  1. Oh great! Ours also changed yesterday evening, I looked on the r/USCIS subreddit and I guess a ton of people who got approved in early March all had their status change yesterday. Glad it finally happened for you all!
  2. Hope it works out for you all, so frustrating to feel like we’re finally done with the waiting only to be hit with this. She doesn’t, her GC got approved before EAD/AP.
  3. Yeah we had heard that as well. I’ve seen estimates from 3-4 weeks all the way to 30 days for welcome packet + 30 days for GC arriving (60 days total). My wife has some job interviews soon and we’re hoping this delay won’t cause issues if she ends up getting an offer. Best of luck to you and everyone else waiting right now 🤞
  4. Same situation, status still on approved and no GC yet 😕
  5. Yep that’s what we figured. Do you know if the 30 days to send in an E-Request is from approval date or date you physically receive the I-797?
  6. No status on Case Tracker still just shows “Case Approved”
  7. We did concurrently file for EAD, but that is still pending (I would assume they’ll cancel/dismiss that application now). It seems like some people are getting their GC approved before EAD/AP.
  8. Hey everyone, about how long should it take once the I-485 is approved to actually receive the greencard? My wife's I-485 was approved on 3/3, but the status hasn't changed since then, and the only thing we've received was the approval notice (I-797) on 3/14.
  9. Hi all, My wife’s I-485 was approved on 3/3 but we haven’t had any updates since then other than receiving the approval notice via mail yesterday. She’s been browsing jobs and found a few that look really appealing but the application windows will close soon. Is it possible/legal for her to apply for jobs with just the approval notice but no Greencard on hand yet? Can she say that she’s legally allowed to work in the US? I saw in another thread that apparently printing green cards is delayed right now, just want to make sure we do everything by the book but also don’t waste any possible employment opportunities! Thanks in advance!
  10. Hi All, My wife's GC was approved yesterday! 🥳 I guess our interview was waived and it totally came out of the blue, we hadn't had EAD/AP approved yet. Best of luck to all those still waiting that you get approved soon!
  11. Hi all, My wife and I just moved and registered the change of address with USCIS through their website. We received an email confirmation that the change was successful however when my wife goes on her USCIS online account she can see the following under her I-131 application: We're a bit confused, do we also need to follow these directions as well to register the address change with I-131? Or is this not relevant to us? Thanks in advance for the help!
  12. Hi All, My wife (fiance at the time) arrived in the US in August of 2022 and we got married in September 2022. She also applied for and received her SSN in September as well. She applied for AOS with an NOA1 date of October 10th. We are now filing our tax return for 2022 and ran into a question. We would like to file jointly (MFJ) but it is unclear to us what her current status actually is. From what I've been able to find on here it seems like for tax purposes she might be a Resident Alien, even if by USCIS standards she isn't one. In reading on if this was correct or not, I found several older posts here on VJ stating we had to file the 2022 tax return by mail (was planning on e-filing with TurboTax) and send in some statement asking her to be considered a Resident Alien for the IRS. Is this correct? I'm unsure if it matters or not, but she had no reportable income for 2022, so we don't have additional forms from that angle to file. Happy to provide more clarification if needed, thanks in advance everyone!
  13. Hi all, My wife applied for AOS/EAD/AP in October of 2022. We recently saw the alert on USCIS's website indicating one could make an expedite request for healthcare workers. My wife holds a MSc in Molecular Biosciences and plans on working as a research scientist at a biotech company or research institute in our city. Based on our understanding of the definition of healthcare worker provided she qualifies as one (see bullet point on workers at manufacturers), but it is unclear to us if she would need a concrete job offer in order to qualify for the expedite request. Is it necessary to have one in order to qualify? Additionally, are there any negative implications when an expedite request is made but rejected? Thanks in advance for the advice/help!
  14. Hey everyone, My fiancé is beginning to gather the necessary documents to apply for AOS once we are married and has run in to a question about her birth certificate. Specifically, does anyone know if USCIS accepts the "extract from birth registration no." (Auszug aus dem Geburtseintrag Nr. XXXXX) document as a valid English translation of a German birth certificate? She got this document from the same office (civil registry office - Standesamtsbehörde) as her true birth certificate and it contains all the same information as the true birth certificate in several languages (including English). I tried looking around on VJ and found a few posts suggesting that for EU citizens USCIS would accept these birth certificate extracts for I-485 but wanted to double check. Thanks in advance for the help!
  15. My fiancé and I are going through Frankfurt (beneficiary is German citizen) and I know the process is a bit different there than at a lot of other consulates, but we responded to P3 on 6/14, got the email that we could schedule the interview on 6/29, and our interview is scheduled for 7/12 (Tuesday).
  16. Thought I'd answer my own question in case others find themselves in the same position: At Frankfurt, you do indeed need to wait for them to received the documents you send that they request with P3, once they receive those you will eventually be notified that you are able to schedule an interview, but you can't schedule it before then. We were however able to get P3 earlier via email when we contacted the consulate, so you don't necessarily need to wait for them to physically mail you P3.
  17. For Frankfurt you send the consulate everything requested in the P3 via mail: Obtain all documents listed below that are applicable to your case (even if they were previously submitted to USCIS or NVC). Please complete the last page of this checklist and place it on top of your collected documents, which need to be submitted by regular mail to U.S. Consulate General Frankfurt...
  18. My fiancé and I are putting together the packet to send to the Frankfurt consulate for the K-1 visa interview. As part of it, we are trying to register the document delivery address on US Travel Docs, but following the instructions in P3 and on the US Travel Docs website we are lead to a page where we have to select the visa type and there is no K1 option (New Application/Schedule appointment > Immigrant Visa > Immigrant Visa Delivery Registration). Wondering if others have encountered this and how they resolved it? This is more or less a duplication of this post below but it looks like they never got an answer, wasn't sure if resurrecting that post was the right thing to do or not. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
  19. Ah we were unaware that filling out DS-160 was a prerequisite for receiving the instructions, I assumed that the consulate sent us P3 when they received our case from the NVC. She hasn’t filled out the DS-160 yet.
  20. Hey all, My fiancé and I are a bit confused about when exactly we are allowed to schedule the interview for her K-1 visa at the consulate in Frankfurt. We were originally operating under the assumption that she needed to receive P3, send the consulate the requested documents, and then she would be issued/would be able to schedule an interview date after they reviewed the documents. However, I've seen other posts/sources saying that you can go to ustraveldocs and schedule an interview once your CEAC status is "ready" (ours has been since May 27th, it has been updated multiple times since then as well based on the date listed but always shows "ready"). Is this something that is only allowed at other consulates? Is this something only Ukrainians are allowed to do (my fiancé is a German citizen and most of the newer info I see about Frankfurt only pertains to Ukrainian cases)? I've reached out the the consulate for clarification but thought it would be worth posting on here as well. Thanks in advance for any help!
  21. Hi All, Couldn't find any other posts about this or info in the I-134 instructions, but for K-1 visa applicants what should be put down for the "From" box in question/section 16 (Beneficiary's anticipated period of stay)? Since we obviously don't know when she will actually be coming over to the US, should we put "N/A"? Use some estimated date? Something else? Thanks in advance for the help!
  22. Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster! Thanks to this group for keeping me and my fiancé sane during this whole ordeal. My fiancé and I were convinced we’d get an RFE because we used DocuSign on the statements of intent instead of signatures, but I woke up this morning to and saw we just got approved!!! 🥳 we filed April 9th. I’ve updated our timeline. May everyone else waiting get approved ASAP!
