  9. Follow the guide here and send in email address updates for both yourself and your fiancé. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nfin98c33IEpB0T0FlURERriblYmlm5O/view You don't need to contact the embassy, they haven't received your case and don't even know you exist yet. Send the update to the NVC and it will carry over. I sent in an email update and then the NVC sent email updates to both myself and my fiancé's emails, and then once it arrived at the embassy we got updates only from my fiancé (petitioner's email) No worries so far, only 52 days, you shouldn't have heard anything yet. Most people are hearing from the NVC after about 90 days give or take. (mine was 98 days).

  11. My Russian fiancé has her interview in Warsaw on Feb 17th. We got a Spanish Schengen visa for her. Are there any issues flying into Paris instead, as it's easier for me to fly and meet her? or do I need to book a layover for her in Spain? My thought process is the Schengen zone has open borders, so they wouldn't know if we then from Paris, were planning on traveling down to Spain. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance!

  16. Yeah I know it's terrible. It's possible my process was so slow because it happened during the holidays when all government offices were closed for a number of days. Also you can get lucky if the USCIS sends your case quicker, or if your case gets approved close to one of the days that they ship to the NVC. I saw people who got their NOA2 after mine, have their cases received, days or even weeks earlier by the NVC. It could be faster than what I quoted, but in general, for everyone right now, its about 3 months. The good news is once it's through the NVC it should be very quick. It only takes 5-6 days for it to get to your embassy (that's because DHL handles the shipping and not a government agency lol). My fiancé is Russian, since the Moscow embassy is basically closed, all Russian cases get sent to Warsaw, Poland. This embassy thankfully has a bunch of open days on the schedule, I scheduled our interview a bit farther out for mid-February to give us time to get my fiancé a EU visa.
  17. Yup it's the same boiler plate email they send to everyone. See my above response for more details, but it's taking approximately 90-100 days or so, from NOA2, to your case being sent to the embassy. (it took me 98 days)
  18. There are basically three emails you get from the NVC: Email 1: Thank you for your inquiry. Our records do not show that we received your petition. It can take up to six weeks for an approved petition from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to arrive at the National Visa Center (NVC). Once we receive it, we will enter your petition into the U.S. Department of State's database systems. Email 2: The National Visa Center (NVC) recently received your immigrant visa petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Your petition is now waiting for data entry into our systems. Email 3: The correspondence attached to this email relates to the I-129F visa petition listed in the subject line. Please read the information in the attachment carefully and follow the instructions. After NOA2, it takes the USCIS approximately 45 days for the case to be received by the NVC and you will start to get email #2. After about another 45 days, the NVC will process your case and you will receive email #3 with an attachment that has the important info in it. What I did was basically email both the AskNVC and ResearchNVC for my case number, regularly. Once I received a response, I sent another email, so I was able to track loosely, when my responses changed from response 1 to response 2, that my case was finally received by the NVC. Once you know the exact date your case was received by the NVC, you can predict when your case will be processed and sent along to your embassy, using the timeframes on their website. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

  22. 1. Everyone is different, for me it took 98 days. partly because the holidays, also partly because the USCIS waited like 45 days to even send it to the NVC. A good average right now is 3 months. 2. The Embassy doesn't notify you. once the NVC gives you your number, you track it yourself on https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx. It takes approx. 5-7 days from notification of NVC that they shipped your case, for it to be received and process by the embassy. 3. I used the trick from the NOA2 Guide floating around here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nfin98c33IEpB0T0FlURERriblYmlm5O/view As soon as I got NOA2 I sent the NVC an email updating both of our email addresses. Both Myself and My fiancé received the email from the NVC. They Embassy has not yet sent the welcome letter. That takes about a month after they have received it (every embassy is different, some don't even send welcome letters, try asking your region specific forum about this step.) 4. Immediately after receiving the number from the NVC I filed the DS-160 5. Immediately after the status of my case changed to "Ready" on the CEAC website. (this was 6 or so days after I got my number from the NVC.) Even though I still haven't received the welcome letter from the embassy, I am able to sign up for the interview. For example, if I signed up for an interview for tomorrow, and I still hadn't received my welcome letter. The interview would be automatically canceled tomorrow. So what I did is scheduled the interview for 1.5 months away, giving me plenty of time to get my welcome letter. You are allowed to reschedule your interview if needed, so If I get my letter sooner, I could move it up, but if I don't get my letter in time, I can move it back. But at least now I have a placeholder so I don't have to wait a long time if the interview appointments are all booked. 6. Every embassy is different. we are going through Warsaw, Poland, and the schedule has a few dates here and there on every month. As soon as a week from now and on. Some embassies are booked out for months. Ask your regional specific forum for more details on your embassy. 7. Yeah don't worry about that too much. As long as you're actively in the process, and not just sitting on your approval for months, they will automatically extend it if needed.
