    All,

I am a new user to this forum. I didn't see any entries in the old tracker for 2021. So i have created a new Google spreadsheet based tracker here for us.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1itagrwXu39t_Gsvi3bXeobhEm74hg2ur1w2CfmD0bm0/edit?usp=sharing

Please go ahead and put your entries. It's your own tracker, so feel free to make any edits to format etc.

Thanks to all who updated their data in this passport  tracker. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1itagrwXu39t_Gsvi3bXeobhEm74hg2ur1w2CfmD0bm0/edit?usp=sharing

Someone meaningfully updated the format also, thank you for that.

I have sorted the tracker based on application date to easily look at the current speed of approvals.

@nikgon Did you mean to say 4/1 as the interview date?

How did USCIS inform you that your interview was rescheduled? Can you take that proof with you?

Were you able to speak to a Tier 2 officer when you called?

I Agree with @AlienLife (Nice username btw).

@nikgon you need to ask that agent to transfer your call. Basically you can't take the risk of not having letter. The security guard might turn you back, who knows.

Ok, an update. Just called the number on the notice. Was unusually easy to get through to a real human being. It looks like it got rescheduled, actually, to an earlier date. Still don't see that information updated on the web site, but I want to trust what the agent said.

@nikgonyou can trust what the agent told you. In my case, i never saw the the new rescheduled interview letter in my online account. I think in case of reschedules, they just forget to upload to account. But i did get it in the mail in a week or so. So keep checking your mailbox everyday.

also, if u dont receive the letter in a week or so, call them again and tell them you haven't received the letter, and need to know when the interview is, so u can take off from work etc. They will tell u the time and date. But in any case, u do need to have the physical letter with you on the day of interview.

But that's the same link on which, according to Shivoham, the forms are obsolete. The form itself says "EXPIRATION DATE: 3-31-2021" (whatever that means), so I'm curious what happened there where the OP claimed somehow they got an obsolete form.

You can use this form. However make sure you "do not" print on both sides of paper. Print on one side only. The passport guy refused my form because of that reason.

    Thank you!

Probably out of the topic now, but I wonder if I can schedule an appointment an any USPS office for passport? I'll give a shot at Bellevue of course, but if it doesn't work, can I just apply in Yakima for example? Seems like they have tons of time slots and I don't mind driving lol

I did a 4 week course recently on finding which  Passport offices have availability. LOL.

anyway, as JFH said everything in grays harbor county is open. If you are in King county, the nearest ones you should check are allyn, siverdale etc which are also in the olympic peninsula area.

Also, do check by date (instead of location) and zip code too. Sometimes, you will find an appointment easily the same day or next in your own area because people do cancel their appointment.. For instance, i wanted to go on 15th, and i had found 4 options to choose from, Mercer island, everett, seattle and allyn on 15th itself, even though when i had been checking since last 4 weeks, there was no availability at these.

    Conclusion

It feels great to be done with USCIS so that's awesome. I don't know about any of you here but I have been in the US for 20 years and to finally get the thing I have been chasing for such a long time has me feeling a bit odd. It's like you anticipate a thing for so long and then you get it and afterwards, you're not quite sure what to do with yourself. I think that's where I am mentally at the moment. I am thrilled and happy but there's still that *thing* in my mind. Finally, if someone is driving you to the USCIS building, I recommend not paying to park there. If you go down on Marginal way for like 5 minutes, there's a Starbucks with lots of open and free parking that the person who drove you can just go hang out and wait for you until you're done. For the remainder of you about to go through the process, I wish you the best. I am rooting for all of you. Cheers!

Congratulations. It was fun reading about the feelings part. It was overwhelming before i entered that building, and after coming out, i had the strange feeling too. In some ways, i felt a different connection with US, the kind i never felt before.

And off course, 3 cheers for the Bellevue Passport office guy. he rocks.

  8. Update: I had my rescheduled interview today. It took me just about an hour in the building. I passed, and was given the oath and the certificate then and there. My officer was strict but made sure that i got the oath and certificate today despite some challenges. Thank you to everyone on this forum for their support and sharing their learnings.  I am sharing some things I learnt that are relevant for this group.

Know your dates, esp your travel dates since application. In my case, i had written the in and out dates on a piece of paper, and handed it over to the officer. She happily took it to enter them in system. If you were out of US for a relatively long time, make sure you are ready to explain.

They want to make sure you are who you say you are. So they ask details: What date you got green card?; Have a child, know their birthday;  Had a divorce, bring your decree; pay child support, bring your proof of payments etc. Review your N-400

On the confusion of whether oath is given same day or not: Know that the USCIS seattle tries to give it to you the same day (more often than not, they do). However, at times, they can't. Not sure of exact reasons, but it doesn't look like it is random. it's only not given when they truly can't do it (because of some system limitations I guess)

Tip on Passport: Make sure you fill out the passport application form in "Black Ink" not blue , and don't use the form from the website (Coz it's not an updated form). Instead, use the form that the USCIS gives you as part of naturalization packet OR pick up the form from a post office. Someone  had shared about the Bellevue passport officer being a helpful guy. I just walked in this morning, and he happily took my passport application (no appointment). I had my paper work all ready for him to make it quick.

Plug: I plan to move to India after getting my passport, India visa etc, in near future. So if there are any other people in the same boat, we can make a support group to help each other. Please reach out in a private message. Thanks.

Finally changed to "We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time.". What was your experience? 3 or 4 month after this?

these status messages don't matter at all. My interview is on mar 15, yet the estimated completion date shown to me is in 2022. Go by what we have in our great tracker.

uuggghhh!    I was supposed to have interview today, but it didn't happen. I went there and they said the will reschedule my interview (hopefully within a month) because i had an international travel within last 14 days. I showed them my covid negative report post travel but that didn't help.

People, here is an update and a question:

I got a notification on March 3rd that they rescheduled my interview, but the interview letter wasn't uploaded yet( strange) to online account, so i called up USCIS today and the office told me that my interview has been scheduled for Mar 15 at 06:30 hours (meaning 6.30 am in the morning). Anyone else got it so early? I am wondering if that's normal OR if it's a scheduling mistake.

It's been many months since I had my biometrics done and I am trying to remember if you have to pay for the parking at USCIS in Tukwila. I seem to recall that I had to pay when I went for biometrics. Anyone know if that's the case? And do they take cards? I never carry cash and the closest ATM that doesn't charge me a fee is 75 miles away in Olympia.

I had to pay $8. I used Card.

According to Department of the States, you can apply for your first time passport at embassy and consulate which its procedure depends on the specific embassy but mostly have to provide them the required document like inside the US and make an appointment with them. I'm planning to go through this option after my oath ceremony, as no expedited process (3 business days) is available and have to travel to my birth country.

What is your birth country? Make sure it's legal in that country to use its passport in traveling while being a citizen  of another country.

I think @Shivoham had an interview today. It will be interesting to hear what the oath situation was today.

Hi friends, had my interview on 2/10 and got my certificate. Filed on 8/23/2019.

Tips: 1. Civic test is Q&A, not multi selection. I didn’t realize it until the night before interview. 2. If you need to have passport really soon, filled in the form and bring the check with you to the post office a little bit before 1pm. The office open at 1. You are able to meet the staff and check with his/her capacity. I told him I got the paper in the morning and excited, all the papers were ready. He was happy for me and squeezed me in his line. It took him 10 minutes to get my application done.

    helpful information. Thanks for sharing.

Update: Being a Sep 10 2019 filer, i had been checking my status everyday online. Yesterday (Feb 2), my status online changed to 'Interview was scheduled'. Like others, i hope to receive the interview date in a day or two. Funny thing is that the online status also shows 6 months wait time (meaning it has no relevance at all).

Based on our tracker, the USCIS has got quite predictable, so much that i had anticipated my status change to be on Feb 2, and that's when it happened. Now, i expect my interview to fall on march 1st or 2nd. let's see :)

Just saw the interview letter posted on my account. the Interview date is March 02, as I had expected :)
