  1. My daughter is married to a Marine. Over the last 6 years he has been deployed 5 times. 3 times to Iraq. And yes it is very difficult. My daughter is 24 raising two small boys basically alone. It puts a stress and strain on them. They've been married 7 years this month. So if a 17 year old can marry a Marine, bear him two children, give birth to her last one ALONE while he is in Iraq, raise these boys mostly alone and maintain a very long distance, SCAREY relationship...surely our mere 6 month wait for an initial answer is a drop in the bucket. He was there for the Shock and Awe...saw friends die..was shot at....endured many hardhips..but their love, commitment and determination have glued them together. My daughter spends her alone holidays making dinners for the guys on duty that can't go home, assisting new wives of Marines and new moms. Her way of dealing is to stay busy and help others. Suck it up guys...we can do this...the more positive we stay...the more FOCUSED we stay...the easier the wait will be. We have two choices...be miserable and watch the time tick...or be positive and find good things to do to fill our time. SEMPER FI...is the marines Moto...ALWAYS FAITHFUL. Lets be faithful to ourselves, to our loved ones and to our journey!!! So when you feel down...go to the mirror....and say...SEMPER FI....this WILL pass.... Find your inner strength and make it a good experience. A time of growth and successes. Byron, Mirla, and other who still wait from May...your time is coming...it is...hang in there...SEMPER FI !!! If my daughter can achieve all this from the young age of 17 to now....then I certainly can handle this short time in my life. My daughter is my inspiration in my journey...THANK YOU MEL...MOM LOVES YOU!!

    Wow! I am telling you...if it´s you on the pic I am looking at, it seems like you are 24...wouldn´t certainly think you have a 24 year old daughter :o

  2. I am what is often refered to as a "sci-fi geek" I own a large collection of fantasy novels and DVDs. I often find myself in a world surrounded by dragons, wizards, elves and magic....it's often better than this one! I like aragorn in LOTR, I like my men to look like men....mind you Nick is very legolas (but with a beard). He's got blonde hair most women would kill for...naturally golden and thick with natural highlights...he only needs to condition twice a week, it's super soft....so not fair!!!

    Sci-fi :thumbs::dance:

  3. Ohh all these lucky people spending so much time with their OH's - I get six more days with mine before I marry him - now there is a scary thought!!!

    Debz - I think I like them both although I prefer Orlando in LOTR with the girly hair and pointy ears... but then I always was a bit weird like that... think I read too many fantasy novels :D

    I prefer Orlando in LOTR too hehe :thumbs: I think that was the first time I noticed him anyways...when I saw him after that I couldn´t believe he had dark hair :unsure:

  4. I don´t go checking their website too many times a day...there´s not much use in that...I usually do it once in the morning and then sometimes check it before bedtime....sometimes I leave the day out or two....sometimes I look in the middle of the day. So if you consider it´s similar to teeth brushing (1-3 times a day) I don´t consider it obssesive or anything (btw leaving a day or two out doesn´t apply on teeth brushing hehe :thumbs: )

    I am staying possitive too...I don´t wanna stress about this and get a heart attack you know... :whistle: Even if it looks like we will have to cancel our wedding date. Though we don´t know how to determine, when it´s time to cancel the wedding date if that´s the case...we were thinking something like...if we don´t get our NOA2 by the middle of November, then probly cancel it....but then what if we receive the NOA2 a day or two after? Hehe :unsure:

    Anyway...it´s a brand new week, so please CSC and VSC start it pumping out again :D:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

  5. 26 approvals this week! I think we might have a winner... ;)

    (just incidentally: the latest couple to update their timeline, Gauri and Varun, don't seem to have a timeline - tennyrate, their names aren't clickable... anyone know what's going on there?)

    Dunno what´s up with that...but if you look up Varun, their profile works...

    :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance: Lotsa approvals :D:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

    So are those four June NOA1 receivers included in our grand total of 25 this week!?

    Which NOA1 receivers do you mean? :P Are you getting butterflies in your stomach? :D:whistle:
