Remedy turns out to be a warshcloth soaked in hot salt water, sea man.
Remedy very effectively got bed wet under heating-pad, sigh man.
I groaned for ice; Mrs. T-B. retrieved Many icepacks, freeze man.
Applied ice; abandoned after half a minute; returned to heating-pad; abandoned it, sigh man.
Stagger-limped out of bed again; ingested a Tylenol Many pill, drug man.
Somehow fell asleep for another one & one-quarter hours, miracle man.
Awoke semi-on time despite not having set alarm clock, no man.
Stagger-limped like a baastard, emergently gulped 2 steroid pills, stagger-limped downstairs, ouch man.
Pills had some effect but not as much as usual, si and no man.
Made it unhappily to work, grouch man.
Called vaunted Spine Center; left message with nurse, black hole man.
Piddled with project, distracted by pain, ouch man.
Finally popped a daytime Vicodin, ingest man.
Fell asleep at desk for a full hour, zzz man.

Piddled with project, distracted by pain, ouch man.

Hi all....had a busy day..just got back. Going shooting tomorrow so excited weeeee....it is a friend from work from FIL so of course everyone is going. It will be awkward since hubs is not speaking to me since I had him sign the papers and I am pretty sure I cannot expect anything else from him....thanks to all who suggested I get stuff from him that he will be an azz about everything.....he is certainly being that lol
Either way...I am going shooting so whatever, MIL is afraid of guns but she will be coming also. *shrugs*.....I focus on guns.

just back from second interview...it was an informal 'chat' with 6 people (5 staff, 1 client) in the staff lounge. they mostly asked standard interview questions, like how do you handle stressful situations and conflict, why do you feel you're a good fit for this position (some of it repeats from the first interview, but good opportunity to give more examples). then a tour around the premises. i think there are at least two other people in the running because the guy who gave me the tour asked if the client wanted to come along too and mentioned that she didn't have to because she had already tagged along for the "others in the morning". they said i would hear from them next week, so i will go for the CVS training this sunday and start work there first.

I decided at many years old, I would start subtracting instead of adding to my age. This is not to make myself be younger, but a count down to the final exit.

I would change your flight time so you arrive and can get to JFK and meet her at the exit of customs and immigration when she arrives. Pay phones are becoming obsolete plus it would be a long distance (LD) call from a NY pay phone to a NC cell phone. People forget this because cell phones have "free" long distance but POTS (Plain old telephone service) is still regulated and must charge for LD if the area codes are different and not part of an over-lay (two or more area codes for a single city and everybody must use 10-digit dialing to make all calls from a land line)
Not sure about shipping time, as it is now 12 days to her flight, but you could sent her a very cheap pre-paid cell phone so she can call you--pre-program your number into the phone and charge it for her and send along a convert plug. Either that or have her wait for you at a pre-designated location at JFK--i.e. just outside the customs and immigration exit unit you arrive or pick some other place that will have seats so she can wait for you--baggage claim has a few or she can sit on the carousel.
