Just a quick clarification for your timeline: you filed 19 of June. Almost 3 weeks after that you got NOA. Then you got an RFE for medical and when you responded back to this RFE you got biometrics appointment or you got first the biometrics appointment and after that (or almost simultaneously) RFE for medical???

To be honest I try to figure out if RFE for medical will halt biometrics appointment or just it halts I-485 application and surely possible interview schedule (as some people started reporting). I cannot the RFE date on your timeline :(

thanks in advance for your quick replies.

I am yet to update on the RFE on my timeline. I just posted the response. Once it reach NBC I will update.

FYI, I received RFE a week after completing Biometrics.

Interesting!!! So this pretty much means we can have a GC in a few months or even before we get any EAD or AP at hand. As I have not followed those threads, do you now how long after biometrics are the interview appointments? Like in a month-two or in years ;) Hahaha USCIS can even do this.

Maybe they rush GC approvals as to collect more money ;)

I need to warn you. There are some concurrent filers who are still waiting on their biometrics. How fast your case progress mainly depends on your location. You need to follow people from your area and get more info

It is crazy. Like you filed and then almost immediately you got an RFE for medical. I haven't seen that before. I know and my attorney told me that normally they issue medical RFE after a few months. Interesting is that in most of the times they have approved EAD/AP first.

I have to say that maybe your EAD/AP was not on halt as they asked for biometric appointment. So I-485 was on halt and I-131 & I-765 was moving along the way.

I have done and my wife has done vaccines in the USA the last 1-3 years. Hence, ideally our records are up to dated PLUS we can do some blood test for sure. Worst case scenario we will re-do vaccines all over again. But yeah medical RFE adds 2-3 weeks

It’s not that crazy. My concurrent filers are getting their interviews scheduled soon after biometrics (check the thread). They are focusing on expediting I-485, by skipping EAD/AP.

So hopefully soon you will get your AP or Green card! Good luck

Attorneys suggest to do the medical once USCIS request for RFE. So did you get an RFE for medical so soon? Is the process on "halt" as they are waiting for your I-693? Could you elaborate more?

Yes I did got a RFE. I got the RFE letter after 4 days from status updates. It took a week to get all my tests in and another week to get the I-693 signed from the civil surgeon. Plus sometime to mail the response back. So during this period, everything is on halt.

Get all your immunization records updated. And if your are lucky turn around time with the civil surgeon may be less.

Thanks for your reply. No I haven't submitted I-693 as attorneys suggested to wait for RFE or courtesy letter and bring medical to interview. Their idea is that I-693 has validity only for 24 months and to avoid "spending" time now.

Did you file I-485 concurrently with I-140? Which service center is your I-485, I-131 and I-765? National Benefits Center? What visa do you have?

I have an O1 visa and I cannot travel without an Advance to Parole. Hence, I am truly worried about the crazy delay of EAD process at National Benefits Center :(

I filed with an approved NIW petition. Yes, they are processed at the National Benefit Center in Kansas. I am on H1B visa.

If you really need travel soon, try to expedite you AP. Also, I would recommend you to get your I-693 ready. So you can reply to RFE as soon as you get it. I did the mistake of waiting and my whole process is on halt for more than 3 weeks now.

    Hi,

I have applied for I-485, I-131 and I-765 in August 2020 for employment based EB2. Application will be sent to National Benefit Center (I was told that). I am wondering: How long did it take to get receipt notice for National Benefit Center? How long did it take to get biometrics appointment?

Also it seems that their I-131 processing times are fair now (according to their web site) but EAD card time at National Benefit Center is RIDICULOUS. Could first receive Advance to Parole and later on EAD card?

I sent my application during the shutdown, so it took around 4 weeks to get my receipts and biometrics was scheduled 3 weeks after that (check my timeline for exact dates). However, timeline can depend on the backlog of the area that you live.

    Have you already submitted I-693?

We had ours yesterday as well, same thing - It took 10 times as long to drive there and back v. the actual appointment!

Even I experienced the same. Hartford ASC was empty when I got there. Most of the time of the appointment was also for cleaning/disinfection procedures (which is good :D), actual thing only takes less than 5 mins

Be sure to double check for the current fees as fees do sometimes increase, so please check. Additionally check the forms as listed above i.e., current version and or edition date, there has been changes to various forms since February 24, 2020. Consider sending tax transcripts instead of the 1040, and W2's. Also consider preparing a cover letter for each form in addition to the main cover letter.

Make sure you send long form birth certificates and not the short form. IMPORTANT: Form I-944 has quite a bit of supporting documents that go with it depending on your situation, be sure to read the instructions for this form carefully. Many people have gotten a RFE for this form so be sure to pay CLOSE attention when filing it out. Hope this helps in your preparation of your AOS. When in doubt ask questions.

Great! You should check this thread. It is mainly a group of family based Petitioners and very active group of June filers. I am also there.

    i'm a june filer :)

    date filed: june 6

    noa1: june 16

    biometrics: aug 10

uscis emailed me today (aug 18) that our case status is now TESTING AND INTERVIEW. they didn't ask us for RFEs, is that a good sign that we are just now waiting for an interview?

That's good in my opinion. Did you submit your I-693 along with your I-485?

After biometrics I got a RFE for Supplement J (which I don't need to submit) and I-693 (which I was planning to take for the interview). So if all your documents is there, there is no reason to send a RFE. I have a feeling that they are going to waive the interview as well. Good luck!

Also which employment category are you in?

    Hey guys,

I posted this in another topic but thought I'd post it here since you are discussing the I-693. The link below has a table which shows the required vaccines depending on your age. The technical instructions are also pretty informative.

On another note, USPS confirmed that my RFE response arrived at USCIS yesterday so I will wait and see what they say going forward. My next step will be to send the I-693 but I am waiting for them to send an RFIE or RFE for that.

If you have not got a RFE for I-693 now, I think you will only going to get a courtesy letter, not a RFE. At least that is my understanding after reading other threads.

Anyways glad to hear that your first initial RFE was delivered and was updated fast.

Ohh that is good. I also had a record with so many vaccines but needed to do 2.

Just the copy was $10. The physical was $350... unfortunately before I went I was not aware that that price does not include blood work , the blood work cost me around $300 and the vaccines 250 ( they gave me 2 shots) . So I ended up paying around 1000 for everything....So I would advice everybody to do research before going.

oh no! that was a rip off....Glad my surgeon allowed me to go back and get the test done through Quest Labs (which my insurances is accepted)

Hi. They acted the same with me. But you have to call and check every few days because these people are busy and forgot and do not care basically lol But one of the test ( i think is the Tuberculosis takes so long sometimes )  so If they told you 1 week that is good! You paid 250 for everything ?

Cool. I will keep it in mind to check regularly.

$250 is just for the physical. Blood work is covered by my insurance.

  13. 5 minutes ago, bradoony said:

Blood work does not have anything do to with the vaccines. You need to do 2 things - Blood work (It is 3 tests for diseases) and separate is the vaccination. Whichever you have not had before, they will do it for you. Even you do not have your vaccination report and you go with nothing, they cant make you more than 3 vaccines. After you do the blood for the test and the medical examination ( vaccine and regular check ) the doctor will fill a form called I 693 and will put it in seal envelope that you can not open, you just send it to USCIS. But I asked for a copy so I can see the results from the blood, It costed $10.

I was given Tdap vaccine last year (in US) so they waived me for blood test titer for that Tet antibodies. I took record of MMR, vericella etc. that I received from my home country. All the records were in English. I was made to take blood test titers to verify those vaccinations. I guess it depends on the surgeon that you go to. Thanks for clarifing.

Also, did the copy cost you $10 or the whole physical ?

You can send the form to your doctor back home to fill it out, sign it and send it back to you. I do not think you need original. If your doctor does not know English, you can translate it and send another copy for him/her to understand. I am attaching the one I used and It is accepted by every Immigration doctor in Massachusetts. You just need to find a form from your state. Good luck!

Cool. Unfortunately, my doctor was not ready consider my vaccination from home Country. So I had to do blood work for all the tests.

Shan - We made an appointment with a doctor to get the vaccines done through health insurance prior to the medical exam - Also, look on easyime.com - I found a doctor in Bridgeport that is $75 for the medical.

Oh really....I had to pay $250. However, all the cheaper places did not have appointments for this week. So I had to go with it.  I am blaming myself for waiting this long to get my medical done.
