zzzlpr got a reaction from MattandRaniela in Positive TB (skin test) result at U.S Dept. of Health
My step son, K2, was also skin tested positive for TB in Manila, but cleared through the X-ray at St. Luke.
Here is what happened and what you should do.
He was told to report to our local health department at POE.
We reported at our County Health Dept., where new x-rays were taken.
The County Health Dept. put him in a preventive protocol, taking the medicine for several months. In his case I just had to stop by once a month to pick up another free bottle.
He followed the protocol and we got a letter from the Health Dept. stating that he complied with the protocol.
    Regarding the AOS.
At the interview the IO asked for some form of document proving that he was addressing the TB issue.
I did not have any, i.e., I did not know I needed one.
So, a new interview was scheduled for 30 days later.
I went to a Civil Surgeon with the records from the Health Dept and the Civil Surgeon called the local USCIS office to ask what they need in my son's case. So, the doctor did a general exam and fill out a sealed form.
I took it to the 2nd interview and the GC was issued.
As you can see, it is not a big deal.
If I had the documents ready at the first interview I am sure I would have sailed past it, as my wife did.
    Wishing the best.

zzzlpr got a reaction from Merrytooth in How much do you send to your wife's family monthly ?
First of all, I was answering the OP, but since you asked for clarification, why not?
I've been in Phils many times, am married with a great pinay and among other things have 3 adult step anak Filipinos, who have their own families.
I am very familiar with the everyday life, and struggles, over there.
What you or the OP do with your money is your business. It is up to you to send it all, burn in your back yard or use it in any other way.
Oh...well... Another "philanthropist" that fell for the "it's Filipino culture" thing, the sad part is that one day you will find out, the hard way, what people over there really think about you.
or not if you keep the flow.
What if your wife had married a pinoy? What would be the expectations?
Let's be real, not even close to what they've got now.
    Wishing you the best.

zzzlpr got a reaction from I AM NOT THAT GUY in How much do you send to your wife's family monthly ?
First of all, are you aware that $250/month is classified as a high income household in Phils?
The vast majority of households do not make this sort of income.
A security guard makes like $110-150, this is when he is not off of his contract.
What you send is a manager's monthly income.
The problem you have now is that you already opened a precedent, or should I say precedents with all the other extra monies you sent. So, the pressure on you, your wife and consequently in your relationship will continue forever, that's a giving.
IMHO, your only way out is to stop. The issue is how.
I would suggest establish a plan to phase down this bleeding and you MUST stick to it.
Don't give in to any of the black mail that certainly will come.
Trust me, you earn more respect by saying "NO" than giving in to any amount of money they request.
They will call you curiput, but I suspect they already do, so what's to loose on this part?

It is amusing how people jump into major conclusions based on few lines posted.
Most people that posted so far, has little to no idea of what an arranged marriage is, me included.
The little I know comes from either friends and co-workers that experienced these arranged marriages or what I read.
In other words, "your mileage may vary" (substantially).
Do you have the slight idea of what is going to be her life after being shipped back to India divorced because she had an affair/abortion with a married man prior to her marriage?
As far as I know her life will likely be ruined beyond repair, while for him it is a clean sheet and soon another arranged marriage.
I'm not defending her, or him, but there are too many possible scenarios coming from the few lines posted, from the simple ones to very complex or absurd ones. Perhaps some questions might help all posters to think.
How many hours did he talk with her alone prior to the marriage?
Would you expect her to tell him about her affair/abortion with a married man and cancel the marriage?
What sort of pressure would be coming from her and his families if she did tell him?
If she was forthcoming, would he have married her?
As far as I know all the issues posted so far should have been sorted out by the families prior to the arranged marriage, so if there is some "kind" of blame, I would say the families do bear a major responsibility, but no one had pointed this out.
Bottom line, my advice is that based on what the OP posted there is no base to claim fraud, and divorce is not a switch where you turn off, then turn on to marry again. So, I suggest him to put himself on her shoes and think what you would have done.

Obviously only you know most of the components on your situation, not all cause there is the saying: "his version, her version and the truth", but based solely on what you wrote.
The relationship had red flags while she was in PHils, she could not do anything and you had to go and hold her hand for the visa process. I bet there were many others you, intentionally or not, chose to ignore.
Your post is full of red flags since her arrival, mistreating your accepting family, not wanting to do anything, etc.
Now the reasoning, if she is doing this before acquiring "tenure" (marriage), just imagine what is coming down the pipe.
If you ask me, you are quite lucky to find out before you get marry, most unlucky guys won't find out until is way too late and VERY expensive.
I understand the emotional/time/financial investment and I also bet this is what's preventing you to cut her loose, but trust me, the sooner you take action the smaller will be the toll on you.
I know it is tough, but just imagine if she was a local girl, what would have done?
    Wishing you the best.

zzzlpr got a reaction from lakemurray in nbi- used name
Go get your clearance in all names you used. In your case maiden and previous married name.
My wife was annulled and we made the mistake of having the clearance only in her maiden name.
Result: weeks of delay and countless phone calls, even though she brought the correct NBI clearance two days after the successful interview.
