By the way, today is officially 2 years and 10 months since my application was received by the USA. Just sayin'. 

As we wind down another week... still in the black hole where matter and light do not escape. No surprises. Alas.

I have a theory they are trained to say that, in order avoid people panicking / having an outbreak while inside the consulate. You walk out a little disconcerted, but hopeful, and then you realise this is an indefinite wait. Ofcourse then you have no way to really communicate with them…
 
If this is true, it is nothing short of heartless…people are separated from their spouses and kids for years… the toll this process takes on relationships is immeasurable…. 

Another week comes to a close and no updates. Wow. Just wow. My friends, I hope some day we can laugh about all this.

Well, a ridiculous milestone reached today, incidentally--it has been exactly two years since my case was created at NVC on March 24, 2020. And of course, no update today.

@ice-qube Really sorry about your medical expiration, hope you all can be reunited with your families ASAP, this process is really a nightmare.

So medical expired yesterday. Wonder when they will even be getting at me to ask me for a new one....

i remember when i was at the interview and CO told me they are putting me in AP. I was cold-cocked, and in my head I was thinking bad scenarios like, "omg, is this going to be another six months? a year? what?"

They would not issue it if it will not make it to you in time. The Visa itself would expire the same day the medical expires.

Lol, still no updates. I think they are going for a minimum 6 months in AP, easy. To be determined, but apparently this seems to be their trajectory! 140 days of AP so far with 3 days to go on medical (we know that will add at least a month). So maybe I should project my approval as some time into 2023?

Your Congress person needs to get up in Montreal's face and find out who this so called visa was issued for as your fiancé obviously does not have it and they didn't even has a passport to put it in. I wouldn't start a Marandus until after you flood Montreal with emails.
Email them with the somehting catchy. Like member of congress stated you issued my visa already but in who's passport? (Ya I'm not good with words) You need a real reply from them about where this issued visa is.

I've seen this happen to a few other people and think it's common after many months have passed. I believe this problem was resolved after contacting NVC. Not sure of the details, but I would suggest you contact NVC as soon as you can and see what they say.
