  1. I travelled alone too last Feb22.. my POE was LA and when i get in front of the immigration line.. i asked an officer which line is fine K1 visa, she told me the options which immigration officer to line up with coz their too many and I wanted to get a shorter line. Asked question to an officer maintaining the line up, that will save you time not lining up on a wrong immigration officer. (There are lines for US citizen only and for those immigrants!)

When you get to the line, be ready for your passport, the do not open packet (the brown envelope) and don't forget to fill up the blue paper (forgot what its called! hehe for the declaration of plants etc.. sorry) and the long white paper which is for the I-94... its been given out before the plane lands!

Hand it over to the officer and of course say hello and smile! hehe

The good thing about my experience at the officer... he didn't ask me anything.. he just opened the envelope and checked it, wrote something.. then prepare my I-94 and staple it to my passport then asked me for my finger print.. and that's it!! I'm Done! Picked up my luggage and Welcome to USA!

  2. We called the embassy number and spoke to the lady there. She also gives you your medical date (Which you can be early for!).

Be sure to pay DelBros fee before interview, to save time there. there is a Metrobank near Philippine Immagration building (north of Rizal park) to get it.

And, when in Ermitta for the clinic, go to the PCIBank next to Cherry Blossoms hotel, and Robinson's mall and pay for the US Customs form required (save a lot of travel)

  3. I would just like to make a survey when you got your visas after the interview was done?

If it took you long to get it, how many days, what were the reasons and problems encountered? My interview is March 3 and i would just like to know what's my chance of receiving it before march 18. I plan to request for a visa pick up. Thank you. Any response please?

We had our interview on 2-4-08. Delbros delivered visa to us at hotel near embassy on 2-8-08.

Interview date: feb7, visa delivered feb12 in Bulacan.

  5. Hi... I went to Target today to buy a notebook or a binder to put the evidence in there. I couldn't really find anything that is flexible enough. I ended up getting a 1/2 inch three ring binder.. Is this okay? I read somewhere that it has be small enough so it can go through the window when we get to the embassy.. Or does anyone have any idea where I should buy one? I tried going to Office Depot didn't find anything... Please let me know

    Thank you everyone.

Mayeth went to WalterMArt. We had a report cover (no Binder/rings). That keeps them together and dry. She bought little paper clasps. She punched holes in the paper, then put the clasps through, and opened the clasp to keep it in place. The paper bends in the middle length-ways and in half...>VERY flexable!!!!!!!!!

  6. My fiance's name is Justin... When I filed for the K129F I put Justin. I noticed on the NSO (BC) it says Justine with an "E". What should we do? Do we have to go by the Birth Certificate? and the CFO certificate that he got he put Justin with no E.

And on his passport it says Justin... Are we going to have a problem ? Please help...

My fiance' name at birth was Marieta, but for many many years she went by Marietta. She got Police clearances under both names, had a new birth certificate printed and had affidavits from people who knew her her whole life and attested to a police agency that Marieta and Marietta were the same person, and that several documents had 2 T's. The Passport was the real key though, it had 1 T as well. Bottom line, whatever the passport and birth certificate have are what you need. He may have to have paperwork produced if other official documents have the "E" on the end. If it is only in your application, then you have to submit a change. Perhaps consult an immagration lawyer for the proper way to do so. My lawyer here only had a consultation fee, but it was worth getting the paperwork through without RFE.

An RFE is a delay from the service center, and does not mean the process will end outright, just be delayed a week or two longer. I'd suggest gettting the affidavit I mentioned and have it handy to add to your paper application here, and his interview there.

  7. thank god we got approved today. hoping for fast release of visa as we are going to pick up the visa at the embassy. good luck to everyone

    Hi,

My name is Brian, Congratulaions to you both !!! Pam and I our interview the same morning as you did and recognize your picture... We also got approved and asked to pick up our visa. They said they would call us and we have not heard from them yet and it is Monday noon...I was wondering if you have heard from them and if we should be calling them...

    Again Congrats !!

    Brian and Pam

no we havent heard from the embassy yet either hopefully tommarow good luck

hi guys, I was approved for visa pick-up last feb 6 and the embassy still has not called me yet to pick up my visa.... :crying:

Delbros Pro active text message service sent an sms to me this afternoon (around 5pm) saying:

"Delbros Delivers! Delivery for MNL2007839*** starts tom up to d next 2days! You must leave a valid ID & signed authorization letter or a 1WK Delay will ensue"

They're going to deliver it in Bulacan so i expect that it will be here 3days from now (but the earlier the better hehe).

I was approved last feb 7. I actually didn't asked for visa pick up! ;)

    I'm getting excited! :luv:

  8. For parents, its is easier to get a tourist visa... coz one thing they consider is age! Plus the fact that you will be supported by your in laws while you're visiting.

Like other visa application, it takes only few questions til they decide grant it or not!

But still you need the necessary papers... hehehe

Good luck and congrats on your wedding!!!

    :dance::dance::dance:

  9. You can get the police clearance at the local police department in her area within the day. I paid 200 pesos for it (expedited fee). Also, bring a passport size picture, at least 2 copies. Better have all the documents you can get before the interview :)

police clearance from local police dept. is not necessary anymore (NBI matters most) but the one's from other countries which the applicant had stayed for over 6 months.

lirachadsbaby is right..... no need for police clearance if you don't live in other countries for more than 6 months. NBI clearance is enough!

    Mayeth

  10. On February 12, we will be departing to the US. What should we expect once we get to our POE in Detroit and what documents will they ask for?

Also, her parents and her brother will apply for a tourist visa after we leave and we know that they have a pretty good chance of getting it since their only reason to go is to witness their ONLY daughter's wedding. Besides the wedding invitation and a copy of Faith's visa, what else should we provide them for their interview? Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    Kits & Faith

They have to provide a lot of documentations and proves that they are coming back and are not going to stay with your fiance there in US. A good way for them to prove they are coming back is showing the following at the interview.

Bank letter with the a good amount of money in it. Better if it is an old account, not a new one because they are going to know it was open with the purpose of going to the Consulate.

Land or house titles if they have some property in their country

    Car titles if they have

    Employment Letter

Birth Certificate showing that they are the parents of her

    Her documents that you mentioned.

The fact that she is going to get married doesn´t mean an approval for getting a visa.

    Good luck

    good suggestions.

YMR is right.... bring all the documents mentioned .. you can also add iteneraries (not plane ticket) as additional proof of what they will do in the US everyday and the date when they plan to go back in the PI.

For tourist visa, specially for those who haven't been in the US, applying for it is very hard. The CO is a bit strict on issuing B2 visa (tourist)... that is why you need a lot of proof, grounds, that you will go back. They want to know that you have a good ties in the Philippines as reason to go back.

And guess what, the CO in the counters for other types of visa are stricter compared to the CO in the immigrant section!

That's based on my observation and experienced!! hehe

    Mayeth

  11. Not a hard requirement, but yes. They are most concerned with current income.

Better to be safe than sorry.

I asked the consulate what I needed and they told me I could bring just my lastest W2 and tax returns. However, I decided to bring three just in case - wasn't worth the risk.

They only took the latest W2 and tax returns from me during the interview! Though i have the other 2 years.. they only cared about the latest.

  13. Welcome to VJ!!! Complete process takes up to 6 months, NOA1 took about 2 weeks in my case, but sometimes seems to take longer. I would advise you to call USCIS if you do not have receipt or if cheque not cashed after 3 weeks

    (F)

thanks...i hope not ours was not take too long....although i have to spend much more time to my family here..and need to keep and patienly waiting ....but sometimes its hard that i miss my other half....we are january filers ..hope it goes well and smooth  ..Pray is the best...

There are timelines you can look at based on your filing center. they are a good gauge. A lot of folks (like my Mayeth) added the timeline as part of our signature.

  14. Listen to this nice piece of noose I got from doing my weekley call to the USE.. They now need a P 650 fee paid at the metro bank ASAP After paing that fee they need me to send a text to Delbro International showing I made the deposit.

This is the info she gave me:

Go to any Metro Bank and deposit php 650

    Account # 7-151-51420-7

Account name : Delbros International Logistics INC

Get two deposit slipps one for the bank and one to keep

after that is done you will need to send a text message in all capital letters to:

    TN # 0917-5555-313

    USE-MNL case number - first, last, middle name-(branch name)-(dat of deposit)-(time of deposit)-PHP650

Example of date 7 dec 07 day month year

She said people that already have interview dates don't need to do this and she was told to start giving this info out yesterday.

We must have lucked out then. We had a letter attached to the NVC that told us to do that, and we found a Metrobank near the Embassy that knew all about that. As well, while we were in town for the medical, we went to the PCI near Robinson's mall (4 blocks from Clinic next to Cherry Blossom's) and got the 157 form and paid for it. These locations are easy to get to if you are down near the medical clinic in Manila.

  15. Mayeth's interview is scheduled Feb 7, and I finalized the ticket just the other day. We went through part 1 of the process with no RFEs', no problems in the medical. We took the risk, but I can afford to pay the airline penalty for switching dates if it came to that. She has been to the states twice and is confident for her interview. We have all our papers together, and it would take something way way way out of our control for her not to pass.

We scheduled her for two weeks after the interview to give her time to wrap everything up, and be with her family. Flights out of the Philippines are not cheap, but I lucked out at $710USD, I couldn't afford to not get it then.

I think caution is warrneted by each couple, but each also needs to weigh their situation. My gal lives within an hour of the airport and the Embassy, so that relieves a lot of hassle.

Good luck and god bless all.

  16. Philippine Airlines told me I needed that, and the website for Cathay PAcific did as well.

There point of view is a lot of fruad with "webcam" performers getting such information from guys. My credit card, says ask for ID or call for verification if not present.

I made a copy of my ID and Credit card (front and back), and e-mailed it to her to have. As well, I printed that page out, took it to a notary and signed it saying the ticket was purchased for her use, etc. I then mailed it pormptly.

By the way, her ticket (Philippine Airlines, Manila to LAX.....$710!!!!). Then it was a cheap $160 ticket to Dulles.......in total 1/2 of what I paid just a month ago!!

  17. Is this right? On the Interview Packet I received yesterday.. Upon reading it.. I don't see no Medical Date..

    Just the Interview date..

Does that mean she can go to her Medical whenever she wants?

Also can she use my copy for her Medical? I can fax/email this Packet to her?

We got the packet 4 while I was there. mayeth called the Embassy number and spoke to the lady. She said as long as Mayeth had the appointment letter (Take a copy...BTW!) she could jsut go. We went that week...4 weeks early. It took 2 days even though we went at 1PM, we had to come back at 1PM the next day for the immunization. If traveling, there are several hotels there in the area that are reasonable by US dollars. Also, take 3 Passport photos, and she will need a bag to carry everything in when she is done (x-rays mostly take up room). There are photo takers nearby and people who sell x-ray sized bags right out the door of the medical lab. The BPI bank needed to get the 157 form is 4 blocks away as well, next to Robinson's and Cherry Blossom's hotel
