No, she said in the DS160 when she applied for her tourist visa back in 2019 that she did not have any relatives, etc. in the U.S. and that she was going to visit NYC as a tourist rather than visit me. She was afraid that she would be denied to come see me when we were first dating if she had said she was seeing her boyfriend given some people try to stay in the country after they are approved on a tourist visa. During the interview she came clean since they asked her about it.

Thank you, i understand now, the co during interview check the previous visa and can ask questions about it.

Thank you for these numbers. We are finally starting June somewhat. Anxiously waiting to see when we will be lucky to get approved. I'm 98000 group.

This has been a long, depressing and overwhelming wait. That I am hoping will soon end

I wish everyone lots of luck for everyone to get approved soon to be with their loves.

How do we know which group we are?

    Thank you

Because she has no information about your petition /she can not see the case and she is not an officer that does the work/  she just answers the phone and basically she doesn't know anything /  the service is useless and the receipt itself says" don't contact USCIS"  as they can't answer your questions

What determines your case is the amount of documents they have to sift thru

    1. the # of petitions received in the recent period by the office doing your work

    2. like divorce(s) take extra time to verify the paperwork has proper court stamps

    3. any arrest and court papers for either USC or bene add extra time

    4. the country (embassy) for high fraud countries take extra time /and yours is France so no issue

    5. the officer doing the work and his /her experience

    6. names that are used over and over in some countries can trigger a search

but u just applied in March

    give it some time

use the following site to look up the office case processing times and understand they can change at any time due to volume of workload

    https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

    Thank you very much

  4. I called USCIS to get updates on my file, my application was received March 2, 2022 and the person from USCIS on the phone saw my file and told me that it will be finished in 3 to 6 months.

I saw that the time to receive the NOA2 was 10-13 months here, do you think it has accelerated?

She also said that if a document was missing I would have already received the RFE.

    thank you

I wish I could say that this K1 nightmare is over but it's not, we are still waiting for approval. It's been 7 + months since we submitted the DS-5535 and nothing's happened. The total K1 process to date has been well over TWO YEARS!!! I even had the office of my US Rep contact Bogota for status and all they received is the same ole scripted message blaming things on COVID and not committing to any time line. At this point I lost faith in the US immigration process. Life is too short to be in limbo., time to think of plan B.

I wish you the best and hope your case gets resolved soon.

Sorry, why did you get the DS-5535?

Echoing the others.  Be honest.  If the relationship turns to something more, you don't want a black mark on your record to impact any potential future immigration endeavors.

You are at the discretion of the CBP officer for allowing you in.  If you're that concerned, take some evidence of your ties to home evidencing your need to return.  Shouldn't be an issue though.

What do you mean black mark, it's if the CBP deny him the entry, the person gets a black mark on passport?

    thank you

Because ALL visas go through administrative processing after the interview. That means everything has to be checked and completed.  Approval always comes after that processing. It could take a few minutes, a few hours, or longer.

Thank you, you mean the administrativ processing is to check the police record ect...?

    It's electronic checking

Thank you !  We were advised by our attorney to make all the arrangements so we did. And the officer seemed impressed with these plans and immediately after looking at the receipts he gave the “visa approved “ paper.  Status still not “issued”.  The paper they gave us states give 2 business days to show changes.

What does the status show now if it's not writed issued?

The very best evidence ANYONE can provide is that of time actually spent together.  This is especially important for some countries The US embassy in Algeria even has a page dedicated to fraud.

Do you think it is okay if my fiance from France visited me one time in US, i will go visit him soon and I 129 is already filed?

    thank you

They asked for more proof of our relationship, some timeline questions, questions about our travel (our lawyer thinks they might have lost some of our original document submitted as they asked for our travel history which we already provided in the original application. They wanted to know why we had not met up more frequently so we had to provide all the evidence that the boarders were shut down. We had basically answered all the questions they asked, they just wanted more detail. So that we gave them.

I read many people met only one time and they get approved without any issue
