  1. with the 221g, you can go in, just not the initial interview.

I'm curious, did your wife have the fat old bald guy?

was he a ####### to her?

When you go back in, please let me know if she goes to the same interviewer

or another member of the staff takes the papers.

    Thanks

i'm just wondering if i have to friggin' go back there for this 221g or not.

maybe if they give her more sheit......and has to go the 3rd time

  2. yea, BKK are being real PITA's lately.

for once, I Concur with pushbrk, your wife should have had your passport on top of everything so they know you were out there waiting.

I'm going through the same 221g BS with them now......jumping through ridiculous friggin' hoops.

As daboyz mentioned, on your 221g form, it says you can only go there to return the documents

on Monday and wednesday from 1-3pm. But at least you can go in with her. Show them your passport and make a copy of it to give to them. Explain to them you are here not there and maybe they'll go with your passport.

I dont know if they can make those documents for you there or not.

Worst case scenario, you'll have to return to the states, get the document and send to her.

  3. Our bump in the road- The Police Report

Well our extremely good luck hit a little bump today. Chada went up to the police station to order the report and no one offered a "fast service'. She asked about it on-site and called later and they said it was 10 business days. So its May 6th before we can submit packet 3. LOL, I just knew we were not going to pull it off.

So if you want the fast service you need to go with your SO in order for you to be "fee worthy".

i dont know about that. i was there with my wife on the 9th and they werent given it up before the 27th. we had song kran week thrown in there too.

  4. if you file for K-3 for your wife, you file K-4 for the child.

THis is the easiest way as no forms need to be filled out, you just need to have the kids name on the forms already files. You just add the child to the P-3 retun packet andhavet ot have the necessary documents.

If you filed cr-1 for your wife, the child comes on, I beleive cr-2 and you must have already filed the I-130.

If you did k-3/k-4, you file the I-130 after the child comes to the US.

I am in this k-3/k-4 quagmire now.

  5. It's often stated that ALL world religions have at their core a common Golden Rule "Do unto others as thou wouldst have done unto you". Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism - all bring a message of peace, tolerance, and good deeds.

    islum?...tolerance?..thats a good one

  6. I don't see Buddhism as feminine. If this was the case, Tai Chi is also feminine.

bullsheitt. now your barking up a tree i know about.

first of all, all things have yin and yang aspects to them. it depends what the qualifier is.

some say the earth is yang. Sure, yes is in comparison with the moon. With the Sun, Earth is yin.

Taijiquan my friend is not feminine. (or yin)

for the most part, 90% only "play" Taiji.....

Taijiquan is a martial art designed for battlefield fighting. not the bullsheitt fruit loop ####### you see people doing trying to get in tune with the cosmos and eating granola bars.

Thats great people do the dumbed down version trying to keep healthy, but not the original intention.

I've been traditionally trained in China from the family that began this martial art, and a 20th generation adopted family member.

  7. 1- Heed that warning, DO NOT teach your wife to drive. I know this from experience.

2- I used 3 ring binders for everything, when my wife came out, everything was taken out of the rings and out of the plastic sleeves.

3- Also, the original name change and divorce papers were in the mix. They looked right over them and asked for them again. so? what can you do? go get them again.

this same interviewer, when I went into the Embassy in September to find out how long the police report was good for, I heard him interviewing a buddhist monk saying, "yes, i understand you use the laws of god, but we are a nation governed by the laws of man, this is what we abide by and that is why I am here talking to you". arrogant #######

  8. for those of you that have gone through the 221g,

does the interviewee need to get interviewed again or do they just go in with the documents, see someone else and the person says, "yea, ok, you have this, this and this...come back ???day and get your visa?

In our case, when she went back in to give the additional information, the red shirt girl went through the papers she brought in, to make sure it was all there. Then she told her to wait, and 3 hours later, the girl gave her the 3x5 card and told her she was approved. She didn't have to interview again.

However I was told by the attorney, sometimes they will just take the paperwork and say thank you we will contact you. She went in with Nam and was going to ask the girl to have it reviewed that day while she waited, so we didn't have to wait, luckily they did it automatically.

It is seeming like they are using the 221g as a bonafide relationship checker, rather then for missing paperwork. I think the other thing that might be happening is the thai girl that is going through the packet for the consular is not being thorough enough. It seems like people here are getting 221g requests for information that was in their packet.

    Thanks for replying Aaron.

yes, I have to agree. 2 of the 6 things they are asking for was already in the information we handed in. SO, we'll have them done again and handed in.

I'll have to remember to tell her to have it reviewed while she waits.

Maybe I'll send an email to the Embassy nearer the time as well.

My wife is going back on the 29th, so we'll see. Its going to really tick me of if she gets another one and I need to take my a$$ back there again just for the 221g. Like I havent jumped through enough hoops while they give so many K-1's out with ease, "oh come on in, no problem...."

  9. You're probably right. I'm eager to hear an update from birchbeer, as to whether his rejection also fits this pattern of "routine" relationship-testing.

On the other hand, what sane person pays the money and waits the ~6-8 months through USCIS, NVC and all the paperwork, just to get to the interview stage, and then cop out at the end due to a rejection slip? Of COURSE we're bloody serious!! And yes, we'll jump through their damned hoops.

This entire process is ridiculous! But of course, that's the reason VJ exists in the first place, right?

well, as I posted before, we got a 221g. THey want another police report cause he said the one we handed in was a copy. Of course it was, I sent the original in. so, knowing that this one will take the longest and most difficult of the 6 documents. We went ant re applied for 1-the police report.

2-they want original my wife's divorce decree....(gave them already)

3- wifes name change from when she was a kid.

4- name change paper from her divorce, which we gave them already

5- mothers name change....#######?! the mothers dead and gone...im not married to the mother

6- the embassy's official sole custody of the kid paper. gave it to them but they want their own paper verified.

we can pick the police report up the 27th so she is getting all these things together this coming week and official translations. and then going to BKK the 27th or 29th to turn the papers and passports in.

for those of you that have gone through the 221g,

does the interviewee need to get interviewed again or do they just go in with the documents, see someone else and the person says, "yea, ok, you have this, this and this...come back ???day and get your visa?

  10. DAY OF INFAMY

    Central Bangkok a war zone

Festive holiday is turned into a black nightmare

BANGKOK: -- The bloodstained start to Songkran - which transformed large swathes of downtown Bangkok into urban guerrilla war zones, leaving dozens of people wounded - was marked by the first shots around the Din Daeng triangle before dawn.

Less than an hour later, the crackle of sporadic live gunfire from soldiers could still be heard, alternating with angry shouts from red-shirted, anti-government Democratic Alliance against Dictatorship (DAAD) protesters who refuse to simply retreat.

DAAD leaders claim some red-shirt protesters were killed during the clashes.

The government has denied a report that officials covered up protesters' deaths by removing the bodies in a GMC truck. It cited reports by hospitals that no one receiving treatment for injuries died.

Everyone, including me, has to run for cover every now and then.

"There can be no end if no one wants to admit defeat," says a motorcyclist who volunteered to drop this reporter off at the nearby hotspot. He says he is an off-duty police officer and his wife and children are among the demonstrators.

Protesters curse the military for firing real, not rubber, M16 bullets at them. Some were aimed at the sky, others apparently not.

Not everyone is sympathetic with the pro-Thaksin Shinawatra reds, however.

"They deserve it," says Pairoj Somjaipeng, a cabby in the area who supports the People's Alliance for Democracy, the nemesis of the reds.

"Last night they carried wooden clubs and other weapons. I think what the military did was right. And nobody died," he says.

"I want to ask how the reds love the King ... I think they love Thaksin more," he says, referring to the frequent allegation that the reds are out to destroy the royal institution.

The military side is led by Lt-Colonel Chinnuphan Rodsiri, who commands 200 or so troops dispatched from Aranyaprathet on the Thai-Cambodian border.

A lone monk defies the 200 armed soldiers, stepping out to address them with a loudspeaker at 6.40am, just a few metres away from the troops. He urges the soldiers not to shoot at people.

"This area has become lawless," Chinnuphan complains to me. "They shut the roads down and search people. Even the Asean Summit [last weekend], which was the face of the country, wasn't spared. Everyone demands their rights but do not know their responsibilities."

Soon another monk emerges on the other side of the triangle as the jittery soldiers shout. "How can a monk carry guns" cries one, as the monk slinks away.

Some distance beyond the front line of soldiers, groups of reds sit in front of Santiphab Park, or Peace Park. "We only have rocks, bottles and slingshots," says one. The two bottles nearby are Molotov cocktails, however.

On the other corner of the triangle, protesters claim they saw a driver of a bus full of red protesters get shot and collapse while trying to run over soldiers before dawn.

"Please help us," pleads one lady, in despair. "Please don't allow them to die in vain."

The reds no longer believe in much of what most of the local media report, as they are convinced that the media are anti-Thaksin and conclude that the reports of deaths must have been covered up or censored.

Protesters here and at other locations appear to be acting at least semi-independently of the DAAD leaders who are still holding out at Government House with supporters.

And as the day progresses and more shootings are seen and heard, more Molotov cocktails are being prepared at various spots.

Public buses were set ablaze at several sites, accompanied by the sound of M16s firing. At least three LPG gas tankers were commandeered by protesters by afternoon, but disaster was avoided. The shootings, clashes and burnings were disastrous enough.

A DAAD leader who asked not to be named tells this writer in the afternoon that the torching of Bangkok is virtually inevitable. "They have all the stuff prepared and we can't control them. People died, but the media censored the fact."

Protesters fight and retreat, soldiers shoot and advance. Victory Monument was abandoned, Sri Ayutthaya Road retaken, but the protesters - portrayed by most Thai media as a paid mob - regroup and resist.

Would they have risked their lives for Bt500 or Bt5,000 on Thai New Year's Day

The skirmishes and retreats and regroupings go on well into the evening as protesters scatter to some dozen pockets in the 2 or 3 square kilometres of downtown Bangkok.

Most shopping malls shut down on their own.

"This is guerrilla warfare," one foreign journalist tells me as we watch a scene so surreal, as if it came straight from some apocalyptic movie. But it was all real.

Some children, oblivious to the chaos falling on the city, are still seen splashing water as they would on any Songkran.

For many others it was red blood that had splattered, mixed with tears, irritation, anger, desperation or shock, depending on whom you ask.

  11. well, i got back this morning at 2am. I left bangkok sunday morning bangkok time and didnt se too much to do with the a$$hole redshirts.. An occasional police convoy and an occasional army helicopter over head.

regarding the embassy, yes they wouldnt let me in and 3 hours later, my wife and step daughter came out and didnt get thte visa., she just said "no". After looking, it was a 221g and I went back into find out #######!!

so, they didnt say now, just give us more sheit and go jump through some more hoops. and YES she got that fugging fat bald basttard. When he asked her where we met and she told him the Don Meung airport, he said to her five times, don meung what? what? what? real fugging a$$hole this guy is.

he grilled her for 20 minutes and asked the step daughter 2 questions.

She needs to get 6 more documents.

we have to redo the police report so knowing that would take the longest time, we went right to the police station and re-did it. We cant get that till the 27th because of song kran and everything being closed.

she needs to get a name change paper, a divorce paper which we gave him already, a sole custody of the kid paper which we gave him, my wifes mothers name change paper. ####### is up with that? her mother died in 1998.

then, you can only go back on monday and wednesday from 1-3pm to turn this sheit in. what BS!!!!!!

atleast she doesnt have to go see that a-hole again.

so, shes taking the 6 documents and passports back on the 27th or 29th of April.

she thought it was No, but i explained to her, it wasnt a No, just a "we want you to do some more work and get us some more papers first"

    BirchBeer,

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am sorry to hear your got a 221g. Do you know why you have to do the police report again?

Hopefully everything can be worked out soon and she will be able to join you in the U.S.

I am supposed to have our interview this week, Friday but with the current situation am not sure if they will cancel it or what will happen.

Dirty fat bald basturd said it was a copy and he wanted the original police report. which may be true.....

but he had the original divorce paper and others as well, sooo.......

I had everything orgainized nice and neat. When my wife came everything was all taken out of the sleeves and just a mess.

I think its closed now for Song Kran anyway. no telling what they'll do.

  13. Sawasdee krap to all. I believe that the only stupid question is the one that you don't ask, so here I go.

On March 28. NOA2 (form I-171) approval for CR-1 arrived via mail in Chiang Mai. Expecting Pkg 3 soon. It doesn't have an file number, instead it says NA. I'm thinking that without an A number we'll have a hard time getting the Police Clearance. My "DCF" story is here

Does anyone know if we can start the Police Clearance Certificate with our NOA2/I-171 or will they make us wait until we actually show them something from Pkg 3? We live in Chiang Mai and really don't want to waste a trip to BKK since I'm betting Pkg 3 will arrive soon.

    Thanks,

you can get the police report with your NOA2. that is what i showed to get ours.

I went with my wife and we used our NOA1

  14. My fiancée had a very pleasant experience at the police station obtaining the certificate. She said that although there were scores of people, she was processed in less than half an hour. She also said the officer was very funny. Her name is a title of an older pop song, and he was singing it and said to the other officers, "We're losing another beautiful one to a foreigner!"

While taking her photo, she asked, "May I smile?" He replied "If your smile is beautiful, go right ahead. If not, please don't!"

I reminded me of my interaction with Thais. They sing, they joke, they are so light hearted. I really miss living in that environment. sanook maak

This world would be a much better place if every country adopted "The Land of Smiles" attitude towards friendliness and smiling.

I think I'm going to be sick

  15. On March 10th, I sent the P-3 to the US Embassy in Bangkok, from here in the USA.

They recieved the P-3 on Friday March 13, 2pm.

I sent them an email March 14th asking about the P.O. fee because I forgot to add it to the P-3 and asking

about the date as we hadnt recieved anything via mail, (the P-3).

They sent me an email yesterday informing us that our Interview date is April 9, 8:00am

and to just bring the postal fee receipt with us to the interview.

    almost over

  16. just FYI about the interview dates.

There is a .pdf listed with interview dates up through April, found on the BKK website.

    doesnt matter too much though.

  17. I was reading back a bit and there was a lot of talk about the 131 at the post office. Ive been in the Embassy a few times and if my memory serves me right, there is a post office "IN" the embassy. After you go through checkin, walk past the long line of seats and the girls table, where they organize your paperwork for you, in that far left corner, is a PO to pay the fee.

Yes there is a PO inside, however since you have to have the fee paid when sending in packet 3 that one is not going to work.

Went down to apply for SS# today, it was easy, they only needed her passport and Marriage Certificate, so we could get the card in her married name. Interestingly enough the lady said she was authorized on the K1 to work until it expired. We should have the card in 8-10 days.

Little by little getting paperwork done.

Well, need some input folks. Seems I screwed the P-3 up which they received in BKK on Friday.

I thought the postal fee was supposed to be paid at interview date. I didnt send it in with the P-3.

So, now I am concerned they'll send it back, put it on old till I pay it, whatever.....

I have an email into them, I guess I'll wait till Monday till I hear form them. I've found they're quick to respond to email inquiries and quite helpful.....ayeee....any thoughts folks?
