@Nobita24 how did your biometrics appointment go?

The officer told me my fingerprints can't be read during biometric. He said my fingerprints has worn off. He still submitted it and said it is normal, some people hve the same case as me. The next process he infomed is the FBI will check about it (my background, where I came from, etc) then I might will take my fingerprints manually at the police station. They will contact me later on.

Actually if there is no problem, it is a fast process there. They just take picture and your fingerprints

Update: Our case has finally been received by NVC after 7 weeks of waiting lol

Also, you had to pay for the exam and the visa before choosing the interview? How did you do that?

    Finally! Happy for you :)

Yes, I have to pay for the medical examination and visa before the interview. So, we received P3 (email from the embassy) informing all docs needed, including medical check up and visa fee. They also informed to set an interview, we can set it 10 Business Days after the medical examination. I arranged it earlier because the hospital informed me that they already sent the result to the embassy after 2 days

NVC sent my case to the embassy and when I check the status on NVC, it is showing ready. It has been like that since Aug 9th. I still have not heard anything from the embassy, they wont answer any questions over the phone and they also have not responded to my email. Any idea how long this step usually takes?

It varies for each consulate and I can't tell for consulate in Turkey, you may ask this question on Turkey portal. Or you can ask to other VJ member from Turkey. I think I saw one member from Turkey got P3 after more than 1 month or nearly 2 months. You better search in this discussion forum

What is the benefit when you have you case number early? You can begin the visa application early and see when there are available appointments? Or when you have you case number you now can track when it's sent to embassy?

I can say "yes" to those 2 questions. What I meant by begin the visa application early is preparing the docs needed for interview. And you can start fill out DS-160 online (no need to submit it but just fill it out. It can be saved). You definitely can check your status CEAC once you got your case number. "In Transit" means they are sending the file to the embassy, "Ready" means the embassy received your file.

Still no NOA. Been 2 months since they cashed the check. Is this normal or should I be worried? I'm a little concerned since our 2 year in person requirement expired mid July of this year so if there is any mistakes then I'm screwed. My fiancee and I have two children together as well so I'm pressed here. I'm in the U.S. and she's in Australia.

few VJ member got it after 3 months / 90 days. If they cashed the check, that means they are processing your file. And for meeting the person within 2 years, it is when you file the petition (you can check when they cashed the check). The last time I met my fiancé was on August 2018, we filed it at the end of July 2020.

What subject /email address should i be searching for in my email box?

Did you mean by the US embassy email?

I don't know if the subject would be the same template or not but what I got is : "K-1; Case number from NVC - Beneficiary name"

For the email address, you can check Brazil portal / Rio De Janereiro Consulate Information, it mentioned several email. It usually one of them.

    https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Brazil&cty=Rio De Janereiro

When I checked, the embassy just forward the reply email from my fiancé (petitioner). Also check your spam folder.

Hi and thank you for your response . I knew that petitioner needs to complete I-134 but wasn’t sure if it’s something we send back or beneficiary has it available at the interview. I learned that it’s need for the interview.

Also there is a better explanation on USCIS Facebook page that explains I-864 new rule in debt. They made a Q&A I found that was helpful. They mentioned many people were confused with the new rule in place.

    thank you so much again

    Thank you , you’re correct.

yes, it's for the interview. Btw, can you give the link about the Q&A of I-864?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I’m hoping someone can help me.
With the new public charge rule, affidavit is no longer needed. Or is it ?
I’m a bit confused on this new rule/law Biden passed.
link is below , what this mean ?
    https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/affidavit-of-support

Also  is i134 needed at all either from petitioner or beneficiary ?
Is this still needed after Biden pass the new rules/ law with USCIS ?

As far as I know affidavit is still needed. The link you gave is for Form I-864, and that will be needed later for AOS.

I-134 filled by petitioner not beneficiary

Can someone clarify something for me? After NOA2, you get your case number when the case reaches NVC or when the case is transferred to the respective consulate ? Separately the beneficiary receives a letter? Is it when NVC sends case to consulate that you can officially apply for the visa?

Usually NVC will create case number in the system around 5 - 10 business days after they received your case from USCIS, so before the case is transferred to respective consulate. Then after the consulate received your case, they will send an email to petitioner to confirm about your case and ask the beneficiary data (name, address, email, phone number). Then they will send an email to beneficiary to inform the docs they needed from beneficiary (the email called P3).

Hi All, I am still waiting for NVC to assign a case.  Trying to call but can’t get through even to be placed in queue to talk to someone.  Anyone, of other June NOA2 folks experienced that?

It's common when calling NVC, try to call several time.

Best time to call: Right after they open, which is around 7:00 AM US Eastern Time, Mon-Fri. Most have had luck getting the phone answered after the first ring if they called right at 7 AM. Also, in the evening, phone traffic is a little lighter.

If you can't get through to 1-603-334-0700, maybe you can try the other number on this post below

I too finally got threw to nvc and got my case number and filled out the DS160, my case says at NVC when i check CEAC, Nobita24,  what did you do to get the interview?

it's probably a little bit different with your country, you have to check with yours. In Indonesia we have to finished the medical examination and paid visa fee, then later we arrange the schedule in the website (but before this, I knew that the embassy set up the date for us). Somehow nowadays, we set up our on interview date in here.

You can check in the Regional Discussion - Mexico, they probably mention something about the process there in the thread

Is there anyone that can tell me all the K1 interview documents that I would need to bring to the interview? I’m having mine in London and I’m unsure as to what specifically to bring. Also, does everything have to be signed at the bottom by me & the petitioner? Like on the K1 visa packet?

I forgot to make a copy of the file that I sent, would that matter?

    Hi Lyndaa,

Did you get email from the embassy (P3)? usually they will inform you what documents you should prepare.

You also can check this topic:

My fiancé and I didn't sign everything at the bottom just the signature column in the form.

Please complete your timeline, it can help others too. Good luck for the interview!

    Hi !

Anybody from November that has received their NOA2 but not their NVC? I've been waiting and calling for almost 2 months and nothing

I got my NoA2 on 15 June, my fiancé didn't get anything (mail nor email). What's important is to get the case number, then you can check/monitor your status easily on CEAC =. I am now waiting for my interview on 2 Sept.

    Hey everyone!
I just want to post an update - my K1 was approved!

    Here is my timeline:

    I-129F sent: 20 August 2020

    NOA1: 1 September 2020

    NOA2: 6 April 2021

NVC case ready: 30 April 2021

Received email of packet 2 May 2021

    Interview: 30 July 2021
Visa received in home address: 5 August 2021

There was a slight delay in submitting documents as I was waiting for my police certificates from the UK and Malaysia. There was a lockdown in Malaysia and the offices were closed and that caused a delay in receiving the documents.

Embassy was quick. My interview was 10 minutes max.

As of now, I'm applying to leave the country and that is another whole process because of Covid, there are strict rules and regulations...

Congraaats!!! I am here still waiting to do my medical examination on 20 August then inform the embassy so they could arrange the interview date.

    Hi Nobita,

Thank you so much for your response. I think you're right, we started to apply through the "non-immigrant" option, where the K visas were not an option. We have continued to the immigrant section.

However, I am still really confused. Since we received an interview date, it seems that the logical next step is to register the appointment date (selecting "I have received a Consular interview appointment date from the National Visa Center (NVC), Kentucky Consular Center (KCC), or the Consular Section and I have been instructed to register my appointment on this site." When we start the process of registering the appointment, we have all of the necessary information besides a "DS-260" number. I have read multiple posts saying that DS-260 is not for K1 and that there is not fee to pay at the NVC stage?

I'm afraid that we've messed something up somewhere. We don't have an invoice number (for CEAC), nor a DS-260 number (for the Embassy appointment registration).

I don't know how to go about paying the visa fees.

You all have been so helpful. Thank you for your help and the time you took to read this.

    JCFZ

Can you reply the embassy's email and ask them? In Indonesia, we don't fill up DS-260 but we have to fill up DS-160 (Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application). and here is example of US embassy email (P3). But as I mentioned before, might be different from other country. So, you better ask the embassy is it okay you come to the interview without filling up the form (either DS-260 or DS-160), before paying the fee or what you should bring to the interview.

    Hi everyone,

Great news! Today we received something from the embassy in France. We're happy but definitely confused. Once we got a notification that our case had been sent to Paris from the NVC, and then that it was "Ready," we went ahead and filled out the DS-160 (on 6/29/21). We have still not received a P3. However, today we received an email with an interview date (9/28/21)! We are ecstatic, but a little confused as to why we haven't gotten a P3?

Also, the email contains a link for https://ais.usvisa-info.com/, where we are supposed to make an account, login, and then pay the visa fee? However, we are stuck because when prompted to select a "Visa Class," all other visas seem to be an option besides K visas! It states that if your Visa Class is not listed, then send an email. Has anyone heard of this issue before?

Thanks for any insight! And best wishes to all those still waiting.

    JCFZ

    Hi,

I think not all embassy has the same process. Is US embassy in France usually do this (set interview date without sending P3)? You might reply the email and ask the embassy. US embassy in Indonesia sends P3 first then we have to do medical examination and then interview. But as I have said before, US embassy in another country might has a slight different one. In here, we also have to make an account and when I looked into Visa Class, K1 is under Immigrant Visa. But you might can ask this also to the embassy or in France Portal if you can't find the Visa class.
