I got scheduled for the interview yesterday. Hopefully it doesn’t get canceled again.
I got an interview schedule as well. I hope it doesn’t get canceled as well lol

No updates yet. I requested my I-485 file under FOIA and they couldn’t find it. So now I think that they have misplaced the A-file or it is in storage and they haven’t gotten to retrieving it.
I just called USCIS not too long ago, I requested to talk to a Tier-2 officer, the info specialist blatantly said “No” she can’t connect me. This is so frustrating!

Still waiting for the updated date, Chicago Field Office
Has anyone received an update yet regarding their descheduled N-400 application especially from Chicago Field Office?
@rohsha any updates yet?
I just read that if a N-400 interview was descheduled by USCIS and haven’t been rescheduled after 30 days, you can call USCIS to inquire about it.

Hello! The same situation happened to me onFeb.7th. And until today I still not yet got rescheduled. Could you please let me know if you get scheduled yet or not? Thanks!
Where is your field office? Chicago?

Nothing yet since I went to the field office.
I got a response from the FOIA request with a copy of my permanent resident card and a copy of the N400 form that was already submitted online. Nothing on the rescheduling of the interview yet.
This is extremely frustrating.

Any updates on the interview yet?
No updates yet, I’m still waiting - it’s almost two months since the interview was cancelled.
@rohsha I was going to contact you to confirm if they’ve responded to you since you went to the field office on that day. Also did they get back to you regarding the FOIA?

I did go to the field office on March 6th. I checked in on the 2nd floor as was mentioned in the notice. They of course could not find the appointment so I spoke to the supervisor and he said he could not find the appointment either. He said he was going to put my application back in line for scheduling an interview. It’s been close to 3 weeks and there has been no change yet. I was reading in the Facebook groups that filing an FOIA request can sometimes help expedite the interview date so I did that on March 8th. I’ve only gotten an acknowledgment from USCIS that they’ve received my FOIA request and will let me know when the documents are ready.
Wow! What does FOIA mean and when could one do that? I mean what situation could one attempt the FOIA?
Also, if you have to apply for FOIA, which of these options best describe your case

Very absurd IMO — hopefully it gets done soon. I have a trip coming up in June and really want to get the passport by then.
I am really wondering if they’re understaffed or what!
I believe they are probably understaffed. I hope they reschedule the interview soon.

I am in the same boat as rohsha and richieee — got my canceled twice from Chicago field office with a similar timeline. Feb 07,2023 was it got cancelled last and has still not rescheduled!
Yes, they cancelled almost every N-400 interview scheduled for March on February 7th at Chicago Field office. I still don’t know the reason why.
They have not rescheduled the interview yet.

It is very straight forward I believe.
Since you hold a 10-year green card, you are a Legal Permanent Resident and you don’t have no conditions attached to your green card.
All you have to do is file form I-90.

Sorry to bother you all. Just following up on this post again! Has anyone received any updates yet regarding interview rescheduling?
I learned that it typically takes 30 days to get rescheduled for an interview after being descheduled (varies with Service center).
Anyone with viable information regarding how long it takes Chicago Field Center to reschedule a descheduled interview?

Were you all scheduled for biometrics?
I was never scheduled for biometrics. I only got a notification that “Biometrics was reused”.

As anyone received any updates on “Descheduled Interviews” for N-400 (Naturalization) yet?

Even mine was chicago. I just got notification today that my i751 was approved at the Nebraska service center. Nothing on the n400 interview being rescheduled. My n400 interview was originally scheduled for march 3rd. That got cancelled and I received a new interview date of March 6th. That got canceled about a week ago and hasn’t been rescheduled.
My I-751 is approved as well and from Nebraska.
I believe Nebraska is moving now for July 2021 filers. I filed my I-751 July 15th, 2021.
N-400 hasn’t been rescheduled yet after being previously cancelled.

Is Chicago your field office?

My Naturalization interview scheduled for next month was just canceled today. What could have been the reason? This is the letter I got.
Please any advise would be appreciated.

Our LIN case hasn't moved.
But our N-400 filed in July 2022 has now been scheduled for interview on November 2022.
Looking forward to do a dual adjudication of the I-751 and N-400.
Cheers,
G&A
That’s progress right there.
Was your N-400 processed at NBC before being transferred to your local office? Did you receive a notification stating that?

Besides, according to USCIS website, my processing time will be over next Monday. We will open a claim and see.
Just following up on this to inquire if you’ve been able to open a claim or got a favorable response from USCIS yet.

Thank you!
The RFE was because we didn't give enough proofs of commingled finances. At the time of filing we were living with my husband's father. Right after filing, we bought a house so we were able to send the house title as evidence when we got the RFE, plus the latest 2021 tax return.
We originally filed from California and service center was CSC. Then we moved to Washington, and I'm not sure if the service center changed. 🤔
Ok. Thanks for the information. Congratulations again!

My I-751 finally got approved yesterday! It took a little over a year! I filed in July 2021 and got an RFE in April 2022 that I replied to in June. I also just filed my N-400 in June.
Congratulations on this one, this is really great.
Quick questions:
1. What was the RFE about?
2. What was your I-751 Service Center?

You’re right
You may file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, 90 calendar days before you complete your permanent residence requirement if your eligibility for naturalization is based upon being a:
- Permanent resident for at least 5 years; or
- Permanent resident for at least 3 years if you are married to a US citizen.
To determine your 90-day early filing date, begin by identifying your 5-year or 3-year date as a permanent resident. For example, if the date on your Permanent Resident Card says “July 4, 2013,” you meet the 5-year permanent resident requirement on July 4, 2018.
If you have met all other eligibility requirements, the earliest date you may apply for naturalization would be April 5, 2018, which is 90 days before July 4, 2018.
You may use the USCIS Early Filing Calculator to ensure you file your Form N-400 within the 90-day window. We will deny your form if you file more than 90 days before your anniversary date.
