Sorry I’m sure this has been asked a thousand times but any advice is gratefully received.

I had 2 biometric appt letters for March, both cancelled of course. One was for I485 and I765, and one was for I131.

Since reopening I have received only a new biometric appt for the i485 and I765, and that appt was today. I asked the lady when I was there if they’d apply the same prints to my I131 and was told no, I’d have tomce

back when I get that appt.

I assume if I’d had my I131 appt letter she could have processed a second set of biometrics there and then? But I did not have that letter as it’s not been sent to me yet.

    What have others’ experiences been?

    1. TWO new appt notices received if applied for work auth and advance parole, both letters taken to first appt and only one visit needed

    2. TWO new appt notices received if applying for work auth and advance parole and two trips made to the ASC

    3. You’ve received one appt and not the other yet

I submitted a case inquiry for the i131 portion today as the processing time

for that is still up to 5 months, not 35 months like i765.

    3. I only did fingerprint for I765 and I485, I already received combo card so I think you should be fine

You mentioned before that you expedited. Did you receive the card because of the expedite request? Also when did you do biometrics exactly? To give us people who did biometrics in past couple days a better timeframe to understand when we could potentially get our cards.

I did my biometric on 8/17 , because my case is approved so it went production in the same day, I think the expedite request only help to get case approved but didn't speed up the production, from card in production to card is mailed to me take about 3 days, hope this help

thats very interesting, I tried expediting before my biometrics reappointment and got denied because of no biometrics with the explanation that I was free to request expedite again after biometrics had been added to the system. This was about a month ago

Yeah I didn't have my hopes up but my lawyer put in the expedite request and it worked , so I think it worth trying

    Good morning everyone!

I'm torn: Do you think trying to expedite my EAD right now, before having had biometrics is worth it, or should I not even bother? I plan on requesting to expedite it anyway - because as we all agree, who can wait 28 - 37 months - but I don't know if I should just wait for my biometrics and then make request. Whenever that'll be...

I know @amyS, you said it worked for you right? Did you have crazy good documentation or sth? I was thinking of sending my furlough notice, now expired  OPT EAD, and maybe a bank statement as proof.

Yeah my lawyer called USCIS ask expedite request(she owns all the credit ) , and on the phone they gave us a request number and said will get back to us in two weeks, and after one week mine got approved, so I didn't actually send in my supporting documents. Mine supporting documents are job offer letter, a cover letter explaining why I need to expedite(reason for expedite, monthly spending, my education background, future job description), a transcript and my diploma. Hope this helps

Oh wow! This is a game changer, I’m going to call them tomorrow and let you guys know. Thank you!

@amyS Did you have any previous biometrics taken?

I never did biometric in any ASC before I sent expedite request, my lawyer called USCIS request an expedite base on server financial loss because I have a job offer , and they said they will get  back to us in two weeks, after about a week my I765 and I131 got approved at the same time the expedite request shows complete. USCIS didn't even ask me to send any support document, we were ready to fax offer letter, my diploma and all the supporting documents. So I think it worth trying to expedite, good luck !

where does it say "unexpired ?

    https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents under list B

" Employees may present one of the following unexpired List B documents:"

But as @GG10  point out USCIS put out special policy about using expired document in list B is acceptable

     https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-related-news/temporary-policies-related-to-covid-19

So you are right, using expired document under list B is acceptable now

Because of the 700% increase in processing times for our EADs, I just got off the phone with a Tier 2 officer, she confirmed the new time ranges are correct, and then she offered to expedite my case, but I reminded her that without biometrics I’m not eligible to have my case expedited, she agreed. Then she opened this Biometrics/Fingerprints case inquiry to the NBC: “As of August 20, 2020, your Fingerprints/Biometrics, referral number WKD23320*****MSC, is currently not assigned for processing.” , which is different from the first case inquiry I made on May 26th named ‘Other Tier 1,’ and the case number started with a T1 instead of WKD. Do you guys think this new case inquiry will make things go faster or it will be useless like my first one?  Anyone has a similar case inquiry directly to the National Benefits Center (NBC)?

you can still try to expedite without biometric, I request expedite request without biometric and USCIS granted the request and approved my I765 on July

Im not good at this lol. I thought sometimes or normally you get this stamp which would allow you to work until you have the Greencard in hand.

Does this mean you also still need the EAD? I thought the EAD was in the meantime until the Greencard was approved?

I think USCIS stopped doing the stamp for work permit sadly, you have to either get EAD or green card to work

I’m also from Maryland, ASC Alexandria, I have the same receipt date and my initial biometrics appointment was also April 3rd, haven’t gotten my appointment rescheduled either

We are in the same application center, my original appointment was March 20th, I just finish my rescheduled biometric appointment this Monday, I got mine biometric appointment by calling USCIS service line and ask to speak to a Tire 2 officer, and he helped me made the appointment, you should try that

update: EAD card is Produced ! my EAD application was approved on July 16th, hopefully I will get card in hand soon !

Update: my case status changed again 😮 from card is being produced to fingerprint is taken, I am confused, what is the order of these status, I thought fingerprint is taken should come before card is being produced
