I had my interview today and I got approved. I’m so relieved as all of my husband’s documents and our marriage certificate got delayed in the post and I still don’t have it. Luckily they accepted the original marriage license and a scan of the certificate. They didn’t ask to see anything of his.
I hope everyone else is doing okay!
huge contrats! Hopefully your passport will be back with you late this week early next week! 🥳

Hey everyone, my husband got approved on Tuesday!! Had his interview, brought the giant folder with so many extra forms and proofs of domicile, etc and they didn't really ask for anything extra, just hard copies of everything from CEAC.
The guy asked him 3 questions and that was it. I think the fact that we live together here helped, I was really worried about proof of domicile but we just took photocopy of my still valid US driver's license, proof over voter registration and a utility bill from the address we'll be living at that has been changed to my name starting January 2024, as well as my US passport.
They told him he'd get his passport in 2-3 weeks, so now it's the final waiting game of this whole thing! We're probably going to move in July so we have some time to finalize everything here.
Sending all of you lots of good luck that you get approvals soon as well!!!
Congratulations!!!

I have to upload proof of income on CEAC. I’m filing my taxes now for proof of income. Once I have my proof of income he can submit his visa application. Then wait for an interview letter for his interview date.
So he needs to put whatever address he's currently at on the DS260. He has an option to add a mailing address if I recall correctly, so could he add somewhere that shouldn't change and he'll have access to?

Hey everyone I need some info help please! My husband and I have had issues trying to figure out filing taxes. I now am about to send them off so I can get my proof of income but he just found out from his dad that the council is telling him he needs to start bidding for properties. He can’t go with him. Will moving affect his process or do we have to notify them of his move? I need help please. Thanks!
What stage are you at? NVC?

Still showed as ready up until issued

I don't think you can re-route it after interview in the UK. It's not sent via normal post but via a courier called DX. I checked and definitely got a 2 hour time window. I'd be loitering if I could.
Does it show issued yet and are you still in the UK?
I interviewed in Tuesday, mine showed issued on Thursday and delivered on Friday.
-
Silly question but could you book an air bnb close to the other one and then kind of loiter around outside the other one on the day of delivery? If I recall you get a timeslot also?

We just got a date for the end of March! But of course the only two doctors in the city who do the medical test don't have appointments until April.🙃 Does anyone know what the protocol is in this situation? Do we just need to reschedule our interview date after registering it?
Hi, I think general advice is to go for the interview, and they'll issue the visa when the medical comes through assuming all is ok? It may be better to check with others at your embassy though.

Just to update for others, the greencard arrived yesterday so in the end less than a week. Thanks for all the contributions to this thread

Why are you filing a change of address when you haven't even moved yet?
You have 10 days after you move to update the address.
You will 100% receive your green card before moving.
We actually close on the new house on 22nd November. I didn't realise I couldn't inform them until I actually moved. We have access to this address until 8th December.
Fingers crossed the card is here in time.

Thanks. I understood that forwarding wasn't allowed.

If the card is being issued, you'll likely have it in the next week or 2, before you actually move. They print 'em, envelope 'em, and send 'em quite quickly.
Thanks. Fingers crossed that's what happens. Does it need to be signed for do you know?

80% chance it will go to the old address, imo. I would make arrangements for someone to pick it up there.
Does it need to be signed for by me? Or just someone?

Hi All,
I entered the US on a CR1 on 1st October. I paid the immigrant fee on 4th September. We are moving by 8th December and I planned to file AR11 today, however yesterday I got a notification via Lawfully that my card is being produced. I cannot add the case to my online account as I never received an online activation code.
Is it too late to change my address or is it possible the card will arrive in time? I'm not sure what to do? We have USPS informed delivery.
Thanks in advance

You will have the extension letter (probably by then it will be for 60 months, lol) by then.
You absolutely wouldn’t want to travel without it on an expired GC, primarily because you could be denied boarding by the airline.
I wasn't sure as the GC will expire after I return, but thought I might be risking it being that close.
-
Well, I've been here for 2 full weeks now on a CR1 and already turning my thoughts to ROC!
I know that I can't file until 07/02/2025 and my GC will expire on 09/30/2025. Unfortunately we have a major family event planned in Europe for September 2025 which I need to travel for. Is it a) better to file straight away as soon as it opens and hope I receive the extension letter or b) file as soon as I return? I will have one week after returning before expiry of my GC. I wish I could move the travel dates but that's not possible.
Thanks

How long does it take for them to issue you a interview? 😢
That really depends on which embassy. Which embassy are you at?

i m only thinking of getting things ready for the NVC stage. I checked visa medical website, it says they are able to provide vaccines if you do not have record obviously costing hundreds!!! I got it now what you meant got two on NHS and rest you had to pay . So would it be wise waiting until the actual medical? Or what shud i do meanwhile in terms of medicals so that there’s no delay? I am still trying to understand the process and the last thing you want is waiting for something which could have been kept ready earlier! Hope you understand.
Go ahead and start getting the vaccines you cannot evidence you have had. You will need them anyway. There really is little point in paying for titer tests.
In my experience, I got approved faster than anticipated, and I ended up having a load of vaccines over 3 days. That knocked me out a bit! And for sure get what you can for free on the NHS, otherwise they're around 70 each.
