If you read back in this thread, In general the myProgress has been worthless in estimating anything .... Similarly, there is no transparency with transfers between NBC and local Offices .... I wish I had better news or a way to improve visability .... but best of luck on your case.

Emma re-emerges .... The phone answering assistant at Experian is seeming to be using the same underlying "keep them away" technology as Emma. Went through the phone system and ran into "I can only transfer people under certain circumstances ... if you want to use the automated system, press 1. To end this call press 2." Ugh ... thought I was done with that kind of silly at least for a while. (unfortunately, something is off with my ladies SSN and can't do a number of basic things like signing up a credit Karma account or even one with any of the agencies)

We got our green card as did at least 2 others on October AOS group. A number of us Dec k1 2021 in there and most are waiting. HOPING YOURS COMES SOON TOO

Suggestion to any in the process of getting the K-1 Visa ..... Based on our Brazil case .... 1) Ensure you get a fresh police report just before traveling to the USA .... you may need a newer one for the AOS filing 2) Ensure you get a fresh certified copy of the birth certificate - And triple check it for typos. That second one is giving us plenty of headaches now as we can't register our wedding with the consulate until the document is corrected for the typo and for Brazil it has to be within the last 6 months or they won't accept it outright. We can't get passport updated until we get the wedding registered (which requires the corrected Birth Cert) And that is limiting our ability apply for Global Entry (based on wrong name in passport) as well as updating her accounts like United...... The fun continues once they are here .... but at least they are here (so worth celebrating once it happens for you guys)

Don't use myProgress for any "Hope" or it is "False Hope" ... sorry to say. We received the physical GC on 12/26/2023 and the status online says that it has been picked up by the post office ... not even delivered. Our EAD and AP shows in progress (in text when searching for case number) and case closed on USCIS account. Unfortunately, the "Status" is very poor .... Seems that the best way to know that things are done (or needing more work) is to review the "Documents" tab under each case number. We got the "Approval letter" for GC well before the others this way. Not that you can do much about anything with USCIS process. On a side note, currently fighting with Credit Reporting Agencies to get her identified. Seems that something isn't quite right with the records there and they are (often) asking for a Drivers License. It blows my mind that a GC isn't accepted as a form of ID.

@ThailandR, hope you didn't send too much that results in them being "annoyed" ... not sure it happens but seems like you are trying to cover the bases well

It arrived (finally) ... and the SSN card adjustment is complete today. Up next is DMV .... Will be happy to share any experiences we have in converting over docs but so far things are going about as expected. That is, with the exception of the Brazilian Consulate ... that is another matter entirely. Will be here (like I was with I-129F group) to help where I can ... and looking forward to seeing most of you again in ~21 Months when we are filing our I-751s Remember to collect things that prove the "marriage" is real to support that filing ... (yes, was stupid we had to prove we were engaged, then again at the interview, then again for the AOS but it is what it is).

Keep the positive thoughts ..... That is all we can do. Well, that, and prepare to yell at USPS which seemed to have lost her GC on the way here tomorrow (if they don't have an actual update of status then) ... lol

Sure hope that USPS wasn't infected with the USCIS bug. Package (with GC) picked up on the 21st. Expected delivery on the 23rd. Took a while to get to regional center (longer than would have been normal). Spent all day with it saying it would be delivered today .... Then, a recent change to delivery date unknown. Guess should not have paid for the FMM counting on it being here since USPS said it would be. For rest of you, hope you also don't make $250+ mistakes on the USPS service (ooph)

To me, a check is better ... also easier to print out for record keeping

@grumpypiggy and @serret ... was getting depressed that card wasn't getting made and just tonight it switched to produced (today) ... so we will see if trend continues ... based on yours, I will be hoping for Saturday or Tuesday.

For reference we are a 09226 (k1) I see in case track when searching that 485 has plenty of "close" other cases not just k1 even in my group ... Best bet for k1 is to use the time-line search here but that is self reporting and not definitive either ...

When you receive your online access code, you will be able to see all of your cases. in our case, the original K1 as well as our AOS, EAD, and AP filings. The myProgress tab seems useless (as you have read in this forum) but there is a documents tab. In this documents tab there is a way to "upload unsolicited evidence" In our case, we regenerated a complete I-486, added a cover letter as to what was changed and uploaded as "Other" Since we had received an RFE for the support, that was also uploaded (previously as RFE response) AND when we had the legal name change (finalized court docs) we uploaded those (as Identity Documents). Finally .... any documents they send to you are listed under that section and can be downloaded (hence, have the approval letter long before it has actually been received from USPS) Here is hoping you get your access code soon ... Some were able to get this from Emma using the receipt number but she has never been helpful when I ask her questions.

@scholes18, I agree with @serret, I also actually had an RFIE for I-864 "missing information" which I know was in the original packet. I would not assume that anything being sent to USCIS does anything that bumps you forward ... Actually, in I-129F days, the wisdom was "don't" ... there were tons of cases where a "Expedite Request" was not only denied but actually resulted in an extension of time. Try to stay patient ... I know I am not the best at this either and we can all just hope to move forward.

Eddie, In our case (in learning from @grumpypiggy), if you answered page 13, part 8 question 61 incorrectly (Should be "Yes") you might want to make an adjustment. We changed our 61-68 answers in that section, attached a cover letter and uploaded is as "Other Docs" to the online account. If you answered it correctly (should be "Yes") then wishing you best of luck for a rapid completion

Totally agreed ..... Our EAD went into "taking longer than expected" ... twice ... Then AOS actually got approved ... Funny thing is "myProgress" under AOS says it will still be a few weeks even though all other pages say it is already done (including having the approval letter in docs) They really should just delete that since it is so inaccurate and generally useless.

Question for @grumpypiggy, @serret, or anyone that has already gotten the approval. I see on Case Tracker that there is "Card is being produced" and "Card is being delivered by Post Office" Let us know (or if you know already), is there a doc added to Case Status (online account) with the tracking No? Don't think I can use just the approval letter to "fix the SSN name" etc. Also kind of curious to see how long it takes to get card in hand. Have heard everything from 5-60+ days) Thanks for your continued support in this group

Weird that Green Card came first .... Think I have to thank @grumpypiggy extra for the idea of fixing that "Subject to Inadmissibility" question that most of us got wrong.

I-485 Approved Today. Still no I-761 or I-131 (work or travel permission) ... but at least the Green will be on its way

Noticed today that I-485 estimate dropped from 4 Months to 2 Weeks. Not that I trust that ... No notice, no documents, no other indication other than online "myProgress" ... but apparently the interview was waived. I-765 "myProgress" is still at "Taking Longer than expected" I-131 "myProgress" is still at "4 Months" Funny to think that maybe she gets the green card before the EAD. At this point, will be happy just to receive any of them so we can adjust the other "Pending" paperwork.

Ok, officially jealous ... your I-129F was done before mine and we haven't even gotten the EAD through yet .... Aiaiai Even so ... Contrats @grumpypiggy

Southern California (would be LA or Santa Ana local office) ..... @grumpypiggy is in Northern California .... But as I understand it, EAD is handled by the National Center separate from any field office. Seems you (LA) and Piggy have already gotten processed .... I'm rapidly sinking deeper and deeper into the unprocessed IOE09-226 group
