    Hi y'all,

Question: For anyone who had to mail the medical exam, how long did it take them to say it was received?

We applied April 19, 2022, Expedite request got my husband his work and travel permit by the end of July 22 and we next heard from them on May 10, 2023 when they approved the I-130 and sent and RFE to request us to mail the medical exam to the field office. We did on May 25, and USPS says it was delivered on May 28. Our status is still at "RFE sent."

Same here got rfe for medicals and sent them in May status still says rfe sent.

Hello everyone! Happy to be joining this group of April Filers :) we are K-1 approved, now adjusting status. Sent i-485, i-131 & i-765 April 2, NOA1 on April 4. Waiting for biometrics appointment. Hope to hear something soon. Submitted to Phoenix Lockbox🙂

Hi how are you? We are on the same journey, we also submitted 485, 765 and 131 recently just got a text message acknowledging receipt. This is the second submission, unfortunately the first one we forgot to include the fees! Refiled and looks like it's good this time. We submitted to Chicago PO Box address.

Anyone knows how long to get particularly the AP approval?

    Good luck to all!

It takes a long time, unfortunately, but the good news for you is that you at least applied in plenty of time. The only thing you can do at this point is basically be patient, and call your local office once in a while to make sure that they haven’t forgotten about you. Given that you applied pretty quickly after entry, hopefully you will be fine. Best of luck!

    Thank you. Yes, waiting now!

Good advice.  My fiance arrived on 1/15/2022 and we applied for her ssn on 1/19/2022.  For some reason, there were two Casecheck verifications submitted, (on 2/2 and 3/1)  We were told that the first verification (automatic) was not cleared.  So, they had to send documents to USCIS and manual verification (3/1) was started.  Good news is the second verification was cleared on (3/16).  So, we called and they told us to expect the SS card within 1-2 weeks.  We hope that this is the end of the waiting game.

Good to know of a timeline, thank you, I did call the SSN office and told them to follow up since it says the agency can contact SAVE if not heard for 20 days. The rep said she needs to check if they can and will follow up. So hopefully it'll start moving. You can't add an updated W4 w/o the spouse's SSN right? Has anyone tried to get an ITIN, is that faster? And drivers license for her also and they all get backed up w/o SSN. We are planning to send the 485 packet this weekend, do you think SAVE verification or getting SSN is dependent on submitting filing 485?

  5. Hi, my now wife came to the US on K1 visa on 2/3/22 and we applied for social security number for her on 2/25. The office says it's pending verification based on her I-94 etc. The SAVE system keeps showing Case Under Review. But that the requesting agency can contact them if they haven't heard in 20 days. Is there anywhere we can check/follow up on that Save system? I thought it's going to be pretty straightforward, she came here on K1 visa and has an electronic I94, but it's taking so long.

My case was received at NVC on December 16th but has been there since.  I think I missed the last shipment date (Dec 21/22) so I'm hoping I can make the next shipment date which I think is Jan 4/5.

When you were booking an appointment in Mumbai, what were the earliest dates available?  I'm just trying to get a sense of how far out the appointment will be from the day that our case is declared "ready"

I see. When I was checking there were plenty of appointments available, but had to go back in a few times to select something further out since other things need to line up PCC Medicals etc. FYI if it matters, I didn't wait until it's ready at NVC, we started ds 160 once we got the NVC number and paid the DS 160 fee a week later. That way you can check interview appts even if you don't book yet.

I have noticed that almost all cases sent to India are "Ready" within less than a week of being "In Transit" so seems like the norm.

If your case is ready you can go ahead and schedule your appointment (provided you have done all the prerequisites like obtaining a PCC, medical, etc.)

Hi yes I scheduled the interview in Jan, we did not get the packet 3/4 yet though. Also curious about your status, did you have an interview already? I don't see it on the timeline. Thanks.
