Yes, you're allowed to travel. Just don't have any trips over 6 months and try to spend as much time in the US you can.

To use I-864EZ, you need to:

1. Be the one who petitioned your mom (I-130), AND
2. Your mom is the only immigrant you are sponsoring, AND
3. You have enough income/pension to meet the minimum (cannot use savings or assets).

You need to meet all 3 requirements. Otherwise, you need to file the I-864.

that is the date you can make an inquiry only not the actual processing times
but you can ask, doesn't hurt
don't expect Nebraska to be fast in this process or to answer the inquiry
my spouse petition was there 10 months (long before covid ) and then transferred out for faster processing (another 6 months)
