Yes, if it gives me the peace of mind that my family and I are on a safe plane.

Don't mess with Parul, no man! I think that the meanest of all VJ members had her account closed toward the beginning of the year. Good riddance, and I believe that the atmosphere on VJ is markedly improved as a result of said riddance, si man.
What we NEED is (are) more responses in the "Wedgies, Si Man" poll thread, si man.
You know me. for more wedgies.

Did they ask you to get information on your passport corrected before they can make a decision or did they tell you that your visa has been denied?
If your passport states a different place of birth than your birth certificate, I can see how that raised a red flag. You might want to get it corrected.

I have been equally mean to some newer VJ members who tried their mean-ness on me therefore, I answered cuddle bunnies!

I kept it till my AOS was aproved. Nobody seemed to want it, neither did I after AOS

I grew up in a military house, my father is a 28 year veteran of the Army.
Crappy Pay? Crappy Living Conditions? Where do you get this from?
My father never rose above the grade of E-6 so no Officer's salary for him but somehow he managed to support a house full of kids (5 of us). BTW, with the exception of his tour in Germany the family always lived off base.
You can't make generalizations of military life by saying living in a combat zone is living in crappy conditions as that is not the average daily conditions of the majority of our standing armed forces.
Yes they get certain benefits such as:
Expedited processing, I have no problem with moving them to the front of the line.
Living overseas doesn't interfere with residency for their LPR spouses (works the same for any Government worker stationed overseas).
Only have to meet 100% of the poverty guideline instead of 125% which makes sense when you consider how military pay is structured (not because it's crappy but because some things like housing allowance are conditional).
These make sense.
I completely agree being a daughter of an army officer and a sister of one too and now married to an E6 in the US army. There is no excuse for being ignorant of the laws and allowing yourself to get in the situation that the above mentioned wife did.

i have all the documents ... pictures, jount bank account, joint house ownership, joint cell phone accouts, tax filings 2008,2009, jount brokrage accounts and even better ( my wife took my first name as her last...so i even have a court document showing legal change of name according to indian tradition) ...etc ... i was kind of doing the marriage certificate as an icing on the cake .... but i will stand down ..
Yes, concentrate on the paperwork showing how your relationship has been in the last 2 years and your future. Thats what they want to see, not another certificate of a marriage they have recognise already. Good Luck!

I have highlighted names, accounts and some dates in my documents too with a highlighter pen. Don't see how that will be a problem. It lets the IOs find what they are looking for easily.

My welcome letter came a few days after I received my GC. Sometimes it just takes them time to update their computers.

I think they are all white at the US Consulates in India. Trust me, the colour does not make any difference. Interviewees know exactly what they get - Approval, Denial or 221g request for more documents.
-
Approved with Daniel present there. Ours had a few red flags (Indian perspective). Both divorced, I am older (Indian women generally are not older in the relationship), did not have an engagement ceremony and he was getting deployed in a few months so we could not afford to get a 221g either.
-
Exactly, my piercings and tattoo did not raise any questions either.
-
Entertaining even if not original but then Hollywood has been coming up with cr@p lately so this was decent.
-
Can I join too even though my baby is really A toddler now?
-
As far as I know, you need to apply before the expiry of your GC.

Thanks everyone. I get the point. Some of the things are not really required and I will not be including in the package. I am compiling it right now so I can send it by tomorrow or latest tuesday. Tomorrow Aditya goes to play school for the 1st time and I can get a copy of the registration document showing both of us are on the papers. Thats the last thing I will include. So I am good to go. Hopefully, no interview

If her marriage is over and husband will no way go with her then its better to depart voluntarily to not mess up any chance of a visa in the future. Right now there is nothing she can do about adjusting her status based on a marriage that is not working out.

The maximum time in one visit is 6 months (ofcourse depending on how long her I-94 says). My mother has visited me 3 times and all times her I-94 said 6 months. Infact, the 1st time she came here was when I was pregnant and hubby was deployed so she stayed 6 months, went back and came back again in a week coz my baby got sick, she was allowed another 6 months but she only stayed for 2 months. both my parents visited us in january 2010 and went back in april but they were allowed 6 months on the I-94s.
