    Much thanks,

Surprisingly they issued the visas this morning 🙏🏻

But having got the email from the courier yet. Is it normal? How did it take in your case?

You will get email from embassy and the courier tomorrow. Then you will receive it on Friday.

May I ask what did you say in your email? Our passports got stuck there for 4 weeks by now!

No clear response from the Embassy!

You should start counting the days from the time they receive your medical report, it doesn't matter how long they have your passport as they can't start the process without your medical.

As for your question I just messaged them saying if there was an issue with my visa because they had my medical for close to 4 weeks.

roughly 3-4 weeks, keep an eye on your case status on CEAC / State department site, you should see your case go from Refused -> AP -> Issued.

Embassy is backlogged due to the medical results coming in late, don't stress and be patient.

It goes from refused to ready actually. If everything is fine AP to Issued takes 1 day.

Guys, would you please tell me how long does it take for the US Embassy in London to issue a visa? My passport is with them since May 5 (medical delivered may 4th). Thanks

From my experience just under 4 weeks from the day they have your medical.

What did it say before? What is your visa type. What consulate?

F2a london, been on refused for not having medical. They had my medical since April 11. Seems like since I sent them an email last night they started to do something 🤣

I assume you are talking about CEAC?  If so, my experience & understanding is that the last updated date changes each time someone scans the barcode on the file.  If it’s changing then I believe someone is touching it.  I dont think you email feeds into that, but someone could have read your email, and looked at the case…

It's weird I checked a couple of times today and it stayed on April 11. So I decided to send them a email and soon after I check again and it changed to May 9. I doubt they would read my email within minutes.

The information is confusing across all sites because the pre interview checklist link you sent says it is only valid for 12 months for the interview and the london embassy website says they're valid for 2 years :( I think I just going to have to pay £95 to expedite the new one.

    It's 24 months I recently went so I know.

Uk nationality. The officer took my passport and even said congratulations you have been approved

Strange, hope mine doesn't take that long, i done my medical on the 6th April. The embassy took my passport 10th march so I hope that's an approval.

Hey! I never got the chance to reply but thank you! This was a great help, and helped calm some of my nerves!

had it today and now waiting for my flight home, and I was APPROVED!

    Ahh! I’m so happy! :)

thought you all deserved an update, thank you again!

here’s hoping the rest is smooth sailing and the medical will go well :)

How do you get approved without the medical?

I had my medical earlier this week and was in a similar situation to you. I didn't have my passport because it was being renewed. The receptionist at VisaMedicals accepted my British driver's license (the pink photocard) as photo ID. I double-checked on the day that it was ok and she confirmed that it was all-good.

You will be fine attending your medical with your UK driver's license.

I called to double check earlier with visamedicals and the receptionist was persistent that I need a passport or a certified copy 🙄. I tried to explain to her that it's not my fault that the embassy took my passport and didn't give me a certified copy, she even had the cheek to tell me that I shouldn't of went to the interview before the medical and to go back and get my passport.

Anyways what is the big deal with them being so strict about passport being the only required Id? It's only a medical at the end of the day and I have other means to prove my identity 🤔
