I got a couple of questions :
1. What is this PDOS and CFO?
2. Im petitioned for a K3 visa, passed the interview, do I need to have this? It wasnt stated on K3 requirements.
3. Is this really needed before enetering US?
Anyone please advise. Thank you in advance.
Yes..you have to attend the CFO seminar and have that CFO sticker stamped on ur passport. U cant leave the beautiful island of philippines without that
PDOS is for over seas filipino workers. CFO is for fiance/spouse.
http://www.cfo.gov.ph/counseling.htm
Per Republic Act 8239 and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Order 28-94, Filipinos proceeding abroad as fiancé(e)s and spouses of foreign nationals are required to attend the CFO's guidance and counseling programs as a pre-requisite to the issuance of passports.
The objective of this program is to help Filipino fiancé(e)s and spouses of foreign nationals make informed decisions regarding their marriage to foreign nationals and to prepare them for their adjustments in cross-cultural marriages.
Among others, Filipino fiancé(e)s and spouses are provided with the following information:
* Migration laws affecting them;
* Welfare and support services available abroad;
* Rights of migrants overseas; and
* Coping up with problematic or difficult domestic situations.
Hi. Thanks for the reply. It was stated in your quote that it is a pre-requisite for issuance of passport. What does this mean? Im quite confused. I do have a passport already. My passport is still in USEM. Im still waiting for it to be delivered by delbros.
yeah if u dont have passport it is a requirement to have CFO seminar before u can have passport. But since u have it now then the next step u will be going wait till your visa arrive and attend CFO seminar in which place u are close to it is in manila or in cebu. For more details heres the link http://www.cfo.gov.ph/fs_cebu.htm goodluck and btw congrats.
note: filipinos from philippines need of CFO sticker during departure.

I've read from previous post about this brown envelope thing..What is this? It says its given after USEM interview. I wasnt given any brown envelope after my interview. Am I in trouble? Please advise. Thanks.
brown envelop contents our documents where we are not allowed to open. It should be open during our POE where the officer is the only person authorize to open for further questioning. congrats and have a safe flight soon.

Hello I am really confused now!! I filed for an I-130 and read in the post that you need to enter account numbers for both I-130 and I-129? When I filed for the I-130 does that mean I am K-3? Thanks in advance.
if u filed 130 that is CR1.....so goodluck in your application

Hi everyone!
I feel so sad coz I called the USEM to inquire about my case then the operator acknowledge that my case is already in there system. But he informed me that I just have to call back after 2 weeks to schedule for an interview and to wait for the packet.
I answered him that my husband got a letter from NVC with the case number itself (well, I got the case number few days before the letter of NVC arrived) but still he insisted call back after 2 weeks.
Does everyone in here got the packet? And do I really have to wait for that packet?
I read in here before that it would be a lot better if the petitioner will be the one to call the USEM. Could anything enlighten my mind?
My case was sent to USEM by the NVC last June 24, 2008.
Thank you everyone. (this is my very first post....hope this will work)
Irene
in my case we got email from USCIS that i got NOA2 and i have to wait till NVC forwarded my documents to USEM but i didnt wait for that i asked my husband to call NVC for us to know our MNLcase# after i got the number i called USEM and schedule my interview. Operator didn't ask me for my packet cause they told me that there's no packet no more.
after i set up my interview the operator gave me sequence of number as a confirmation and he added that his going to send me an email and i have to print this email for my medical and interview.
so if they told u that your case in their system then u can schedule your interview by then.
i have question are u approved in both application u sent to USCIS? i mean 130 and 129f?

Hello everyone! In some of my previous posts, some of you mentioned a shortcut that cuts out about a month of wait time before the NVC receives the case. If anyone knows how this works, please share! I just need to know how or if there are any guides that have been posted before. Also, does it work for all the visas? I have a K3. Just received my NOA2 yesterday. thanks for all your help, all of you are so helpful and helping me maintain my sanity!! LOL.
if you are K3 applicant and received noticed of action2 wait in few days till NVC done checking your documents and forwarded them to your consulate office then be ready primary and other documents you needed in your interview. Goodluck

Hello,
My wife is scheduled for her K-1 spousal Visa interview in two weeks at the Montreal Consulate.
My question is does anybody know how long after the interview it takes to get the Visa?
Any info will be helpful, Thanks!
K1 is for fiancee not spousal..... mostly after interview you'll receive visa in 1 or 2 weeks.
goodluck

I had my interview last june 25. With God's grace I passed the interview and got the pink slip. Now I wonder when will I get my visa. Is there a way I can track it?I checked on delbros website and entered my tracking number but the tracking site is not available. Is there a way to find out if the visa has been released to delbros by USEM? Thanks a lot.
keep trying tracking your visa @ delbros webpage or u have option to ask them the status of your visa by texting them too...
http://www.delbros.com/ type your tracking number in the box.
http://www.delbros.com/txthot.htm follow format on how to text delbros.
hope visa in hand soon. goodluck

Hi
I feel pretty sad now. I have prepared for so long for this interview. But they didn't issue me the visa but kept my passport and asked me to wait another 4 to 6 weeks. The consul gave me a piece of paper saying I have to send them my CV besides my case is pending administrative process. It's so strange. I also asked the consul if there is any problem. He said it's no problem of my interview and he's sure I will get the visa and congratulations to me. Did anybody experienced this before? People normally get visa at the same day, right? Then what's the problem of my case? The consul also said no person was issued the k3 visa at the same day.
if the CO told u to wait for 4 to 6 weeks then u have to extend your patience..., they are just checking your documents . when CO said u don't have any problem with your interview then you made it you passed your interview. Congrats to you

I recently sent the K-1 visa application, and received NOA1 from USCIS. As the form did not tell me to include the Affadavit of Support and supporting documents, I did not do so. I have a friend who went through the process a year ago, and he sent everything at once. Am I going to get an RFE now? I am just concerned that I cost us some time.
u did it right...., some additional requirements will follow during interview.

Have a safe trip back home! Doc Verification is something we didn't have to go through last year... It seems like the majority of Visa Issuances are delayed now because of it. What are they going to come up with next? Anyway, hang in there and soon you two will be together!
