Medical was sent to the consulate today! Interview was Jan 21.
Date was updated on CEAC, status is still refused. I'm assuming this just means my medical has been submitted to the consulate but the CO hasn't reviewed it.
Same exact situation as my wife's. The medical results were supposedly sent today but the status stands at refused. Looks like the wait continues and continues..

New update from MTL: https://ca.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/consular-operations-updates/
"As of December 1, 2021, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily qualified at the National Visa Center in October 2021. Most Family Preference and Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in October 2019"
So looks like they will send IL for IR/CR till Oct 21 for interview in January.
Long time lurker, limited poster. Had a quick question for the team but my wife's case was DQ'd on Aug 17th. Based on the above, it seems like Montreal skipped her case if they are working through IR-1 cases that were DQ'd in Oct'21? (apologies if I am misreading this)
How does the embassy reach out regarding setting up interview? Reason I ask is because we did have her address changed in-case they mail out for scheduling?

Finally received the approval notice today, more than 14 months after the submission date. Similar to others, the case was under active review followed by the approval. I hope everyone else have a shorter TAT.

Hi I am planning to fly to the states to visit my American spouse for a few weeks. We applied for the i130 a month ago. I wanted to ask if any Canadians were able to visit without any problems? I have a letter from my employer to prove ties to Canada. I am just a little nervous about getting turned back. Thank you 😊
My spouse is currently visiting from toronto using her b1/b2 visitor visa while we have a pending i-130. She was able to enter but expect a rigorous review process by the CBP officer.

I am so sorry man. This is so painful. I am not sure if other service centers are doing this but I am definitely starting to see a pattern with Potomac. If you don't mind me asking, a few more followup questions.
1. How did you immigrate to U.S. (did a prior spouse sponsor you)?
2. What is your country of origin/birth?
3. What is your wife's country of origin/birth?
You will soon get your approval. Hang in there!
1. Family sponsorship. Not spousal
2. Australia but by race I’m Pakistani so there is that
3. She was born in Saudi Arabia
Yea nothing to do but wait since it’s within the processing window. Thanks!

1. Is beneficiary natural born-Canadian?
2. Is beneficiary a minority or muslim?
I am sorry for asking these personal questions but I have started to observe a pattern where cases lagging in approval at Potomac are mostly naturalized U.S.C. If you an answer my follow up questions above I can share more of my observations. I wish you luck - your approval will come soon.
She is naturalized just like me and yes, Muslim.
I always expected the review process to take longer than usual because of the predisposing characteristics but a specific processing center showing prejudice is ridiculous. -

1. Beneficiary is Canadian

Hi I am permanent residence and about to submit I-130 for my spouse residing in India. Processing time for Texas service center is 1 week-7 months. I live in Maryland and my form needs to be mailed to Texas Service center. My friend who is US citizen and lives in MD, filed for his spouse I-130 online and it went to Potomac service center where the processing time is 12-16 months. I want my application to go to Texas instead of Potomac service center. Would mailing-in I-130 to Texas makes more sense or will it get assigned to Potomac regardless? I am fine loosing a few days by mailing-in the form instead of online submission if it gets processed at Texas service center. Thank you for your attention, appreciate your insights!
I am a USC and reside in MD also. I mailed my package to the Texas address and it still ended up at Potomac. There has been no movement on the case since NOA1 which was on Jan 7 2020.
So my advice; good luck and get ready for a (potentially) long ride- SMM_MD and darth vader

Well the processing time for Potomac (in addition to others) just increased. So filing an inquiry for a case being outside the processing window just became difficult.

Anyone still waiting for 130 approval from Potomac service center NOA January 2020?
Yes, NOA1 is dated Jan 7th and nothing after that. Called twice and they couldn't provide any meaningful updates. This particular center just needs to be shut down if they are unable to provide a reasonable level of service.

Anyone else still waiting? Visajourney is now saying that my case is outside of the normal processing time I'm at Potomac right now and the current receipt date is sometime in Oct 2019. I've already sent a inquiry and they replied saying they process in order the applications were received, which isn't true So many people who applied after me got approved a long time ago. I understand that maybe some cases are easier, but they shouldn't lie about why mine hasn't been touched. I would be more at ease if I knew exactly why it's taking longer. Is there anything else I can do now? The interview wait time at Montreal is already nearing a full year, I really need my i130 to be approved as soon as possible before it gets worse.
I am in the same situation, received NOA1 on Jan 7th and absolutely no update after that. My wife is also canadian beneficiary so looks like we have more than a year ahead before this whole trivial ordeal is over.

Just thought I would share my wife's experience especially since everyone seems to be in this pending medical situation. She had her interview on Jan 21 without medical. Everything went well but the case was assigned a refused status on CEAC. Two days later, the medical results were sent over and the case was moved over to AP on Jan 27. On Jan 31, it was then updated to final processing and yesterday, we received an email with the shipment notice.
Hope this helps! (still need to update the overall timeline lol).
