  1. He did not give us the appointment date. It goes through the normal channels and we will receive another appointment letter. He gave us a "form" showing that we had showed up and concluded today's appointment. He said that "perhaps this is a legitimate marriage, and I hope that it is" However, there is only a certain amount of time alloted to our appointment today, and our time was up. Based on the time spent with us, he cannot conclude that this marriage is real. He said that our photo evidence was "compelling" which is why we are being given another chance. He said that he did believe us initially, which is why he "thought" he was giving us a straightfoward and easy test of the relationship. And the fact that my husband "bombed miserably" gave him reason to believe this may be fraud.

We were going for AOS based on marriage.

I don't like being on the defensive when we haven't domne anything wrong. We love each other dearly, and we spend every second together when not working!!! So frustrating!!!!

  2. Jomo, you there? You ready for this.......we freaking failed the interview!!!!!!!!

I am so upset right now.

Everything was going okay, until the officer opened my passport and started quizzing my husband about my travel. Now to give you some background, I travel for work. CONSTANTLY. Never the same place twice. In the last 18 months, I have been to Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Dominican Rebublic, Miami, Palm Springs (CA) , Boston, Bahamas, Capri (Italy), Scotland, London, Paris, The Florida Keys, Argentina, Rome and Switzerland. I am somewhere different every month. The agent asked him what places (Internationally) I went, and the corresponding month in which I went. I can't even flipping remember that myself!!!!! Of course he couldn't put it all together. Oh, that sinking feeling. After he couldn't put a few trips to the appropriate months, the guy got really hard on us. He found it impossible to beleive that "your wife was out of the country for 10 days, and you don't know where she was" It was horrible. My husband is forgetful, and then he was nervous on top of it. The agent then sent him out of the room, and he asked me if I "knew what I was getting into". He made insinuations that Visa Fraud was "very common" in these instances and perhaps he is "just using me." He went as far as to say that maybe he will dissappear after he gets his green card. I just sat there crying. I begged him to just keep asking questions, but he said he's out of time. With regards to all of our documation, he said that anyone could "fabricate" those. We have to go back for a more in depth interview in 6 months, but this is a BIG BLACK mark on our record. I can't even believe that this could happen. Because of a bad memory. Anyone heard anything like this before? Should we get a lawyer?

  3. Well, I've been to Jamaica, but never with him. We really can't wait. He's been away three years. I can't imagine being away from home for that long (at his age). He tries to play it cool, but when we talk about going, he lights up like a bulb. There was a special on the Travel Channel last night about JA, and he was in heaven. Everything they said, he was like "yep, yep, yep" and he's Talking about all the places he can take his Mom, (the Blue mountains, the beach!!) now that he has money. I'm excited for him, because he came here a a kid really, and he's going back as the man of his family.

  4. I know,....I come on here and the other place, just to read about what's going on. I was away on photo shoots for a straight month. And you know me, though....not much of a post-er.

Anyway, I have to say that everyone here seems so nice and so normal, unlike ...........elsewhere!!

How are you??? We are good. Di youngster is studying for his driving test and our interview. And he's hating the cold weather. When we see what the GC story is with traveling, we may plan a trip to JA. He just got a big job in January, so maybe we'll go in Feb. Can't wait!!

  5. Hi Everyone..............can you calm me??

Friday is our Interview and I am so nervous. We have been together 2 years (as in together..together.....not a LDR) every minute possible, and di youngster still cannot remember some of the most basic things!! Like what month we met!!! Of course I know the day, date, minte, hour, second!!!

I have seen many people on this website whose Green Cards are held up because of missing info, wrong paperwork, and stuff like that............but what about if my husband simply gets ISH wrong?? I think that there are "immigration" red flags (he's Jamaican, He's much younger, different level of education, etc) to our union, but part of me has to beleive that if these agents (if that's what they're called) do this every day of their lives, they must somehow innately know true love from fraud when they see it. I sure as hell hope so!!! Any insight? We have all the paperwork stuff in order (car title, work & insurance beneficiary, bank accounts, gym memberships, etc), but its his damn memory that's troubling me!!!

  6. I hear ya on the AP, but we'd never chance it with just that anyway. My question is......is there something that happens on the SAME DAY as the interview, if we are approved? Does he receive anything that says he's approved, before he actually receives a "green card"? Because if so, I think we'd think more seriously about tickets to JA. See what I'm saying? We would never go with just the AP alone. THANKS!!!

  7. JG- You out there?? How are you? Missed you! I see you are firmly imbeded in this society and causing trouble as always (just kidding!!). Well, not as much trouble as COREY caused anyway!!! That was unreal.

Anyways.....you know I'm not one to chit chat, I have an actual immigration question. If anyone knows this......I'm sure the answer is somewhere in plain site, but I don't have any spare time right now to look.

So, this is my question....youngster got his Advanced Parole recently. But we dare not leave the country yet because as I understand it, Advance Parole doesn't actually protect him from banishment if he was out of status for over one year (which he was). We have our interview on December 7. Does anyone know if there is some "Stamp" you get in your passport the same day if the interview is succesful/approved? Like, before he gets his green card? Hi uncle told him so, but his uncle went through the process 15 years ago!! We want to plan a trip to JA for Christmas, but obviously DON'T want to go with the AP paperwork alone. Anyone??
