Just got the status about the oath ceremony it's April 25, 2023 at 1:30pm never got so many status updates in the whole time we have been dealing with USCIS. The start of the journey with the K1 was rough took an excessive amount of time to approve for the time frame (2018.) Then wife got caught up in the sputum thing lucky after the culture growth she was fine, on to the K1 interview wife said the lady was extremely difficult but she passed and got through that. Then on to AOS we caught a break here as it was just as COVID kicked in (2020) full strength everyone was scared, we got waived and  approved for AOS no interview.  The rest is history ROC and N400 was a no brainer. I'm glad I watched others namely @Crazy Cat  and followed suit to what him and his wife did, it paid off BIG TIME!!! After the 25th it will be done, I'll throw all those documents in a big box and seal them up, put them up in the attic and we are DONE! It's been a great journey, bad and good you just have to stick with it and have faith in yourselves!!!!!!

See  everyone on the flip side as I'll be around to help where I can!

Well, the wife had her interview today 10:30am appointment time. I want to advise everyone that this is second hand information from a wired and excited woman so I had to glean portions of the following events: The interview was conducted at our local FO in Irving, Texas or for those not familiar with Irving, you can say Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. For that reason we left the house at 6:30am, why you ask so early the traffic in this area is horrendous and we did not want to risk traffic and a back log due to a wreck or construction so we gave ourselves ample time (it's about an hours drive anyway).

We arrived about 7:50am so we had a long wait until her appointment time, but we were ready we had pillows, blankets snacks, etc. You know the wife had to bring her make up kits and comb, brush, lipstick, etc since she would be messing her hair up while waiting (women) 😁. The place had interviews starting at 7am so they were in full swing once we got there. They would not let her enter the building until 15 minutes prior to her scheduled time. I knew from talking to several other people as they came out that I would not be allowed to go inside the building.

These are the questions they asked her remember you need 6 correct out of 10. The wife got the first 6 correct so they only asked 6 questions:

    1. Who is your US Senator
    2. Name your US Representative
    3. Who veto's bills
    4. What state borders Mexico
    5. What is Benjamin Franklin famous/known for
    6. What is a constitution

She had a short sentence to read: Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
Sentence to write: What is one promise that you make when you become a United States citizen?

She said the IO was cordial and told her she had passed the civics and reading and writing portions. The wife said she saw our I-751 package on his desk all 6lbs of it. He asked where her spouse was and she said in the car, it was at that time he told her  the interview was a combination, but there was no need for me to attend. She said he was concerned to see 2022 taxes and he wanted proof that we were living together. He also asked for items from the filing of the I-751 until the interview, which by the way served as items for the N400 too. Mind you all this happened in about 15 minutes she said the IO seemed rushed but he did not miss a beat. The IO gave her a Form N-652 which stated she had passed the civics, written and writing test. It also stated that he would be recommending approval of the I-751 and the N-400.

One important detail I think everyone should know she said the I-751 sitting there in all its glory was basically an after thought and the IO did not waste to much time on it.  He had already gone through it as it was in disarray sitting on his desk. All in all the wife said she was relaxed and the everything  happened like she had studied and we had rehearsed (we did plan on her going inside the interview alone without me.) She was not bothered by that fact since we covered it as a possible scenario before hand.

As of a few minutes ago we got status  saying "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled." Just a side note in all the excitement the wife forgot to take a picture besides the USCIS name plate, so I have to drive out AGAIN this Saturday so she can get dressed up again just to take a picture of the sign on the building geeezzzz!!!!!  End of story!

Once you file online and after your payment you will get your case number starting with an IOE usually. The case number usually comes  a few minutes after your payment to your online USCIS account. We got them  a few minutes after we paid and we even also got the biometric reuse letter too! So yes it shows as a case status.

Ahh ok yes you'll get an extension letter for  your N400. My wife got hers almost instantly upon submitting payment on-line! You should receive it if not the same day a few days after, then the hard copy in the mail!

This is what I sent, but your case is different. If you file online the N-400 will select some of the documents you need to send depending on the answers to the N-400 you give. Like I said this is what I sent for our case:

Bank statements, Insurances, utility bills, front and back GC, taxes 3 years worth (transcripts), NOA for  I -751, BC for  spouse citizen, divorce  decrees if applicable, children's BCs of NON US citizen (even though they are grown and on their own), mortgage statement letter explaining why non US citizen is not on deed and letter requesting a combo interview. Be advised bank statements  and utility bills are dated from ROC submission date to submission date of N400. We will hand-carry all documents to the interview dated from N400 submission to interview date and prior. Easy uploads just time consuming.
I recommend you scan ALL documents beforehand  and store on your pc in one folder so you know where they are. Makes an orderly upload.

According to USPS I can see two letters from USCIS coming today, they are from The NBC. The NBC is where my wife's N-400 is so I suspect one letter is the hard copy NOA.  Our Form I-751 was transferred on the 6th of January, so the other letter, must be the letter informing us of the ROC transfer and where it was sent. Both envelopes return addresses say NBC, so I suspect the ROC is there with the N-400. Hopefully that will facilitate a combo interview when it's time to schedule us. I'll post with more details as they become available.

You can file 90 days prior to your anniversary date, but your interview for the N-400 will not be scheduled until you  have met the FULL requirements for the N-400 (3years, under the 3 year rule). Is that what you are asking?

Do you have a current ROC pending too, I'm thinking you do. If nothing else maybe this might knock our ROCs loose as it did for many other folks. Hard to tell though, I'm just happy to almost finally be done with USCIS and all these processes. If I can just string one more through it'll be a happy time! I told the wife she is gonna handle her own dual citizenship with The Philippines  because I'll be spent after the N-400!!!!

Well here goes our window opens in a few days first week of the New Year (January 4th, 2022!)  I'll be sending the packet off January 5th, gonna use UPS as FedEx has been messing up lately (I used FedEx both times before without a hitch). The packet is 99.7% finished just waiting on a final December bank statement and I'm done! Nothing like a fresh New Year to start things off. Seems like yesterday we were struggling with the K1 and then the AOS. I did manage to submit both prior packets without the assistance of a lawyer, and no RFE (knock on wood). Those of you that remember we even got a wavier for the AOS interview. I loaded this packet with everything but the kitchen sink, perhaps we can get lucky again like with the AOS and have no interview for ROC, stranger things have happened! If there is an interview won't be a big deal we'll deal with it as it comes. So Happy New Year and I'll start this thing off:

This by no means is the gospel, it is just the way I chose to do our packet and it works for us. Thought I would share for those of you who are not sure what format to use. Pick and choose it always works! here is the cover letter I went with:

    ORIGINAL SUBMISSION
RE: I-751 JOINT PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE
FOR xxxxxxxxxxxxx A# xxx xxx xxx

    U.S. Citizen Spouse:
    xxxxxxxx (DOB: xx/xx/xxxx; SSN:xxx-xx-xxxx)
    Conditional Resident Spouse:
    xxxxxxxx (DOB: xx/xx/xxxx; SSN:xxx-xx-xxxx)

    Dear USCIS Examiner:
Enclosed please find attached Form I-751 and materials to support removal of conditions on residence for my wife, xxxxxxxx. USCIS granted her conditional permanent residence on xxxx xxxx xxxxx.
The materials, which show a merging of our personal and financial lives since marriage (xxxxxxx  xx, xxxx), are organized in tab dividers for your convenience. For ease of review, pertinent information is highlighted in yellow, followed with a sticky tab explanation if needed. All materials are one-sided copies, if the original was two-sided the copy has been broken down and copied on a separate one-sided sheet for your ease of review.
Thank you for your prompt processing of this petition and for what we hope is your favorable response at your earliest opportunity.
    Sincerely,
    xxxxxxxxxxx and xxxxxxxxxxx

The packet is fairly thick so thick I used two pieces of cardboard as a backing to the keep the packet or book some might call it rigid. I used ACCO fasteners, sticky tabs on the inside and dividers. I will attach pictures of the packet here:

The blue pieces paper represent bookmarks and will be removed, they were used by me to assist in adding more content ( I have been working on this thing since October 2021 and I am glad I started early as I got to take my time. I'll do a final check on the I - 751 form to see whats current, sign it, add the check then off to UPS on the 5th of January 2022.

To some this might be overkill, but I wanted to give myself every chance for success the first time! Good luck to all the  January 2022 filers. We all can do this, we got this folks. I just wanted to share with everyone who might be drawing blanks!

    Greetings All,

This thread was created for all of you whose window maybe open or opening during the month of April 2023. ROCs are trending longer adjudication times and many people have been concerned about this trend since they are taking in excess of a year, although some folks still luck out and get theirs approved and GC in hand in less than a year, months even! Not really much you can do about the longer approval times except ride it out and take solice in the fact that you are nearing the end of your visa journey.

Also many of you will find that while waiting for your ROC to be adjudicated that your window for naturalization (N-400) will open, no definite proof but filing your N-400 while your I-751 is still awaiting adjudication seems to wake up things. Again no definite proof of this but several cases, current cases can be your guide whether this is true or not.  Should you so desire to naturalize then I would recommend this avenue to you (we also did it). Yet still another note, fees are supposed to be increasing in the near future so be sure to check what the fee is BEFORE you send off your packet. Wishing everyone will have a speedy adjudication time and welcome to April 2023 ROC filers!

Yeah I'm going to start assembling it in October 2021 but I can't  officially submit it till early January 2022.
They want documents and proofs from the day you were married up until the day you submit your ROC and through too the interview should you have one
Health insurance. mind you all these should be in both names
Car insurance. Wills, deeds, rent contracts or leases, plane tickets, bank statements checking and savings, driver license showing same addresses, utility  Bill's, credit  cards, major purchases,  income taxes transcripts work best basically the kitchen sink! I don't  look forward to assembling it, but I'm  going to throw the kitchen sink at them. Maybe I can luck out and not get interviewed like with the AOS!
