  1. I finished my n400 interview at the seattle FO on 2/17/23. They gave me a decision cannot be made notice because of the I751 hadn’t been transferred to the office yet. I was told that I should be scheduled for an oath within 1-2 weeks.

I don’t hear anything until 4/12. The ROC today showed approved and a new card is being mailed to me. The n400 status still says interview scheduled.

this is really weird. I thought they were going to transfer my case and then approve both followed by an oath ceremony.

has any one seen this happen ? Should I be concerned ? Why are they mailing me a new green card instead of just wrapping up the n400?

  2. Today there was finally an update on my ROC. It flipped to Card is being produced. A little weird because it was supposed to be transferred to the Seattle FO where I have already finished my N400. Now I wonder when the Seattle FO will schedule the oath. Has this happened to anyone ?

total time for approval of ROC was 544 days. Receipt on 10/15/21 and approval today.

  3. It’s now been 2 weeks since my N400 (3 year rule with ROC) interview was completed. The officer said everything looked good and will be approving but can’t do same day oath because the ROC file was in another database and needs to be transferred over. He said I should expect an oath in 1-2 weeks. Since that time my USCIS account just reads

“Your case status is unavailable at this time. We are working to get you accurate information as soon as possible.”

for every case listed 😳. No word from USCIS. does anyone have any similar experiences or knowledge to share ? When should I expect an oath invitation? I tried calling them and they just said to wait for it in the mail.

  4. I had my naturalization appointment today (via 3 year rule, ROC pending). The interview itself was super smooth and I was told I passed and was approved for naturalization but the IO didn’t have the ROC on hand to review and therefore I can’t do the oath same day. He said it will be transferred within 24 hours to the FO and will be scheduled for oath within 1-2 weeks. While disappointing I was relieved to have passed this milestone and now only have the oath remaining.

did anyone else have this situation ? Any idea how long it actually takes to get the path scheduled?

I'll be in a similar spot, but it depends on whether there will be a same-day oath ceremony. Once you've had the ceremony you can look for urgent travel appointments at the Seattle Agency if you have proof of travel within 14 days. I've seen people in this thread getting their passport same day within that category.

Interesting. My appointment is very early in the morning (so I'm hoping no reason to not have same day oath). Do you or anyone know why you wouldn't have same day oath?

Also on the passport - should I call and make an appointment prior to my citizenship interview so I'm prepared or will they not allow that?

    Hello Seattle N-400 Filers,

Updating the thread that we have now been issued a USCIS Form N-4405 Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony for January 2023.

This would be a few days over 18 months to the day from the filing of I-751 Removal of Conditions via Lockbox and assigned to LIN Nebraska for processing.

This would be a few days over 6 months to the day from the filing of N-400 Application for Naturalization via Online and processed in Seattle, WA.

You can see more details in my timeline.

The journey is almost over and we are very grateful and appreciate all of you in this forum for keeping us company along the way.

    Happiest new year to everyone,

    G&A

    Congratulations 🎊🍾🎉

I'm sorry to read your interview was rescheduled.

It is possible that the person who had your case in their workload is indisposed for an urgent reason and they may have some difficulty reassigning and redistributing the cases to other officers. I don't think it has anything to do with your paperwork at all.

You'd be better off expecting them to take time to sort that out.

    Cheers,

Thank you. My best guess right now is that the winter storms in the PNW have disrupted interview schedules. It’s possible they are reworking case loads as they cope from the fallouts.

So, it's a bit of a disappointment. The letter we just received from USCIS is a notice of action re: 1-751 transferred to National Benefits Center.

    The obvious question is WHY?

We passed an N-400 interview more than a month ago while the I-751 pending at Nebraska LIN.

What could possibly be the reason for moving the I-751 to NBC instead of to the Seattle local office?

    It doesn't make sense.

    Any thoughts? Would appreciate it.

    Cheers,

Sorry to hear about the disappointment. I don’t know enough about USCIS to offer any insight. Keep your hopes up. Have you talked to a lawyer to see what your options are ?

On Monday I had my interview with a pending removal of conditions. I got the test questions, and then I was asked few questions about my marriage.  My husband was not required to attend the interview with me.

Then, the interviewer asked the yes/no questions, and then told me that I can proceed to get my oath ceremony. After getting the Oath, I got a case update that notified me of the oath. A day after I got a text confirming that my removal of conditions application was transferred to seattle. It is not approved yet, but I do not care. I do not know if it matters, but we moved to another state and got back to Seattle early this year. Removals conditions was submitted while we lived in the other coast around June 2021.

Then proceed to book an appointment for my passport. I did not expect to get the oath on the same day.   For the USPS passport, I was lucky to find an open slot for today's morning. Something to note is that for your passport they will keep your naturalization doc. You also need to bring at least two other IDs. It could be your DL /State ID and an insurance card for example. You need to bring cash or debit card to USPS. They do not take credit cards.  I chose the fastest shipping so I should get my passport between 2 and 4 weeks counting from today. I chose the passport (book) and card.

Any insights on getting the enhanced driver license? Not sure of whether is worth getting it since it is not needed until 2025 now.

    Good luck everyone!

Thanks for sharing. I couldn’t find you on the spreadsheet. If you don’t mind - when did you apply for the N400 and when did you get scheduled ?
