  1. it's the subject of much study, and in fact there has been a call for papers on the issue

submissions so far have included speculation on whether it has to do with...

if you have any thoughts on the matter, the deadline for submissions is April 1 :)

it's a good thing people don't forget to joke even if most of the time it feels like crying.

  2. Hi

I filed my I-130 on December 28,07 but Chicago received on 01/02/08. On the website of uscis, it states that they are targetting the completion by end of january. Has anyone have received thier NOA1? What will be the processing time for this year? Anyone have any idea? Also, how long would it take to my husband a visa on IR status? Anyone with answers or concers surely helps.

    Thanks

Don't feel bad querida,I filed in May and I am still waiting for my NOA2.

    Sorry about that...

I wish you best of luck!

  5. Hello,my friends!

I pulled some information today from internet and i was wondering who knows better.

So i read that now to go to Romania moldovans don't need a transit visa, plus the time to be there isn't limited.

Now, go to the interview are we or are we not going to need a transit visa?

    Thank you.

  6. My fiance's medical exam is February 1, and she isn't getting her passport until about the 5 or 6. We are finishing the passport processing at manila. Her interview is on the 8. Is there anyway we can reschedule the medical exam a little later?

Is it a absolute must to have the passport at the exam?? Weve already paid for plane tickets and im freaking out.

The passport at the medical is absolutely needed.

I think you can reschedule the exam.

You can have it a day before the interview...i'm pretty sure.

    Good luck

  7. Hi,guys!

Does anybody have a link for the packet 3 content?

    Thanks

What about your medical? Are you gonna be having it in Moldova or the country where you'll be going for your interview??

Yeah, check the link to the Information Packet from the Embassy in Kiev - to use it as an example. Right now, I'd only be concerned about police certificate (if you lived in other countries than Moldova for longer than 6 months) and your birth certificate that must be translated and notarized. Police certificates are valid for either 6, or 12 months, so still you may do it a bit later.

For your visa interview, you'll also need to sumbit an Affidavit of Support, I-134 from your fiance that must be notarized by notary public in the US (I think all countries' applicants do it with no exception.) Check this form from "Example Forms" on this website.) You can also find it here --

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

    Good luck!

    Thank you so much!

And i'm going to have my medical done in Romania, the interview country!

    I appreciate the help

  8. I will need to go to another country for the interview.

I need to wait for my visa there,or it's some other procedure to receive it?

Yep,i know it's kinda early to think about that, but still...

You might find it difficult to leave the country without your passport. Since the Consulate where the interview takes place will need to keep your passport to put the visa inside, you can plan on sticking around. You'll want to find out the visa delivery options for the country in question. Since you won't likely have a mailing address in country, I expect they can arrange for you to pick it up. Just contact the Consulate.

Thanks, sounds logical,i wanted to make sure.

Do you know what country you will be having your interview in? I think Moldova falls under the Romanian consulate, but not sure. If so, I think you can pick up your visa/passport same or next day.

But you'll get those instructions in Packet 3, after NOA2.

    Thanks!

    That helps alot!

  9. Yep,that's human nature 'though!

You know it's hard when you're laying in bed with a broken leg, but when you actioly are in this position it's so damn hard and difficult...My point is that a human being is most of the time the center of her own world, and we can be supportive and understanding, but we can never realise what's going on in somebody else's heart.

Don't takeit like an offense, they love you...really! That's not about you.

    Why don't you celebrate instead?

    Woo-hoo,you've got reasons!!!

  10. Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as July 12, 2008* this is what my timeline says now, but yesterday it was july 8.

I meen, i'm good enough in maths to know that it's four days defference, it's been one day, and we're having a four days longer estimation.

Does anybody know how are those dates calculated?

I'm confused... and disappointed every day more.

I don't feel like i'm closer to my baby everyday, i feel like somebody's taking us for puppets.

  11. Hello,

I have a Q regarding the passport photo. In the USCIS instructions they do not state the exact dimensions of the photo itself that they need. Just that the full frontal image must be one inch from your chin to the top of your hair. I read an informational page on a site giving a very precise description to what the photo should look like, also stating that it should be 2" by 2" in dimensions.

The problem with this is that everywhere he has gone to get a passport photo they only do....about 1 and a quarter by 2" and some 1 and a half by 1 and a half. So our option would be is if he went to a professional studio, who then told him it could take over a week to get the photo, we are trying to send this application ASAP! What should we do? I don't want to take a risk that USCIS will reject our photo and ask us for another and delay our app. so should we go ahead with the professional photographer.

Oh and yes, he has already tried to make one on his computer and keeps coming out with problems.

    Thanks!!!

  12. My fiance is only just filing the I-129F, but once it's sent and NOA1 received I would like to get my police certificate done - one less thing to do later!

Do you know where I go to get one, or who I contact? I'm in the UK. Also, do you know how much it costs?

    Thanks

    Don't be rushing.

I heard the certificate is only valid a few months. In my country it's 3 months, some say 6, but no longer!

And here we're taking it at the internal affairs ministry.

You don't wanna do it twice.

    good luck!

  13. Hello,

I am back again. To start from the beginning, we sent I-129F to CSV mid-october 2007 and over 3 months after, we don't have any news of USCIS, not even the NOA1.

We just figured this out, because my fiancé was here with me in France from the moment he sent the package to a few days ago.

Anyway, he sent a cashier check for I-129F and we know from the bank it was cashed the 25th of october. However, as it was a cashier check, we didn't get any copy of the check in return... So now we don't have any NOA1, and there is no way to get a number from our check

We called USCIS, but instead of the 90 days, they told us they wouldn't do any research until 15 weeks after receiving our mail!

I know that the cashed check is a proof that they started our case... But I can't help worrying that something is still wrong...

Should I worry? Anybody else in the same situation??

All this sucks!! I am so depressed...

    :help:

    Hi!

Since they told you to wait 15 weeks, i guess you have nothing else to do but wait, but, hey, look at the bright side:

I'm allmost sure you're fine. The check was cashed, so your petition is at the right place. Now you can't check your status, but that doesn't necessarly mean that you're in troubles.

Whrn the time is right make a request or something, but have faith. It'll be fine. It's not that bad.

God will take care of you two
