There was also the Cherry Blossoms, between the two places, and next to Robinson's mall Ermita - a friend stayed there and siad it was great.

Mayeth stayed at Las Palmas on the other side of the mall by the medical school. it is two blocks from the train, but a short jeepney ride to the Embassy.

  4. Hello VJ

*My married name is hyphenated, but on my 3 NOA (I-485, I-131-....), They just put my maiden name before my married name coma my first name.

It's true that we call USCIS, they said that they didn't put the hyphen, and they received call for that, according the woman, it's normal.

But I would like to know if for some people, they received their NOA without the hyphen.

I don't really want that on my green card, they put the 2 names without hyphen

    * Concerning the NOA, is it possible to track my status on the net?

Where is it possible to check - i know it is on the ''uscis.gov'' but where?

    Thank you

It happened to me too and they said its acceptable! So don't worry! I got my EAD Card and AP without hypen.

I also called USICS when I received all 3 NOAs!

    * Concerning the NOA, is it possible to track my status on the net? -- Yes register at USCIS website

Where is it possible to check - i know it is on the ''uscis.gov'' but where? - https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp then click on case status search...

You might also want to have automatic email notfication, register and add your case number in your portfolio and click on email ON. They will keep you updated.

  6. Another year? The forms could change drastically in one year. Anyway current USCIS status is K1 visa holder.

    Thank You...

Before I saw someone had answered you, I was going to suggest searching the forums. Many folks post their forms after they file, so others can copy upon thier successes - worked for us.

I dont want to contradict someone else, but I would assume you are a K1 Visa Applicant. If you were a Visa holder, she would be on her way here. You said you were new, so I assumed you are starting out. If you just filed, and have not gotten things back from NCIS, you may not have any status yet....

Be patient regarding the annullment in the Philippines. My asawa says there is no official divorce there. The church there is not quick to respond reagrding annullments. The key is the government paper that says she is free to marry - that process can be lengthy. I hope there is a government office near her so she does not ahve to travel back and forth extensively for things.

Other than that, she can write my gal for advice, but search forums for couples that filed a little ahead of you. They are going through things just ahead of you, and give you the best tips on what is current.

  7. Wow!! I wasn't even thinking about including mine. I was asking about including my wife's birth certificate. Well unfortunately I couldn't even attach mine if I wanted to because I have to look for it and most likely have to go and ask for a copy from somewhere or other. So I guess I will take a gamble.

I guess I should include the birth certificate of my wife? Right?

Yes, as far as I understand, you have to include your wife's foreign BC. It is described in I485 instruction Page 3 Item 2. Birth certificate.

    Good luck!

    K :luv:

In short only the beneficiary NOT the petitioner's BC!

  8. I was just wondering why the checklist says that a birth certificate of the petitioner should be included in the adjustment of status packet? Why? I have gone through the instructions of every single form (I-485, I-131, G-325A, etc.), but none seem to have a requirement to attach a copy of a birth certificate.

    Any ideas?

We didn't sent BC of my USC husband..... just a copy of mine! It's not written in the instruction in the I-485 so no need to send! But then it's your decision it will not hurt if you include it!

  9. K-1 IS considered work authorized for 90 days from entry, you check "Allowed to work" on the SSN forms.

The only way to get temp stamp is to ask for one when entering the USA at the POE, and the only POE that consistently gives the stamp is JFK.

NOTE: K-1 is not a work visa, it is a fiancee visa for entry to the USA and marriage, K-1 is "Work Auth" primarily to be able to get the SSN, some states are strict in their interpretation of a federal law that requires persons applying for a "license" to have SSN, this can cause a problem with marriage license if only one person has SSN and the other (the K-1 holder) does not.

    This is a frequent question.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=107334

    thank you so much

actually we got married before i apply for a SSN, (and the marriage license is on the desk now ;) ) so i hope that we will not have a problem.

now i can feel free and fill out the form

    thank you again

so now i can look for a job and work ? even while i am waiting for the Social security card ?

PS : the State is Kentucky

so now i can look for a job and work ? even while i am waiting for the Social security card ?

Wait for your SSN, file your AOS and you have to wait for your EAD before you can be allowed to work!!!

Even if you have your SSN you are still not allowed to work without the EAD! (Remember you don't have your greencard yet!)

You're not allowed to work without EAD!!!

  10. Hello Everybody

i just wanna figure out how to know if i got the 90 days Temporary Work Authorization STAMP on my passport, cause i found an item when i was filling out the form to apply for a SSN saying if i am allowed to work or not and i don't know what to do here

    thank you in advance

I advice that you put "Allowed to work" besides we are really allowed to work (but with condition that we have proper authorization).

Is JFK is your POE?? Because only JFK gives Temporary Work authorization and if you requested it!

My experience: When I applied for my SSN don't know what to put on that question too.. (I have no temporary work permit) so what we did is go to the SS office with that question not answered.. then when the girl process my application she put "Allowed to work".

But then the girl also adviced me (before we left the office) to go back as soon as I get my greencard so that they will replaced my SS card without the note!

After a week my SS card arrived in mail. My SS card has a note saying "Allowed to work with DHS authorization" (that means we will be allowed to work only with EAD, as long as our AOS is in process).

    Hope this help!

    Mayeth

  11. If I may ask, are you also going to include photos of marriage, and joint account information etc. as well when you send your packet? Or are these only needed for the interview when it is scheduled? We have everything assembled to send in a week (waiting for transcripts). Thanks and good to see you both again!

    Hi Beng,

Nice to see that you're ready to submit your application!! You have a good list! I think that's all they need!

I filed almost the same checklist its just that we don't have joint sponsor and I applied for AP! So far no RFE sent to us! (I hope none) I got my application transffered to CSC!

    Hi Davidand Jenny,

According to the AOS instruction (from USCIS pdf file) it didn't asked for wedding pictures! Maybe they only need it for the interview!

    Mayeth

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!!!! Waiting Game again!!
