Sounds like you don't understand what Boiler is trying to say. B2 or C1, the need to overcome assumed immigrant intent is the same, there is no difference. At the interview they will treat someone applying for a B2 exactly the same as they will someone applying for a C1.

Under what basis specifically? There are a number of requirements, do you pass them all?

When visiting the USA on my B2 I would usually be asked if I have sufficient funds for my trip and how much cash I have. I would always answer zero cash and show a few credit cards from my wallet which was always sufficient. For a 3 month trip I would most certainly expect her to be asked to show sufficient funds.

It's funny how as soon as you found out it would be many years until your step brother can join you in the USA permanently, you suddenly decide to get them to apply for a tourist visa. You are making this more complicated than it needs to be, it's a very simple process. Get them to apply ASAP, there is no benefit to waiting. They fill out the DS160. They go to the interview and answer any questions. Done.

She should be prepared to be denied entry and sent back on the next plane home and rightly so. She is basically using a tourist visa to live and work in the USA.

He needs a valid Peruvian passport to use the one in his previous expired passport. Or he needs a new visa in his Mexican passport. His previous travel was not a small difference but a very big difference as mentioned in previous post.

There is no petitioning or sponsorship for a tourist visa. No documents are required, everything is in the DS160. He needs to show strong ties to the Philippines. What ties does he have? It sounds like he has family in the US? No documents are required for a B2 visa application. Police report is also not required. Information on the DS160 will be used to decide whether to grant the visa or not, as well as the answers to the questions at the interview, not pieces of paper. What ties does he have to the UK?

Zero hope, this is one of those cases where it's better not to waste the application fee.

A waiver is not guaranteed, it depends on the local consulate where you are applying. You say you are staying in Bahrain, I'm assuming you are planning to apply there? Unless you are a legal permanent resident there then highly doubt you will get an interview waiver. Nobody knows whether they will ask for more information - you need to apply and find out. Take whatever documents you think may be needed at the interview - but don't expect to be asked for them, I certainly wasn't.

You said your original interview next week is still with the original DS160? So use that at the interview as it's already linked.

No need for a new DS160, just let them know the correct details at the interview.

There's so many things that don't add up, and don't make much sense. What does make sense is that he was rightly denied. The boyfriend was the one who made errors that caused this, not the other way round. Cringe at the whole 'gf posted story on FB', one of the reasons I don't use it, so many people just wanting attention by posting their life stories for everyone to see, when it should stay private.

What a clueless post. Typical American entitled attitude, nothing new. You claim to be in the PH since January but I very much doubt it. If you did you would know the situation for most people in PH, and how a lot of them would believe/do anything if it meant there was a chance to support their family, including going abroad. The fact it inconveniences you personally is a very selfish attitude, CFO is there as an extra layer of security to ensure those going abroad will not end up in any harm. If just one person is saved then it's worth it for everyone to spend time and money to get it. Not to mention CFO is very easy as well as fast to get. Is it perfect? No, but it's certainly not the overly dramatic worst thing in the world like you imply. If you don't like the laws of the country you are in then maybe go back to your precious USA, I don't you will be missed with your attitude.

Ability to pay all costs is related to the applicants job/salary, it has nothing to do with amount of money in the bank account.

What country are you from? That is an important factor you have not mentioned. You appear to have very weak ties regardless, no surprise you were denied.
