  1. Update: their interview went great. they were out of USA for 11 months during covid, and they forgave that. Got oath and certificate same day! Great to see quick turnaround on applications these days. My uncle live in dallas and their interview is next month when they applied in September (3 months) --- unreal.
  2. PSA: Applying for passport after neutralization is biggest hurdle. Just put a reminder in your calendar a month before your interview and book a slot at USPS website. they open days at 6am PST - a month out
  3. my parents application was filed in Late May and interview is Oct 25th. so yeah things are getting fast. Great to see. best of luck
  4. Hey.. a good news and bad news for my parents Good news: the interviewer did take corona as a reason and didnt had issue with more than 6 months absense. Bad news: I did a miscalculation on number of days in USA - 5 years before and applied 20 days early. so they didnt meet the residency requirement :(. I even told the officer that they have not left outside of USA past 1.5 year. and to consider it. they said no, its the time before the application and not he interview. they said to apply again, as they qualify again. but they get back into the queue and need to give interview and test again (which they aced) thats a bummer. wish i was a bit lazy and took another month to apply for them. well it is what it is.
  5. Has someone recently applied for first time passport from USPS - expedited or not. if so then how long is it taking these days for processing?
  6. Congrats first of all. When did group oath ceremony started? My aged parents appointment is at 6.30 am i was hoping they do their oath 30-40 mins after their interview (as it was done during covid restrictions) and they will avoid group settings. Also if they have to come back for oath 2pm+ then i need to figure the travel as need to figure how to move my meetings. Will see. hope they still willing to do individual oath right after interview for older people. Also do you remember which docs they asked for other than passport and green card? birth certificate? tax returns? Any one recently applied for first time passport from USPS office as urgent processing? how long it took before you received the passports?
