekend, received on Monday 1/29/24 and obtained signature to confirm delivery. Filed from WA State to Chicago, Illinois. Husband received a text with receipt  number IOE on 2/2/24 stating “ case was received and a receipt notice sent”, uploaded IOE on uscis case tracker and in few minutes it stated biometrics scheduled and a letter mailed. Let us know if you haven’t received letter by 03/04/24. 
It’s now a waiting game.

People are just adding the date they found out from NVC that the petition was received. I did that haha and it seems like the limit is 60 days. Timelines are not representing the real NVC date because of that. I will try to contact VJ about it.

I contacted VJ about it mid June and never got any response about it. Let me know if you get any feedback from them about it. Thanks

Yes, you can use case tracker and put your case number in the NVC section. CEAC is the best since it updates but case tracker doesn’t update unless you remove it and put it back in then it gives u accurate information. Good luck.

Once you have your case number, it will be able to show at various levels, for example it did show at NVC, later in transit after few days and last ready. If you are using an app like “case tracker” you have to remove the number and put it back in to update , not sure why but tracking using ceac website is up to date. See attachments.

OP, US kids have a lot of freedom and the culture is different. Your soon to be wife has to adjust a lot. Actions speak louder than words. If she cannot make her best to care or speak to the kids, just know that after Marriage, she will have alot of freedom and she can divorce you anytime. Before you wed, be careful coz you won’t turn back or call uscis if things go sour. The earlier the better. Your kids might decide to stay with their mother if they don’t like your soon to be wife. Let that lady put in some effort.  Wait for a month or so and see how things in the house turn out before wedding. Don’t ignore red flags. The earlier the better. Good luck.

I think uscis approved many cases and NVC has a lot to process and few employees. Not sure but that might be my guess. Just like everywhere they have short staff. Hope we get some feedback in the coming 2 weeks. Good luck everyone.

Hi, you have the same noa 2 as mine. I think the embassy does extension in 4 months increments. Am waiting for NVC case number. Have you heard from NVC? I think NVC has issued case numbers to approved noa 2 March 17/18. Hope we get good news next week. Good luck everyone 

Hi everyone, any updates from Nairobi embassy? Am also waiting for NVC to send me a case number. Someone I know did get an interview for K1 last yr and came last yr as well. How come I see different categories waiting for a yr? This is disappointing, wanted to see if I could transfer my case to another country for my k1 if the wait time is this long. God help everyone waiting, this is not easy. Good luck everyone
