it wouldn’t take my edit so here it is.

EDIT: she may need something to show the officer that her job/wages will continue with the same company after you leave the UK. They are pretty chill in London so may just take your word for it.

OK great, thanks so much. That was our plan originally, so we'll upload her most recent W2 and keep our fingers crossed for the interview.

I’ve seen at least 10 who got to the interview and were told they had no W2 in their file, even though it had already been uploaded at the NVC stage. Even those who brought a hard copy were rejected and told they had to upload it. Not sure why the embassy couldn’t be arsed to scan and add to the file when people had a hard copy with them.

So it sounds like it’s become an obvious problem in London and somebody is reviewing files prior to interview and emailing those who need a W2. That’s a positive step.

But what’s with only W2s not showing in all these files? Still a mystery to me.

OK, income question then as this W2 thing has got be wobbling a bit. My wife has been out of the country for 15 years. She has a job working for an american company earning well over the threshold, but only since October last year. We have submitted all her pay stubs for that period, but the W2 she has just been issued shows way under for obvious reasons. Should I be looking at having a co sponsor? We had her finances flagged when we submitted it, saying the following...

The petitioner does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview.

Anyone had a similar experience? Would they deny on the basis that she has only been making enough money for 6 months? Interview is April so I might have time to get a co sponsor if necessary!

I've just had the email - heart sunk. March 2nd now moved to April 7th. No reasons given. Must make mental note, don't get excited about April 7th until April 7th.

My feelings exactly. I just emailed to ask for some clarity, reason, or a change of appointment, and I was just told reduced staff means there are no slots and just to attend on the 7th. Nothing else. So my family will have to travel ahead of me now as I spend that time away from wife and child. Gutting. Did the rest of March interviews survive so far?

    I just had my interview

I was approved subject to resubmitting a document, that she asked to be translated then when I left I saw it already was translated and she missed it. So annoyed as now I have to go through a whole courier document palaver when the document was there in front of her face. They wouldn’t let me back in the embassy to explain.
but yes the embassy is super quiet literally one booth registering one booth interviewing and appointments I think are only in the mornings

was DQ Oct 2 and got my interview letter on Dec 15 if it helps

Thanks for sharing. The good news is that a lot of us are right behind you with the DQ date, not so great that there are so few interviews happening, but at least they are moving. Congrats on passing that hurdle at least. What a relief!

  5. Has anyone who currently has an appointment tried logging into the rescheduling site to see when or even if there are any slots showing up? This might help give an indication of what is going on. The appointments now being made for early March are pretty worrying. It would indicate that there are no new interviews being scheduled for Feb? So the next batch would be released next month for March/April. Which has added an extra month onto the wait time. I DQ's Oct 16th, would love to be out of here by end of March. Yikes.

    Hello,

they used ESTA. However, there’s a whole new process. A lot of people had theirs cancelled, specially if you check in online. There’s a dedicated officer at heathrow that goes through all your documents (proof of citizenship of your US spouse, marriage certificate, the more docs you carry the better). For my son, they asked for his birth certificate. Airlines will tell you the same over the phone; even if you have a valid esta, you’ll still go through the same process at the airport.
They both come often, it’s never been an issue.

Wow, I had no idea. So they had started their application for green card outside the us? I had assumed that it would be an issue at the US side rather than uk, so I'll definitely take a look.

    Hello,

my wife and son are currently visiting me in the US, they’re due to be back in UK by the end of the month. DQ 11/05/2020.
In light of the recent announcement, and the covid situation,  I was wondering if there’s a way to extend their visit beyond 90 days. I guess an interview in the US is unheard of, Correct?
from the current timeline, it seems like we’re expecting an interview somewhere late March.

Hi, can I ask how they got into the states while the visa was pending? Did they have any issues or need to apply for anything, or just fly in an breeze past immigration? Might need to try to get.in myself but have an application pending. NQ Oct 16th.

  8. Hi! This forum is an absolute GOD SEND! I'm stuck in Scotland, luckily with my family, but waiting for my interview.

DQ was mid Oct so will be well into the new year, but I'm concerned about vaxinations. I've lived out of the uk for 6 years and any vax book I would have had is in shipping. Has anyone here had to just have all the jabs fresh so they had the evidence? Looks like a few places are closed for jabs due to covid. But not seen much mentioned here, so was this straightforward for everyone? Hope you all get a few more interviews for you in January and the good news keeps coming. It is such a relief to find this forum, its felt very lonely up till now but all these stories, man, we have all had such a crazy year!!
