I JUST got an email saying my expedite request was being reviewed. I sent it in last Friday 7/31

good luck to you! We didn’t have a “real emergency” but requested on the grounds that we were delayed by four months due to USCIS error and the beneficiaries career which is based on the US academic year.

hoping for some extra leniency in this time

    Hello.

Any update on your expedite request?

I did an expedite I haven't gotten any response at all yet...

    What about you anything?

No, it would not effect your case.  You can request an expedite as many times as you want. It is free and through email.  You may have to email both the NVC and the consulate unless you know where your case is currently at.  Beneficiaries who are currently in Mexico seem to have an advantage with expedites, at least that is what I have seen on my facebook groups.

I was talking to a NVC agent a few weeks ago (yearly call to keep our case open) and she basically urged us to try to expedite as she didn't expect the consulate in Juarez to open for regular interviews until sometime next year; Covid numbers in Juarez (and Mexico in general) are out of control.

Sadly, we have no reason for an expedite :( Our case closed in August of 2019.... we were expecting the interview this month.

    Omg.

    Its too sad.

I will try and request an expedite. Wish me luck, i will let you know how it goes.

Unless you ask for an Expedite you should expect for your case to be at NVC for a while. I know someone from ciudad Juarez that got an Email basically saying to not expect anything until next year 2021. If you believe your husband qualifies for an Expedited interview I would go ahead and request one.

I would need to see if he qualifies for it.

Question. In case we try an expedite and he gets denied it will affect the regular case ?

Sorry, totally read over the 2019! Nonetheless, the consulate has dramatically slowed down it's processing. People who had their appointments cancelled for March/April still haven't gotten their dates rescheduled so unfortunately it seems that we're in for a long wait. Is your spouse currently in Mexico?

Yes. He still there. He has never been in usa, used any other names, or crossed the border or anything.

I'm in a group on facebook with people who are waiting on their appointmment at the consulate in Ciudad Juarez. It seems that they're only processing emergency appointments at the moment and unfortunately they haven't said when they will be fully opening back up! You finished submitting all of your documentation to the NVC this month?

All documentation was submitted and accepted in May 2019, and I got the email saying that nvc will schedule his interview on 7/12/19.

After that we haven't received anything yet. I knew it might take around 6 months or so for the interview to be scheduled but now its already over a year.

  7. My husband's case is in the nvc in ciudad Juárez, everything is been completed, last notice I received was on July 12th 2019 saying that they would schedule his interview up to today 7/31/20 we haven't received any update. We still waiting on his interview to be scheduled. Do you know how much more will take ?.

    I am a USA citizen .....
