Right now there's no need to be a citizen or resident to interview at another consulate in a different country.

Just contact the new consulate to see if they'll agree to your case transfer.

-For Those Navigating Long Interview Wait Times-

Our goal is to provide a visa interview for every applicant who requires one, worldwide, in a reasonable timeframe.  Although our processing capacity is rebounding faster than projected, we know that visa applicants still face lengthy wait times at some embassies and consulates.  We urge any visa applicant who can travel to another embassy or consulate with shorter wait times to consider doing so.  There is no penalty for applying anywhere appointments are available, even outside your home country.

@nastra30 thank you very much. Please how do I contact the new consulate in a different country for example Côte d’Ivoire.  If you won’t mind can I have your WhatsApp number.

  2. I now know that you need a resident permit in the country you want to transfer your case to. Can anyone please help me with the process of getting a resident permit in either Côte d’Ivoire or Togo? I heard they don’t have a backlog, it’s an ir1 visa. Thank you 🙏🏿

  3. Hi everyone,  I filed a K1 1-129F petition for my fiancee last year and she got refused. So do i say yes or no to this question.  But it’s also asking for the outcome with only 3choices; approved, denied or withdrawn. USCIS approved the petition but the US embassy at his country refused her. I’m confuse here, Can someone help me with this question.

  4. My fiancee attended an interview on the 7th of May, 2019 and was refused.I wrote to the Embassy on the 13th of November, 2019 and received a reply from your office on the 15th of November, 2019 that my case was assigned to a consular officer for review and once you finish the review, you would contact me for the next steps but it has been 10 months now and I have not heard anything from the Embassy. The question is we are married now can i go ahead do the IR1/CR1for my wife or wait to finish their review?
