Hello, Has anybody here experienced interview for ROC (removal of conditions)? My case went to Ready to be Scheduled for interview last Saturday after almost a year of waiting. But still waiting for the letter in the mail to make it official though. What are the questions typically asked? Should hubby be present too at the interview? Thanks is advance.

Hi yes, I went to the process way back 2016, in my case, the IO was super nice and cool. It was like we interviewed him, hahahah

Also I believed that the IO only want to see if I am  still married with my spouse. It was like casual questions and ensuring if the marriage is legit. I think prior to the interview (maybe an hour or so before he called us to be interviewed),

,he went through the docs we submitted and he Kinda asked about our vacation with my father in law and I believe the IO want to see if I was really living with my spouse because he asked about the place near our area.

Just be calmed and be yourself, I know it is nerved wracking but it is easy.

Yes your spouse needs to be there because he is your petitioner.

  2. hi All, just want to update and thank you for your help.

My Son's visa is issued today, 11/05. US embassy Manila received his docs that were required on the 3rd of November.

Praise God that they issued his visa.

God bless to everyone and if I can be of help to anyone who experienced the same, I am very much happy to help, just message.

Thank you. She is currently what I call a prison. Upon entering her province 4 days ago she goes into 14 day quarantine in a stinky little tent in a basketball court with 43 other tents, all with people in them with filthy toilets. And unlike a prison where inmates get to go outside sometimes, they are held in that basketball court and can never leave that room for 14 days. And on top of that,  it is the 4th day and they still haven't given her any test rapid or swab. What's the point if they don't test anybody when they arrive? It is the worst experience of her life.

wow that sucks :( can't she ask anyone to maybe help her to do the swab test asap? if that is case, they would all like to get sick and the immune system be weakened right? Oh Lord :(

Hello does anyone knows the timeline for 221g after the submission of documents? My daughter just finished the interview, unfortunately they are asking for the US marriage certificate. Now I need to reschedule all my itinerary. I hope this will not take months.

hi, my son got 221g as well, us embassy is asking for the original or certified true copy of my US marriage certificate.

Just want to ask, did your daughter finally get the visa?

Well, she sent the funeral records AGAIN and death certificate AGAIN on Oct. 21 and now she gets AN EMAIL FROM THE EMBASSY THAT THEY NEED....

    1. Medical records from the  District hospital

    2. Tombstone photos

    3. Burial and internment photos

    4. Funeral records AGAIN

    5. Church records.

This is what gets us>>>>>they could have asked FOR ALL OF THESE ON Oct 18th.  They could have asked for all of these 14 months ago. It just never ends.

We are concerned they will just keep asking for more instead of asking  for what they need all at one time.   She is going back to Isabela after 33 days in a hotel to scrounge up what she can.

She does not believe they(family) has photos of laying him in the ground at the cemetery.  I just   can't really believe this is happening.

Her husband has been dead for 6 years this December. I've never been so disappointed in my government. This is the only time I've asked my government to actually step up. They could have asked for all these documents 14 months ago.

But they wait until the interview and then they have to have her get them all again and then some.

I'm sure it's because of fraudulent activity by people saying their spouse was dead when they weren't to avoid those outrageous annulment charges from attorneys.

So I understand why they go there. What I don't understand is why don't they ask for what they want in all 1 sitting. Instead of us waiting months for their response and then they come back with another request.

I am so sorry to hear that :( . I  know its is hard and tough now.

I myself has 221g issue with my son, it  is quite different though and I am already sad about it, now knowing what you and your wife is dealing with is totally unfair. Pls hang in there and stay strong.

Hello wonderful visa journey crew!  Does anyone know if Sworn affidavits verifying a marriage are mandatory for I-751 removal of conditions!  And if so, did you all go to a Notary or just send in formal letters/statements from friends?  We are sending ours in next week!  Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks so much!

    Kara and Jackson

I did mine, I took sworn affidavits of at least 5 people that knew me and my husband (my cousin, my sister in law, my co-workers, and our friends). Have it notarized to make the it more legit. More documentation,  more chances of getting the removal easily.

Get the certified true copy and use DHL or fedex to send it to him.  It also looks like it should be uploaded into CEAC.  It is sounding like they will issue it with the short time remaining on it.

Hi, @Paul & Mary I believe so, would you know where should I upload the marriage certificate ? Is it on his docs or mines? I just want to make sure that I will upload it right

  8. Dear All, you guys are amazing and thanks for the support. I did send the certified copy of my marriage certificate via Fedex.

Thank you for sending me infos that haven't crossed in my mind at all. Thank you for sending me those links that are very informative.

@SusieQQQ I am planning to fly him here asap as soon as he gets his visa and done with the other requirements in the Philippines.

  9. Hi @Paul & Mary per the letter given to my son by us embassy, he should send his passport together with the original marriage certificate or certified true copy of my US marriage certificate.
Thank you so much for your help,it means a lot. I kinda cried and feel so sad because I havent  seen my son physically for more than 4 yrs( the last time I saw him was 2016),I got very ill in 2018 and 2019 that’s why I didn’t go back to Philippines.I was planning to go back this year but covid19 hit so I couldn’t go back again 😞

  10. Hi All, thank you for the support it means a lot to me. I am beyond grateful to all of you. My son went to US Embassy today for his interview and I was worried about his passport, they didn't ask about the passport expiration but the Interviewer at the final Window (he went to 3 windows, I think window one was to checked in, window 2 -screened his docs and all were good, then the last window the actual interview. My son was asked for Original docs like his birth certificate,DS-260,his NBI clearance and my marriage cerificate ( I got my US citizenship through marriage). HE got everything original except for one thing, my Original Marriage certificate :(

Because of that he didn't get approve but refused and asked his to send my original's marriage certificate :( :(

I attached herewith the letter from the embassy so at least if someone or anyone came across with the same scenario this would help them.

Also I would like to ask for help in regards to the 2GO drop off branch and where to find them :(

Again thank you all so much for your support.

I am really tired and stress with these whole immigration process.

  11. If he has an IR-2 immigrant visa interview on October 23, 2020, then what kind of visa is expiring on January 7, 2021?---Hi sorry about that, his passport will be expired in January 2021. But they actually applied for renewal already at DFA Manila last 12th of October and requested to expedite but unfortunately there is action yet from DFA in regards to that request.

    I

  12. Dear All,

Hi I am new here, I am kinda desperate to have an answer for my minor child, he has an IR-2 immigrant visa interview this coming Friday, October 23,2020 at the US embassy Manila.

However, his visa will expire in January 7, 2021. My mom did renew my son's passport on the 12th of October 2020 and requested to expedite, but to date, January 20, they have yet to receive any email from DFA Aseana that his renewed passport is ready. I don't know what to do.

Has anyone here experience this? Pls I need some advise. Would this be a reason for my minor child (he is 16 yrs old) to not be given a us immigrant visa?
