Coming in on flights from South America ,  there should be a CBP associate who speaks Portuguese and Spanish

but airport also posts this on a webpage for Miami airport

If you need language assistance, please visit one of the information counters located throughout the terminal.

    Thank you so much!

I think the OP is asking if there is a minimum amount of money required to enter.  The answer is no.  Sometimes CBP may ask tourists how they are going to finance their trip if they state they want to visit for several months.  Or personal finances can be asked during the B1/B2 interview.  But there is no requirement to carry an actual minimum dollar amount.

The only time I read about someone denied entry by CBP for a K1 was when the person was asked they were going to marry and the person responded "maybe we will, maybe we won't".

    Wow😳

No.  IMO, $200 is a perfect amount for a new immigrant to bring.  It is enough to cover long layovers or delayed flights.  I would never carry anywhere close to $10,000 in cash on me through an airport.  Electronic funds transfer is much more reasonable for bringing large amounts of money, imho.

    Just my opinion.

    Thank you!

As long as it’s $10,000 or less, it is fine, nothing is needed. If above $10,000 it is also fine, but additional paperwork (declaration) is needed. Failure to declare above $10,000 is both risky and dumb, it’s not like they are going to tax you on it!

No I understand that. I read that they asked if the person arriving has cash or credit cards even if it's not over 10,000 when they go to customs. I'm not sure if this is just for visitors or if it's for K1 applicants

Happy to hear!!!! Great news!!!! Can't wait for our case to be "Issued"

Our category is IR1. Our I-130 took 1 year to be approved. We are already at the NVC for 5.5 months. We'll probably be DQ in a month.

How long after DQ at the NVC did you get your interview scheduled?

And when was your interview date? Were you able to get your medical exams before the interview?

Thank you for all your updates!!! I feel relieved to hear from other people that are going through the same experience (it is really hard). Staying away from the person you love for such a long time is not easy at all. Counting down the days.

    Wish you all the best!!!

The interview was 3 weeks after getting the email.   We were able to get everything scheduled beforehand.  Interview was the 8th of February and received notice today to scheduke a date to pick up the visa.

    Hello,

    I'm going through the same.

My status has changed to issued on February 9. Up to now I have got no email.

My case is also in Rio.

Let's hope it won't take too long.

    Best regards,

    Melissa

I had a reply on my post that said up to 10 days.  We're about half way through?  Wasn't a year of waiting long enough? LOL.  No complaints here... My baby is Aprovado!   Yahoo!!! (happy dance)

    All the Best

Mine says issued but says going through administrative processing. I think it may mean it’s under the process of being printed…. I’m not 100 percent. I’m curious too why mine says issued but then says that underneath and if approved will be mailed. Like if it’s issued, isn’t it approved?

Yes.  Its strange.  My fiance was congratulated and told 3 weeks or kess fir it to be ready to be picked uo.  But on ceac is says Administrative Processing in big blue letters.  Not the word "Issued". I hope its a glitch

    U did ask

u said your "MRV fee  on the attachment,  the fee is the same.  Is that what I paid?"   and i said yes,  it was the MRV per the embassy site

Basically embassies are not wanting to take in actual monies and be responsible for cash/ plus Money is known to be "dirty with bacteria and such"  and no one wants to expose themselves these days

Ok thank you.  I didn't see the words MRV on the sheet i attached.  Just wabted to verify.  I apologize if i misunderstood your previous response.  Thank you for your help.

  9. Hi all. I believe i oaid the MRV Fee for Brazil (Click on attachmen,  you'll see at the bottom where i bkacked out dome info that the amount is in Brazil Reais which equalls the fee for MRV). Although it is not listed as MRV fee  on the attachment,  the fee is the same.  Is that what I paid?

I read that the MRV fee is to be paid at the cashier at the consulate or paid online.  I am confused now.  Thanks for the help in advance.
