The term black (often capped) is still acceptable, and indeed commonly used, in scholarly literature.

My husband doesn't understand the term African American.

Tell your husband that the term African American refers to those black americans who came in this country and don't know which the country they came from. For example, you husband once a us citizen can be called African Jamaican American.

Just got an email from CRIS June 10, 2008 EAD card production ordered and aproval for AP! I canno't believe it this soon.

I just received the a transfer notice letter from USCIS. No touches or update case online. My AOS case on USCIS website is still saying received pending. The transfer notice was sent to California on May 29. Add me in the list of the transferees.

I have been login to uscis this morning and there is no problem at all. By the way, I did my biometrics before yesterday on 05/20/2008 and my I-485 and I-765 were touched yesterday 05/21/2008.

I was able to see all my three cases online before I do my biometric.

After long waiting, I finally got all my three NOAs on Friday. Now I am waiting for biometric letter.

JeffMayeth, thank you for your response. I hope you are right because I have seen so many of you guys here in VJ getting your NOAs just a week and I have to go through this waiting again after paying all this money.

I have question about my AOS. I sent my AOS application to Chicago since April 09, 2008 via USPS certified mail. I have received the delivery confirmation notice, but I haven't heard anything ffrom USCIS. Is it normal? or I need to do something about it. If so what I need to do. My money order has not been cashed yet. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Have you received the Packet 3 yet? If so, make sure that you have everything that you the instruction says, and send or fax back only DS-230 part I and the check list sheet. Hope this will help you. Good luck.

There is some good advice on the list. As for some others, my response is....yeah right !!! The same for the list about men.

it's like any kind of advice list...some of it will fit fine and some won't.

I have a hard time picturing the Muslim women waking up in the morning and going through the 60-point to-do list for the day. You strive for some stuff, you leave other stuff behind. I could take that list and say hmm, I need to not compare him to other husbands or us to other couples when we have a disagreement. Just as I could give a rat's ####### what others do in their marriage, neither should I hang that over his head.
