  1. In the Philippines, if you're pinoy, nothing to worry about. you'll be just fine. re NAIA/MNL, nothing has changed. you can be away for 100 years and when you come back, things will still be the same. :-) (accdg. to my fiancee)

Well, from what I've been reading from other posts, it did change- for the worse. You are absolutely right, I grew up there and I shouldn't worry. I was just thinking some may give the heads up as to what to expect, etc. Well, it doesn't hurt to be in the loop. :D

  2. i think you're trying to ask about a cheaper ticket fare going to MNL right? not outside the country yet?

Going to Manila from the US. Was also asking about recent experiences in NAIA, etc, since I haven't been to P.I for sometime..

  3. hehe, PAL is the best and easiest as well as cheapest. Fly from san Francisco to get best fares. LAX is a little more expensive.

.... I always go through NAIA terminal 2.

Best of luck, and may you have safe traveling mercies.

I was just reading another thread- the "BEWARE THREAD"-( saw your posts, as well as the other VJ'ers), and yeah, I realized the people in the airport got worse..In all my previous travels I have seen both terminals (I haven't been to T3), and NAIA T2 is way way better than the old one, in terms of people and service and easy access.

I miss the Philippines and some of my siblings are still there. I grew up in Makati City, so I think I will be able to navigate the streets, and even drive in Manila..( I hope! I have been sooo disciplined here in the US).

Thanks, and God bless you and your queen!

  4. Just bought my ticket for June last week on Orbitz: $1675.00 ... lowest fare I could find - and I searched awhile, even through my travel agent friends. It was also the quickest flight for the money - 23 hrs. Last year it was $500 cheaper.

What was the carrier? Did you go for PAL?

    Thanks for replying!

  5. Hello guys. My children were scheduled for interview on July 1st, so I am going to Manila second or third week of June, and I am still trying to book my flight ( maybe someone can suggest a good airline aside from PAL). I have been away for 4 years, and I dont know now what to expect or not to expect, or maybe nothing has changed much really. Anyway I will truly appreciate any replies, any tips, especially at NAIA.

    Thanks!!

  7. Congrats, Tina..Hoping to get end of June/Early July interview, too..

Some questions..I know yours is fiance visa, but someone might help out, as well.

Are we the ones to sched interview online? Ours is IR2.

The AVR said our cases were completed May4. Do we wait for NVC to sched us?

Thanks! And God bless to all those with June scheduled interviews already. May the Lord guide you all the way!!

  8. Wife and son finally made it home Thursday evening. Flight landed at 8:30 PM but she did not clear Immigration until midnight. The first two agent she dealt with in immigration were a$holes, she was pi$ed at them. Both were Filipino and they were talking ####### about her in Tagalog, they had no idea that she understands Tagalog, she learned quite a bit when she stayed with me in the Philippines when I worked there.

Long story short, she approached another Immigration Officer and he was very accommodating. When she was leaving the immigration office at LAX, she made a comment to the two Filipino Immigration Officers in Tagalog, they were horrified she could speak Tagalog. Wished I could have seen their faces!! My wife don't take sh!t from anyone, makes me proud!!

Good luck to rest of you!!

We should receive her 10 year Green card soon as well as her Social Security card.

So sorry to know about your experience. I wish all Filipino VJers could gather around them and hit them in the head! Grrrrr!

  9. Hi guys..I finally get to catch up with you and see that a lot of the our fellow TSC refugees have CC's. Congrats, and may God be with you on your interviews. Almost done!! I am soo happy for you, guys!!

As for us, we request that you include us in your prayers, as well...(Where else can I vent but with those I have struggled in TSC with??..)

We are still waiting for SIF and CC, but we are not in a rush, as I have been having difficulties with the Dad of my children, who refuses to sign the Affidavit allowing the kids to come here, when all he does is provide for their finances and is not really there for moral guidance ( he leaves the children with the caretakers and takes off). Cant do court case, as it will take years and drain our finances..so for now we can only hope and pray..

I hope when the interview sched comes, we have already come up with the affidavit..

Sorry for venting..I know its a happy time for most of you, and I know there will be people here who will still include us in their prayers. I so miss the children.

How are you, Lara? I hope the best for you and your baby as well..

  10. Thanks guys for sharing your experiences.

Does this mean that the system will not honor the HS diploma of my eldest? Does it matter where they graduated in HS? They're both in La Salle.

About International Student Processing- Is this by school, or is it standardized?

My problem is the 17 year old, as what was pointed out. Would probably not want to go through HS again... :(

  11. I just want to ask if anyone can share any experience about transition to schooling, with regards to their children.

My eldest son, who is 17, has started college in the Philippines; my other son is now 15, and is a HS Senior ( he was accelerated);and we are expecting them to be here by Aug/Sept, God-willing.

My children has apprehensions about coming to live in the US, with regards to schooling, as they might not be allowed to be in the current school level they are in.

Anyone can share any input or advice? I will appreciate it very much if someone can shed some light on how I can make their transition here easier.

    Thanks!

  12. Just called the AVR at NVC, and, we have ANOTHER RFE regarding, as they put it "missing or incomplete information in our financial evidence".The nightmare goes on for us.

That was exactly what we got, too. And the nightmare goes on for us, as well. Will do all paperwork next week as I am already getting drained from all these; I guess i also have to look after myself.

We also requested for the new tax transcript for 2010, so we really have to wait. We filed for I-864W, but they said they still need all the other documents. Why do they categorize the I-864 when they would still request for the other documents? The children were clearly included in the Child Citizenship Act.

We would just comply just so we wouldn't have anymore problems with the interview.

  13. Just got off the phone with a very very rude operator named Tori, and said we need to submit more financial docs. When I requested her to go over them, she said with a smartA#% attitude- "Well, this is a long list, and I am not going over them to you". So I said, I am just wonderin' why cuz we submitted I-864W, and the website was specific that we just submit the form. She said- well you just have to wait. And then said-"anything else?". So, frustrated that I am, let her go.

I am biological mom, and also USC, so the minor children will be derivatives once they come here, so I think we filed the correct form.

Any suggestions? I am so frustrated with this system...I am now telling my husband I just want to go back home, and take our 2 yr old to the Philippines so all my children will be together.

  14. hahaha, yeah I have been MIA, getting everything together, thanks for thinking of me! We got everything ready to go, putting the final touches on all :) It is our first anniversary today also, so we are hoping for a nice anniversary gift tomorrow!

Happy Anniversary, Xelance and wife! Wishing you all the best on your interview, and hoping for the light at the end of the black tunnel we were all once in! We are cheering for you!
