  1. Around how much should I budget for the cost of the doctor check in Bangkok? (Assuming they don't try and charge her 12,000 baht for a non-required vaccination)

    We paid 8,400 baht...............extortionist!!

My girl called the hospital and they told her to bring about 8,000 baht.. In case she needed shots.

  2. hello everbody i have an interview of k1 visa next week, and as it was a hurry my fiancee sent me documents using the internet,i printed them all and all is fine, will this be a matter for the consulate and will ask me for the original documents?iam divorced, with a women who live in europe and we did divorce after some families issue, will this be a red flag during the interview, what do you suggest me to say or do befor the interview, and thanks,i only have the support afidavite original, bank doc original, copies of tax return, copies of payslips, the letter of intenet was sent by the internet, and the employer doc is original.i have the rest docs,we only communicate using emails and phone call as long as we do always have a busy shudle,so what do you suggest?plz help

I think what you have is enough. If you don't have originals just tell them you don't have it.

I think as long as you can answer the questions that they ask you and it matches with the information sent to them, when your fiancee filed, you will be ok.

  3. Just got an update for my girl's interview date on June 3rd. Packet 4 was sent on March 20th.

My girl stays in Satun and didn't want to go back and forth to Bangkok so she will go for the medical a few days before the interview date. Hope she won't have any problems with the medical exams.

I informed her of the situation that TingTongFarang was in, about the unnecessary shot.

Just excited that she finally got an interview date.

  4. Got a fast answer from the embassy. My fiancee is going back tomorrow for the physical.

Jamie, PM your fiancee's name, she is having her physical tomorrow too, right? Maybe our honey's can have lunch after their medical????

    The e-mail:

    Dear Mr. SqdnGuns:

No, the shot for cervical cancer is not required for immigration purpose.

    Regards,

    Correspondence Unit

    Greetings,

My fiancée is at Bumrungrad Hospital for her physical right now.

They are telling her that she needs the shot for cervical cancer since she is under 26 years old and it will cost 12,000 baht. Is this true? Nowhere on the paperwork for her medical and on the embassy web site it states that this shot is required?

I need clarification on this before I pay 12,000 baht for a shot that's not even required here in the states.

    Best Regards,

    SqdnGuns

Wow.. it saddens me to hear that the hospital is trying to scam.. my girl canceled her trip for the medical and will do it later.. thanks for the update.. one more question do they give the medical paper work stuff back in a sealed envelope or do the hospital sends it to the embassy?

  6. Hi all,

As everyday I have been looking at K1 posts all day as well as to my email and USCIS site for update . Personally the wait is driving me mad and my SO who is the USC is trying to keep me sane by calling me as often as he can.....but I am sure some of you can not spend hours on the phone. I got almost mad today seeing so many VSC approvals from february !!!!! I am glad for the filers .....don't take me wrong ....... But where that left us ??? you are all welcome to vent here i think CSC needs a thread to VENT  if not you are welcome to get it remove ;)

    (F)

seems the wait is never ending even when your so close .. its like you can see it but can't touch it kinda deal :P

  7. Hey congratulations everyone with the interview dates and good luck for the others on the horizon. My girl should be in BKK by now. She left her home town last night by train for the interview coming up this Wednesday the 12th. I am so excited and nervous as well. She should be find I hope. I wish I could be there with her. God bless her. I will keep everyone posted.

Congrats ThaiStyleUSA wish your girl good luck on the interview and may it be easy as pie :D for her.

Hope you two can be together soon..

As for me I am anxiously  waiting for the packet 4 to arrive with the interview date..

Just got update that the consulate received our Packet 3 and they say it can be 8 to 10 weeks for the interview date..

  8. WOW 2 months interview date.. I was hoping mines would be sometimes in April.. Hope they are processing the Interview dates from the BNK number and not from the date they received the packet 3 back :P .. any hows still hoping to get an April Interview date for my girl.. I am so anxious to find out what her interview date will be.. unfortunately I just came back from a trip to visit her and won't be able to make it to the interview with her.. It seems so close yet so far away.. sighhhhhh...

You might not be far off. When Rin and I were going thru the process last year, her packet 3 was sent back on 3/13. Based on others packet 3 to interview time, I was estimating an interview in late May. However, when I contacted the embassy after not receiving a packet 4 after two weeks, they had her scheduled for April 17th! I asked about it and was told that the priority for scheduling appts was based on how long the petition had been open. They didn't clarify if it was from I-129f filing or NVC receipt (the day the State dept gets involved) but Rin's interview was definitely "quicker" than others during that time.

Similarly, when we did the K4 for Rin's children, we sent the packet 3 info in and got interview dates 12 days later. Their petitions/BNK numbers would have been the same as Rin's so they were put in the next available slots.

Thats nice to hear that they go by the oldest case first..

Hopefully this process will be over soon :D

  9. He can't. We did not expect that his interview would be so soon and even requested that they schedule it for after his medical but they said they were too full and this was better for him.

My fiance has his immigration interview on the 12th but his medical is not until the 20th. He called the Embassy and they said that it was fine to still have his interview and the medical can be sent in later, but they will not issue the Visa until they have the medical. However, we just noticed that he has to have his passport for the medical, but the Embassy will probably have his passport after the interview so they can put the Visa in it. Do you know if the doctor will accept the passport color copy if he explains that the embassy has his original passport, OR will the embassy let the doctor send in his passport with the medical exam?

Why don't he go and have his Medical done earlier?

I see, so does this means that there is only 1 medical facility that can do his medical exams for him??

any case I don't think the embassy will issue a visa until they see his medical results. You may have to make another trip to the embassy for your visa.

  10. I have read on the internet that once a US citizen and a foreign fiancee have applied for and received the K-1 visa for the beneficiary, if they don't get married and the foreign fiancee returns to her native country, the US citizen can NEVER AGAIN petition for a K-1 visa for the same foreign fiancee. I have ALSO read that the exact opposite is true.

Does anyone know which is correct?

The government can not stop people frombeing with and marrying the persons they love. If the couples don't give up, there is always a way to go around their problems. If you first don't succeed try again.

  12. OK now I am confused. Do you have to meet again after petition is filed and approved?

    No.

You don't have to meet each other again after the petition is filed and approved.. but sometimes you just can't stay away from that person too long :P .. after my approval notice I traveled to see my babe again and helped her gather the paper work she will need for the packet 3 and interview.. I spent 1 month with her and now I'm back being alone and missing her. :P

  13. hi all,

I am the beneficiary. My SO want to join VJ also as from what i told him it does help us a lot. He wants to create new ID ....I told him it would be better to use my ID and Password as it does not duplicate timeline....Is that ok ?

If you make another profile it will help make VJ stats look good as members wise :D

but we all here know that VJ is still the best!!

  15. I myself got 2 RFE's . hehe.. for the Circumstance of meeting just write a one page letter detailing of how you met your fiancee and for the evidence you met her in person send in any evidence you have like pictures, travel receipts, bank statements if you made ATM withdraws in your fiance country, Airline receipts, copy of your passport pages showing the visa's and stamps... and fire the attorney and let VJ guide you the rest of the way.. :P

  16. I am asking this for a friend of mine, his fiancée was in a brief marriage 10 years ago and the man walked out after a couple of months and has not been heard from since. She never got an annulment due to the cost and never thought she would marry again. In fact, she was not sure if the marriage was ever filed.

He started the petition and now she has to get an annulment or her lawyer said the husband could be declared dead since no one knows how to contact him or have heard from him in several years.

So, is the current petition now trash since she was not legally available to marry?

Should he just withdraw the petition and wait until everything is done and start new?

    Thanks for everyone's advice!

That sucks.. how can anyone get married and then not know if it was filed or not??

They both had to sign papers to be registered. I don't think just 1 person can do it.

Either way she have to be not married to file :P

  17. I have been working out of town for the last month and a half, and the USCIS sent me a letter on Jan 30,2008 asking me a question in reference to convictions by court or court marshals (I have neither). The response was to be sent before March 3,2008. I got back in town on March 7th..I'm sending the response out ASAP, but I noticed it says no extensions. Am I screwed here or is there hope? Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear that. You should turn it in and then call them and see what they say.

  18. Hello,

I'm just new here but we had started our K1 process.

We submitted this January 22, 2008 and received NOA1 last January 25, 2008.

My situation is that, I'm now 5 months pregnant...

My due date will be on June 22, 2008.

We haven't added the baby to I-129F Petition as he/she is not yet born.

    Will it affect our process?

If the whole K1 will take 6 months I'll probably be giving birth before my interview.

I want to know if the baby can go with me to the US eventhough he/she is not included in the petition, although we have stated in our I-129F evidence that I'm currently pregnant with my fiance.

Want to know more about our case.

    Thank you so much!

My Fiancee was pregnant at the time of our petition and she gave birth on Dec. 13, 2007. We are still going though the K1 process. I was able to go and file the Consular Report of Birth Abroad (report of birth for US Citizen) for our child at the US Embassy. After we got our Packet 3 we added him as child accompanying.
